"Uncle, why did you suddenly ask that?" Mabel Quinn said.

"No... nothing." Edward Quinn replied reluctantly, his mind a swirl of complex emotions.

The two got in the car, and as Edward Quinn started the engine, he asked Mabel Quinn, "Where are you headed?"

"Back to the Manor," Mabel replied.

Edward Quinn drove the car towards the Manor, yet during the drive, he couldn’t help but glance at Mabel Quinn from time to time. Even Mabel could sense Edward’s odd behavior.

"Uncle, is there something on my face?" she asked, unable to hold back.
