Chapter 1254: Are You A Medical Expert?

Chapter 1254: Are You A Medical Expert?

As the caravan arrived at Aurora City, the bustling streets were awash with the vibrant colors of a lively metropolis. The grand caravan, with its imposing size and intricate decorations, rumbled through the city gates, drawing a brief but significant pause in the activity around it. Despite the caravan’s impressive appearance, it failed to evoke any notable reaction from the city’s inhabitants beyond a fleeting glance.

The denizens of Aurora City were accustomed to spectacles, and the caravan’s grandeur was overshadowed by the city’s own daily bustle. The lively chatter of merchants hawking their wares, the clamor of children playing in the streets, and the rhythmic hum of everyday life continued unabated, almost as if the caravan was just another part of the city’s backdrop.

Lyon surveyed the cityscape with a thoughtful gaze, noting the contrasting serenity and the indifferent nature of the crowd. The city’s architecture was a blend of elegance and practicality, with towering spires reaching toward the sky, adorned with intricate designs that spoke of both wealth and history. The streets were paved with smooth, polished stones, and the air carried the mixed aromas of street food and blooming flowers from the nearby gardens.

Yoji, observing the lack of attention from the locals, commented with a wry smile, "It seems the grandeur of our caravan is just another drop in the ocean of Aurora City’s daily life."

"Indeed," Lyon agreed, his eyes scanning the surroundings with keen interest. "This city must be used to impressive sights. We should make our way to the center of the city and find out more about the child and the renowned physicians."

As the caravan continued its journey through the city, the residents resumed their activities, the momentary curiosity about the massive vehicle fading into the background noise of the city’s life. The caravan, though an imposing presence, was merely another thread in the rich tapestry of Aurora City’s daily routine.

Lyon turned his gaze towards Cecile, his eyes reflecting a natural confidence in her abilities. "Now where should we start?"

Cecile met his gaze with a calm, knowing smile. "Why not ask around? A sick child of such notoriety and a gathering of top physicians aren’t likely to remain hidden for long, especially with a case as critical as this one."

Before Lyon could respond, Yoji’s voice cut through the conversation, carrying a note of excitement. "Found it."

Lyon leaned forward, peering out of the caravan window as Yoji gestured towards the cityscape. His eyes lit up with recognition. "The clinic, of course."

The clinic was a grand edifice, its architecture combining practicality with a touch of opulence. Tall, wide windows allowed ample sunlight to filter through, bathing the interior in a warm, inviting glow. The building was surrounded by an aura of tranquility, a stark contrast to the bustling activity of the city outside.

"Seems like our next destination is set," Lyon said, a smile tugging at his lips. He turned to his companions, who were preparing to disembark.

The caravan came to a halt in front of the clinic, and Lyon could see a steady stream of people entering and exiting the building. The atmosphere around the clinic was one of anxious anticipation, underscored by the solemn faces of those waiting outside.

Cecile and Yoji joined Lyon as they stepped down from the caravan, their presence marked by an air of purpose and readiness. Lyon’s gaze lingered on the clinic, his mind already formulating a plan to navigate through the medical and social complexities that awaited them within.

As the caravan came to a halt, Maria, Harvestasya, and Selena gracefully descended, their expressions reflecting a mix of determination and curiosity. Cecile, ever the voice of reason, turned to the rest of the group.

"The rest of you should not come to the clinic," Cecile instructed, her tone leaving no room for argument. "The more people there are, the more tense the situation will become. If you’re bored, just roam the city."

Kesya, ever the energetic spirit, was the first to react. With a burst of excitement, she dashed away from the caravan, eager to explore the unfamiliar surroundings of Aurora City.

Lyon observed the lively scene with a smile, his hand resting casually on his waist. He watched as the others scattered, each finding their own way to entertain themselves in the vibrant city.

Cecile then turned her attention to Assid. "Here is the pocket money. Splurge if you want."

Assid accepted the spatial ring with a respectful bow. "I will allocate it accordingly, Empress," he said with a composed nod before joining the others in their exploration.

As Lyon and Cecile stood by the clinic, the bustling city around them seemed to pulse with life. The clinic itself, with its serene presence, was a focal point amidst the chaos, promising answers and solutions to the critical case that had drawn their attention.

"I’m sorry, sir, but you are not allowed to park here," a scholar greeted with a warm smile, his eyes twinkling with curiosity.

"Ah, my bad," Lyon responded, signaling to Yoji to move the caravan. "I’ll find a more suitable parking spot."

"Thank you very much, sir," Habal said with a nod. "My name is Habal. It looks like you are a newcomer to this city."

"Lyon," Lyon introduced himself, pointing to each of his companions as he spoke. "This is Cecile, Maria, Harvestasya, and Selena. Indeed, we’re new here, and we’re looking for the legendary physician."

Habal’s smile faltered slightly as he shook his head. "Ah, I’m afraid the legendary physician is not in the clinic. In fact, she has never stepped foot inside the clinic. However, you are in luck—the clinic is currently hosting the young master of Ouroboros! Miss Esmeralda herself!"

Lyon’s eyes brightened, and he nodded with a knowing smile. "Ah, so my prediction was correct. Thank you for the information, Habal."

Habal’s curiosity was piqued, and he leaned in slightly. "Excuse me, sir, are you a medical expert as well?"

"Hmm?" Lyon raised his brows in surprise. "Why do you ask?"

Habal’s eyes gleamed with intrigue. "Ah, well, the curious case of the sickening child has attracted physicians from all corners of the heavens! So I might have assumed you were one."

Cecile, who had been quietly observing, interjected. "The Life element cultivators are gathering here, I presume?"

Habal nodded enthusiastically. "Indeed! They are all here, each contributing their own theories and deductions. Some argue that the disease is unprecedented, while others believe it is a variant of an existing ailment."

"I see," Lyon mused thoughtfully. "I’m not a medical expert myself, though my wife is!"

With a playful grin, Lyon pulled Maria to his side and held her by the shoulders. Maria’s cheeks flushed a bright shade of pink as she looked away, clearly flustered.

"L-Lyon, please..." Maria stammered, her voice barely above a whisper.

Habal’s eyes widened in realization. "O-Oh! Then please, right this way!" He gestured eagerly, his excitement palpable. "I’m sure the clinic would be more than happy to have an expert of your caliber join the discussions."

With that, Habal led Lyon, Maria, and the rest of the group towards the clinic, their anticipation growing as they approached their destination.
