Entangled With My Rival CEO

Chapter 19

Chapter 19

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden light across the sky, Alexander pulled the car up in front of a grand, luxurious mansion.

The sunset painted the sky with a brilliant array of colors, highlighting the opulence of the building before them.

Camilla looked out the window, taking in the impressive facade, with its tall columns and intricate detailing.

"Here we are," Alexander said as he turned off the engine and stepped out of the car to open the door for Camilla.

Camilla followed, her eyes fixed on the imposing structure before her as she came down from the car.

As they walked closer to the mansion's entrance, a young woman in a polished business attire stepped out.

Her hair was pulled back into a sophisticated bun, showcasing her fair complexion and slender neck.

With eager steps, she approached to welcome their arrival.

"Alexander!" She squealed excitedly, throwing herself into his arms, wrapping them around him.

Welcome back!" he greeted her with a warm smile, wrapping her in a tight embrace. "I thought you were still in Tokyo. When did you arrive?"

"I got back yesterday," she answered, snuggling against him. "I've only been here for about 30 minutes."

Stepping back from the embrace, she turned her attention to Camilla, who stood by watching the reunion. Camilla greeted her with a smile and a wave of her hand.

"Hi," Camilla said warmly, extending her hand in greeting.

The young woman approached Camilla with a gaze filled with curiosity, her thick black glasses amplifying her intense scrutiny.

Her blue eyes were ablaze with enthusiasm and excitement as she impulsively pulled Camilla into a warm and tight embrace, completely catching her off guard.

"It is with great pleasure that I finally meet you!" Isabel exclaimed, releasing Camilla from the embrace and gracing her with a radiant smile.

"Allow me to introduce myself, I am Isabel, Alexander's younger sister. My brother has spoken so much about you, and I have been eagerly anticipating this moment where I can finally meet you in person." Isabel gestured towards the tall man standing beside her, emphasizing her connection to him.

As the conversation continued, Alexander grew increasingly uncomfortable. His cheeks turned red and he shifted nervously.

"So you've been talking about me to your sister?" Camilla queried, her gaze moving between Isabel to Alexander.

"Yes," Isabel answered for him, a look of confusion evident on her face.

"It's surprising that he never brought up that you people were already dating despite all the conversations we've had about you in the past." Isabel remarked,

"You don't say." Camilla responded, her tone reflecting her surprise.

"Alright, let's bring this to a close," Alexander declared, concluding the conversation.

"Can we go inside now?" he asked, attempting to steer the focus in a new direction.

"Oh, uh, sure, come on in. Everyone is waiting for us," Isabel said, gesturing for Camilla and Alexander to follow her into the mansion.

"Everyone?" Camilla and Alexander asked in unison.

"Yes, everyone," Isabel confirmed matter-of-factly.

Camilla whispered to Alexander, "I thought it was just dinner with your grandmother?"

Alexander replied in a hushed tone, "So did I."

Camilla let out a sigh, no longer feeling confident in Alexander's previous assurance.

As the three walked into the grand foyer lined with marble statues, she admired the stunning display of paintings and elegant pastel furnishings.

Finally, they reached the grand staircase and made their way down to the expansive meeting room.

A deep, rich, yet slightly creaky voice echoed from the far side of the room, "Well, well! Look what the cat dragged in..."

Camilla pivoted to locate the source of the voice and found an elderly woman.

The woman was dressed in a chic black cocktail dress that ended just below the knee, providing adequate coverage.

Despite her wrinkled hands clutching a walking stick firmly, she met Camilla's gaze with unwavering eye contact.

Camilla stood transfixed, unsure if she should initiate conversation, as Alexander stepped forward to greet the woman.

He beamed, "Grandma!" before enveloping her in a warm embrace.

The elderly woman expressed her joy, "I'm so glad you're here," before bestowing a brief kiss on his cheek as they parted.

Harriet redirected her gaze towards Camilla, examining her closely.

"My, you are a vision," she complimented, giving Camilla a thorough once-over.

"I am Harriet, and it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Cena family abode," she said with a warm smile.

A soft blush tinted Camilla's cheeks.

"Thank you, ma'am. You look beautiful as well," Camilla said, smiling politely.

Harriet let out a musical laugh, full of life and energy, "Oh my dear, not anymore. I was beautiful fifty years ago."

Isabel interjected, her eyebrows raised in surprise, "Fifty years ago? Grandma, you're still as gorgeous as a sweet sixteen." Her jest elicited another round of chuckles from Harriet.

"Indeed, a sweet sixteen trapped in the body of a seventy-six-year-old woman," Harriet playfully quipped, winking at Isabel.

Isabel responded with an eye roll and a shake of her head, amused.

"Let's not make the others wait any longer, shall we?" Harriet suggested, leading the way into the dining room.

As they entered the magnificent dining room, they were greeted by the grand chandeliers that hung high overhead, casting a warm and inviting light.

The centerpiece of the room was a massive mahogany table, which took up much of the floor space, surrounded by nineteen chairs, each filled with two people who were deeply engrossed in their conversation.

The atmosphere was relaxed, yet elegant, and the room was brimming with a sense of expectation.

"Ahem!" Harriet politely interrupted, her voice breaking the buzz of conversation.

The once boisterous dining room quieted as the two women at the table shifted their focus to Camilla, generating a palpable air of tension. An uneasy hush enveloped the room, leaving a feeling of discomfort in its wake.

"Ladies, meet Camilla Kings of Tombell® Fashion House," Harriet declared, with a welcoming grin directed towards Camilla and an outstretched hand.

"Please come and take a seat next to me," Harriet cordially invited, extending her hand towards Camilla.

Despite feeling a twinge of hesitation, Camilla took hold of Harriet's offered hand and allowed herself to be guided towards a seat at the center of the magnificent mahogany dining table.

The plush velvet cushion beckoned her to sit, and she obliged, settling in next to the gracious hostess.
