Entangled With My Rival CEO

Chapter 81

Chapter 81

At the hospital, Fernando and Alessia stood side by side outside the ward designated for Camilla, their anxiety palpable as they awaited the doctor's update on her condition.

Time seemed to stretch endlessly, each passing minute feeling like an eternity.

The weight of worry gnawed at their insides, intensifying with every passing moment.

Finally, the door swung open, and the doctor came through, her expression serious and composed.

Sensing their desperation, the doctor spoke, breaking the heavy silence, "I apologize for the wait, but I have good news. Your daughter is now stable and fully conscious."

Overwhelmed with relief, Alessia couldn't contain her emotions any longer and let out a sob.

Her body seemed to sag with the weight of the emotions she had been carrying.

In that moment, Fernando reached out, enveloping her in a comforting embrace, his arms offering solace and support.

Alessia's voice cracked as tears blurred her vision, and she managed to ask, "Can we see her?"

The doctor paused, her mouth slightly open, before finally answering, "I'm afraid you cannot, Mrs. Kings."

The weight of the doctor's words hung in the air, causing Alessia and Fernando's hearts to sink.

Anxious glances were exchanged, their worries resurfacing.

"I thought you said she was alright? Why can't we see her?" Fernando's voice trembled with concern.

The doctor sighed, her expression sympathetic.

"Physically, she is stable, but she has requested that neither of you be allowed to visit her."

Alessia and Fernando exchanged bewildered looks, their worry deepening at the doctor's statement.

"But... why?" Alessia's voice trembled as she asked the question that weighed heavily on their minds.

The doctor hesitated for a moment before responding.

"I'm sorry, but she did not provide any specific reasons. She simply asked to be left alone for now."

Alessia's head shook in disbelief, unwilling to accept the doctor's words.

"There must be a misunderstanding, Doctor. Please, just let me see her," she pleaded, making a move toward the door.

However, the doctor placed a gentle hand on Alessia's shoulder, halting her.

"Mrs. Kings, she has threatened to harm herself if either of you manages to enter. I cannot risk that," the doctor's voice carried genuine concern, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.

Alessia's breath caught, her eyes widening in shock and fear.

She turned to Fernando, then back to the doctor, her voice trembling. "What... why... wait... are you saying the bathtub incident was deliberate?"

The doctor's expression grew solemn as she nodded.

"Yes, based on what she disclosed to me, if either of you entered her room without her consent, she would harm herself again, and this time, she intends to succeed."

A heavy silence engulfed Alessia and Fernando as they absorbed the doctor's words.

Shock and disbelief washed over them, mingling with the fear that had already taken hold of their hearts

Alessia's voice barely rose above a whisper as she sank into a nearby chair, her legs weakening beneath her.

"She knows..." she uttered, her words trailing off.

The doctor's compassionate yet resolute voice broke through her thoughts.

"Knows about what?" she inquired, prompting Alessia to take a deep breath, attempting to steady herself.

"She knows..." she repeated, her voice barely audible.

Seeing Alessia's emotional state, Fernando took charge of the situation.

"Doctor, please, can you give us a moment?" he requested, his tone filled with urgency.

The doctor hesitated, her expression showing a hint of reluctance.

"Mr. Kings, I understand that your family is going through a highly sensitive situation, but if there's anything that could aid your daughter..." the doctor began, but her words were interrupted by the sudden arrival of Alexander, whose presence instantly shifted the atmosphere.

Breathing heavily, Alexander approached the group.

"I'm sorry I'm late," he said, his voice conveying deep concern. "Is Camilla alright?"

Fernando's brows furrowed instantly upon seeing Alexander, his knuckles clenching so tightly that his veins bulged.

"You," he uttered in a low, stern voice, his gaze fixed on Alexander. "What are you doing here?"

"Haven't you caused enough pain for my daughter?" he continued, storming towards Alexander and gripping his shirt collar with a tight grip.

Shocked by Fernando's sudden outburst, Alessia immediately stood up and reached out to try and calm him down.

"Fernando... please, let him go," she pleaded, attempting to remove Fernando's hand from Alexander's collar, but her efforts proved futile.

"You're the reason my daughter tried to harm herself," Fernando snarled, shrugging off Alessia's touch and persisting in his assault on Alexander.

The doctor swiftly intervened, attempting to separate them and diffuse the escalating situation.

"Mr. Kings, please! This is a hospital," the doctor implored urgently.

Finally, Fernando let go of Alexander, only to deliver a swift punch to his face.

A gasp escaped Alessia as she witnessed the blow, and Alexander stumbled backward, instinctively placing a hand on his cheek.

"I entrusted my daughter to you, and what did you do?!" Fernando's voice boomed as Alessia struggled to restrain him from further attacking Alexander.

"You deserve more than just a punch... you despicable person!" he exclaimed, his anger and pain palpable in his words.

Alexander, recovering from the blow, lifted his head, his blue eyes filled with a mix of guilt and remorse.

"I didn't... I didn't think she would do something like this," Alexander stuttered, his voice trembling. "I never intended any harm to befall her."

"What did you expect her to do?!" Fernando nearly lunged at him again, but Alessia tightened her grip on him.

"Stop it, Fernando! Violence won't solve anything," she begged, her voice choked with emotion.

Her words managed to cut through the haze of anger that consumed Fernando's mind.

Taking a deep breath, he struggled to regain control of his emotions, allowing Alessia to guide him a few steps back from Alexander.

In that moment, the door behind them creaked open, and a nurse emerged, glancing briefly at the group before addressing the doctor.

"Doctor, the patient wishes to see you," the nurse informed.

The doctor, still concerned about the tense situation between Fernando and Alexander, nodded hastily.

"Thank you. I'll be right there," she responded before refocusing on the distressed family.

"I must attend to Camilla," the doctor explained.

"But I strongly urge all of you to find a calmer place to talk and process your emotions."

"This is a hospital, and we have protocols and policies to follow." With that, she hurried back into the ward, leaving Fernando, Alessia, and Alexander who was yet to recover from the effect of the punch from Fernando standing by the hallway.

The tension hung heavy in the air.

Fernando, still seething with anger, turned his gaze towards Alexander, his voice filled with bitterness and desperation.

"You should leave," he stated, his words tinged with a veiled threat. "You have already caused enough pain to my family."

Alexander's jaw tightened as he swallowed hard, his resolve unyielding.

"I understand your reaction towards me, but I cannot leave without seeing Camilla," he asserted, his voice filled with determination and resilience.

Fernando, provoked by Alexander's words, stepped forward once again, with Alessia gently restraining him.

"You must think I'm foolish to ever allow you near my daughter," he hissed, his gaze filled with hostility directed at Alexander.

However, before Alexander could respond, the door creaked open, capturing everyone's attention as the doctor emerged from Camilla's room.

The doctor paused, surveying the scene before her, her gaze lingering on Alexander before she spoke.

"She wishes to see you Mr Cena," she stated, the weight of her words resonating in the air.
