Entangled With My Rival CEO

Chapter 111

Chapter 111

"He is uh...." She trailed off for a few seconds trying to figure out how to complete her hastily concocted story.

"He had much to drink last night and...umh...rang on my bell....long story short he ended up falling asleep here." She blurted out, hoping her lie sounded somewhat plausible.

Edward arched an eyebrow, "Couldn't you have called...I don't know... maybe his family...or someone to help you get him out. And why would he even ask you to come back to the bed?"

Camilla felt a flush of panic at the unexpected turn of the conversation. She quickly tried to salvage her story, her mind racing to come up with a reasonable explanation.

"Oh, well, you see, he lives alone, and he doesn't really have anyone else to rely on. As for the bed thing, he's a heavy sleeper and probably just mumbled something in his sleep. You know how it is."

Edward's expression shifted from curiosity to a mix of skepticism, "Can I come in?" he asked again, his voice tinged with a hint of growing irritation.

Camilla felt her heart race even faster, caught between the lie she had spun and the reality that she had Alexander inside her apartment and not any neighbor.

"Umm...I..." She stammered, her mind racing for a way out of the increasingly awkward situation. "Actually...the thing is..."

Unable to bear her stuttering and excuses any longer, Edward pushed his way past Camilla and strode into the living room, only to find Alexander casually strolling in, half-naked, wearing only his boxers.

Alexander appeared unruffled, not the least bit surprised by Edward's sudden appearance.

Edward's initial irritation escalated visibly into anger as he glared at Alexander. "What the hell is going on here? Why are you here, half-naked?" His voice was sharp and filled with anger.

Edward then turned to Camilla, who was still standing by the door, her face flushed with embarrassment and anxiety. "What the hell is he doing here, Camilla?" Edward's anger was evident.

Camilla took a deep breath, her guilt and apprehension weighing on her. She knew she couldn't continue the charade any longer.

"Edward, I... I should've been honest from the start. Alexander... I..." Her sentence trailed off, and she couldn't find the words to continue.

"Avete... avete fatto sesso con lui?(Did you... did you have sex with him?) " Edward asked, switching to Italian, his voice low but seething with anger and disgust.

Camilla remained silent, unable to meet Edward's eyes, while Alexander continued to stare, seemingly unfazed by the brewing storm.

After waiting for a few tense seconds, Camilla's silence tested Edward's patience to its limit.

He suddenly yelled in a burst of anger, his Italian accent becoming more pronounced, "I said... Did you sleep with him?!" His voice startled Camilla, and she flinched, finally looking up to meet his gaze.

Edward had never shown such anger or hostility toward her before. At that moment, he appeared nothing like the calm, collected, and rational person she had always known him to be.

With her voice trembling, Camilla finally answered, "Yes..." The admission hung heavy in the air, and the silence that followed was suffocating.

Edward's face contorted, reflecting a mixture of disbelief, anger, and pain. Camilla could see that he was struggling to process what she had just confessed.

Time seemed to slow as Edward turned away from Camilla, his hands clenched into fists at his sides.

His breaths were heavy, and the room felt charged with the intensity of his emotions.

Camilla couldn't help but feel a profound sense of regret and guilt wash over her as she witnessed Edward's reaction.

She had hoped that coming clean would somehow lessen the blow, but it appeared that the truth had ignited a raging emotional storm instead.

Alexander, who had comfortably taken his seat on the couch, decided to break the suffocating silence with a casual yawn.

His indifference to the escalating situation was evident in his eyes as he stared up at a seething and furious Edward.

"So...When are you leaving?" he nonchalantly asked, his tone dripping with unconcern.

Edward couldn't contain his rage, and he spat out, "Shut your mouth!... Shut your damn mouth!"

His voice was venomous, and he seemed ready to lunge at Alexander, but Camilla swiftly stepped in, forcing him to come to a halt.

After a few moments, Edward took a step back, still seething with anger.

He stared at Camilla, who returned his gaze with pleading gray eyes.

She trembled as she tried to speak, apologizing, "Edward, I'm... so sorry. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. It was a mistake."

Edward's eyes narrowed, filled with a painful mix of betrayal and anger. "A mistake? That's what you call this?"

He shook his head with a deep sense of disappointment and heartbreak.

Without another word, he turned around and walked out of the apartment, leaving Camilla standing there with a heavy heart, the weight of her actions pressing down on her.

In the midst of the lingering silence, Alexander's nonchalant voice cut through, "So last night was a mistake?..."

Camilla shot him a venomous glare, her voice trembling with anger as she accused, "This is all your fault. You came here and ruined everything."

Alexander, sounding bewildered, responded, "How?!" His tone implied he was genuinely puzzled by her accusation.

"Yes, I came here, but you were the one who kissed me!" Alexander retorted, his voice laced with frustration.

"I remember you begging me not to stop and telling me how much you missed me. So how is any of this my fault?"

Camilla's face turned a deep shade of red as her frustration and embarrassment grew.

She felt like the ground was crumbling beneath her feet. Everything had spiraled out of control, and she was left grappling with the consequences of her actions.

"Even if that did happen," Camilla replied, her voice trembling, "You were the one who seduced me."

"Seduced you?!" Alexander exclaimed, his tone becoming increasingly hysterical. "I was drunk, Camilla! How could I have been the one to seduce you?"

Camilla leveled a cold stare at him. "If you were really drunk, then how were you able to remember that I kissed you first... and even pinpoint all those ridiculous things you claimed I was saying, huh?"

She paused, letting her words sink in. "I told you to stay away from me, but you didn't listen."

"And now... now I suppose you're satisfied with what just happened, right?" She finished with exasperation, walking away and heading to the bed, with Alexander following closely behind.

"Camilla... Camilla, wait," he implored, grabbing her arm gently to halt her. She turned around, her expression a tumultuous mix of anger, confusion, and sadness.

"I messed up, okay? I know I did," Alexander admitted with a heavy sigh. "And I'm sorry for that. I never intended for any of this to happen."

Camilla's eyes held a blend of frustration and hurt as she forcefully removed Alexander's hand from her arm.

Without uttering a word, she turned and walked into the room.

Her movements were swift and deliberate as she picked up his scattered clothes from the floor and began handing them to him, her voice cold and devoid of emotion.

"Get dressed and get out," she commanded, her gaze unwavering.

Alexander stood there for a moment, torn between wanting to speak and recognizing that his presence had already caused too much turmoil.

Ultimately, he decided to respect her wishes and started putting on his clothes in silence, each action weighed down by the heavy atmosphere of the room.

Alexander, now fully dressed, approached the front door and reached for the handle.

However, before opening it, he hesitated and turned back to face Camilla. The room was filled with tension, and his words carried the weight of his emotions.

"I'm sorry about Edward, but if I had the chance to go back... I wouldn't change what happened between us last night," he declared firmly.

Without waiting for Camilla's response or even giving her a chance to acknowledge his statement, he closed the door behind him.

Camilla was left standing alone in the room, her eyes brimming with angry tears.

The echoes of their intimate encounter lingered in the air, leaving her to grapple with the complex mix of emotions that swirled within her.
