Chapter 1027 - 1066: He Doesn’t Want This Child
In the room, it was completely dark. He didn’t turn on the light, instead relying on a sliver of moonlight filtering through the window as he walked directly to her bedside.
His gaze fixed steadily on her sleeping face, his expression complex. She was pregnant, and to him, it was like a bolt of lightning, leaving him utterly shocked and stunned.
He had thought that after undergoing a vasectomy, she would never be able to get pregnant, but reality had given him a ridiculous slap in the face.
So he quickly went for an examination, and the result was that the vasectomy had not been successful.
He knew she was hoping for a child between them, but he was determined not to let a child be born, "Mabel, will you blame me?" he murmured.
Even though he knew the person already asleep couldn’t possibly give him any response.
The next day, when Mabel Quinn woke up, she only saw Kyle Kinston asleep at her bedside, with just a thin blanket over him.
She bit her lip gently. This time she had a car accident, and it must have worried him. When did he come back last night?
As she thought about it, she gently lifted her hand and touched his head.
He seemed to sense it and moved slightly. She quickly withdrew her hand, but saw that he had already raised his head. His dark phoenix eyes, with a hint of drowsiness from waking up, looked at her, then gradually became clear.
"Sorry, did I wake you?" Mabel asked.
He shook his head, "I slept too heavily. How about you? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
"No, apart from the places that got scratched and bruised in yesterday’s car accident, I don’t feel uncomfortable anywhere," she replied.
"Then I’ll carry you to wash up first, and then I’ll have someone prepare breakfast," he said.
"No need, I can wash up myself in the bathroom," Mabel said, but evidently this had little effect. Kyle had already picked her up and was taking her to the bathroom. He squeezed toothpaste for her and filled her cup with warm water. Mabel practically felt that he was just shy of brushing her teeth for her by hand.
After brushing her teeth, he washed her face with a warm water-soaked towel and even tied her hair.
Though his actions seemed somewhat clumsy, in the end, her ponytail was finished in his hands.
Looking at her well-groomed hair in the mirror, Mabel couldn’t help but say, "Someday you’ll make a great father. If our child is a daughter, would you style her hair every day? My dad used to style my hair when I was little, too."
Thinking of her father, Mabel felt a mix of sweetness and sadness.
Kyle remained silent, his eyes slightly downcast, "Do you hope for a daughter?"
"Either a son or a daughter is fine," she replied. "I would love them just the same. How about you, do you hope for a son or a daughter?"
He paused briefly. He had never anticipated having their child, "Mabel, do you really want this child so much?"
"Because this is our child," she said. To her, it was like an unexpected gift from heaven.
His heart sank. If he told her he didn’t want this child, how would she react?
After Kyle had finished washing up, the two of them had breakfast together. Mabel said, "I want to go see Uncle again. I wonder how he is doing? Is he any better?"
