Chapter 1195: Go, Luce
Chapter 1195: Go, Luce
As the seers descended upon the Golem City, Yala, the Princess of the Elven Empire, watched in astonishment from the city’s grand plaza. Never before had she seen such a spectacle—a procession of majestic pegasi pulling ornate carriages, each bearing seers of unparalleled power and wisdom. The air hummed with anticipation as the seers alighted from their carriages, their presence commanding respect and reverence.
Yala couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe as she observed the seers gathering in one place, their solemn demeanor contrasting sharply with the bustling activity of the golems around them. It was a sight that filled her with both curiosity and trepidation, as she wondered what knowledge and insights these revered beings held within their ranks.
As the seers exchanged greetings and shared solemn looks, Yala sensed the weight of their presence, the gravity of their purpose. She knew that they had come to bear witness to the aftermath of a great battle, to offer guidance and wisdom in the face of uncertainty.
Amidst the gathering, Yala found herself drawn to Luce Veritas, the revered Mother Clairvoyance, whose calm demeanor belied the depth of her insight. She watched as Luce conversed with the other seers, her words carrying a weight that resonated with all who listened.
"Mother Luce, what happened in Sixth Hell?" Vivi asked, her voice tinged with concern as she glanced at the devastation below.
Luce sighed heavily before responding, "It was a fierce battle, one that shook the very fabric of the realm. Lyon and his allies faced formidable adversaries, and the aftermath is testament to the intensity of the conflict."
Lily nodded in understanding, her expression reflecting the gravity of the situation. "We saw the aftermath from above, but the extent of the destruction is truly sobering."
"It was a necessary battle," Luce continued, her tone somber. "But the cost was high. Many lives were lost, and the repercussions will be felt for some time."
Vivi and Lily exchanged a worried glance, their concern evident. "Is Lyon... all right?" Vivi asked hesitantly.
"It seems like I am so."
As Lyon made his entrance with a confident smile, the atmosphere shifted subtly in the presence of the revered seers. Their eyes widened in awe and reverence, their expressions a mixture of curiosity, admiration, and perhaps a hint of apprehension. For many of them, it was their first time meeting the legendary figure, and the intensity of their emotions was palpable.
Vivi, Lily, and the others turned their attention to Lyon, their gazes fixed on him with a mixture of respect and curiosity. They had heard tales of his legendary exploits, but to see him in person was an entirely different experience. There was a sense of anticipation in the air as they waited to hear his words, to glean wisdom from his presence.
"Look at him, he’s even more handsome than the stories say."
"His aura... it’s like nothing I’ve ever felt before."
"I heard he defeated an entire army single-handedly. Imagine having that kind of power."
"He’s like a living legend walking among us."
"Sister Vivi and Lily’s descriptions didn’t do him justice at all."
The murmurs continued as Lyon approached, each seer unable to tear their gaze away from the legendary figure in their midst. It was a moment they would never forget, standing in the presence of greatness, their hearts filled with a newfound sense of reverence and admiration.
Lyon’s voice, calm and welcoming, cut through the murmurs of the seers as he addressed Lily and Vivi with a warm smile. "It’s been a while, you two."
Vivi’s cheeks flushed crimson, her heart fluttering at Lyon’s words, while Lily, overcome with shyness, bashfully hid her face behind her arm, unable to meet Lyon’s gaze directly.
Luce’s soft cough gently redirected the attention back to her. "It seems like you girls are looking for me."
Vivi, still flushed with embarrassment, quickly responded, "Mother Luce, are you alright?"
Luce’s lips twitched with amusement. "It’s a bit late for that kind of question, don’t you think, Vivi?"
Lyon’s laughter filled the room, drawing curious glances from the seers. "Your Mother Luce is perfectly fine, in fact, I owe her a great deal, a succulent deal."
The seers exchanged puzzled glances, their minds racing with speculation. Luce, however, interjected with a gentle plea, "Lyon, please."
Lyon’s hand gently pressed against Luce’s back, urging her forward. She turned to him, raising her brows in silent inquiry.
"Go, Luce," Lyon said with a nod, his gaze firm and resolute.
Luce hesitated for a moment, but the determination in Lyon’s eyes dispelled any doubt she had. With a nod of understanding, she closed her lips, accepting his silent instruction.
Turning back to the seers, Luce addressed them with authority. "Alright, girls, let’s go home."
Though the seers remained curious, Mother Luce’s words left no room for argument. With a mixture of lingering questions and reluctant compliance, they followed her lead, casting curious glances back at Lyon before departing.
Lyon’s gaze followed the departing seers and their pegasus drivers, his expression serious despite the beauty of the surrounding scenery.
Meanwhile, Luce, riding her own pegasus, wrestled with her inner conflict. "As a seer, I should merely give guidance and not take sides," she thought to herself, tightening her grip on the reins. But then, with determination in her eyes, she spoke silently to Lyon, "But you must win, Lyon."
With those words echoing in her mind, Luce urged her pegasus forward, its wings unfurling as they embarked on their journey along the Pegasus Road.
As Lyon closed his eyes, he took a deep, steadying breath through his nose. His resolve hardened with each breath, fueled by the memory of his fallen child. In his mind’s eye, he saw the face of his lost son, a reminder of the price that had been paid.
"Purgatory must fall," he vowed silently, his determination unwavering. In his son’s name, he would see justice served.
Lyon turned and was slightly surprised to see Yala looking at him. He smiled as he patted her head before continuing back inside the Harvestasya’s house.
