Chapter 608: Ch-608: Aftermath
"Not bad," Wang Ming nodded with a smile and tossed the blood outside the window.
"Huh?" Wang Ming frowned when he felt something was off and looked outside the window, his jaw dropping to the ground.
"What the hell? It's raining blood. Am I responsible for this?" Wang Ming said, swallowing hard. He also saw everyone lying unconscious on the ground. Then, all of a sudden, the rain stopped and people began to wake up, which made him sigh in relief.
"I'll play dumb and act like I don't know anything, umu," Wang Ming muttered. If he admitted that he was the one responsible, he would have no way to explain unless he revealed the Crimson Blood Devourer, which he had no intention of talking about.
Wang Ming then stepped backward and felt that there was another soul weapon inside his body along with his Abyss Dagger. He then looked at his hand and willed the Crimson Blood Devourer to appear in it.
Drip
As soon as he willed it, large amounts of blood directly appeared on his palms, and the blood quickly condensed together, forming the shape of a sword made of blood. Soon, the Crimson Blood Devourer appeared in all of its glory.
As soon as he grabbed the hilt of the sword, he muttered, "Using the sword as a conductor, I feel like the power of blood has increased."
Wang Ming could feel that his control over blood had increased drastically just by grabbing the sword. Not only that, he felt like he could summon a river of blood and directly control the entire river. Previously, he thought his proficiency over the Blood Law was pretty high, but to reach the current stage of efficiency when he used the sword, he still needed time.
"Whatever, at least I have a proper sword to be used with sword techniques," Wang Ming mumbled as he felt that if he used his sword techniques, the power and damage they dealt would increase at least threefold.
Roar
Wang Ming willed it, and sword intent flowed through the Crimson Blood Devourer. This time, the dragon phantom behind him was at least twice as large. He looked at it in satisfaction and said, "Hmm, not bad."
----------
"Ugh…"
"My head…"
Wu Jing and Min Li, who were unconscious on the ground, slowly opened their eyes, and the first thing they felt was a severe headache.
"What the hell was that? How did I faint?" Wu Jing said with a groan as she rubbed her temples and looked up, noticing that the blood rain had stopped.
"What in the heavens—" Suddenly, she heard Min Li scream and noticed her looking around with her mouth open.
She followed her gaze, and her pupils contracted to the size of needles when she saw her surroundings. "Heavens…"
She covered her mouth with her hands as she looked at the surroundings, which were flooded with red liquid, and from the smell, it was blood.
"How much did it rain, and how long did we lose consciousness for?" Min Li said in disbelief as she looked around. She hurriedly stood up, and the blood reached up to her ankles. She saw thousands of residents who were almost submerged in the blood.
The other people also started to regain consciousness, and when they saw the scene, their faces turned pale with horror.
"What the hell happened? How come there is so much blood?"
"I have been staying in Golden Leaf City and have never seen such a bizarre scene."
"Golden Leaf City?! I am a merchant and have traveled to every kingdom, and I have never witnessed such an eerie scene."
"This city is cursed. So many bad things have happened recently. Is the city even safe?"
"Yeah, I am never coming back to this city ever again."
"Me too, I am thinking about moving out of the city."
"This is not good," Min Li, who heard the conversation, frowned. If the king and the Patriarchs could not give a proper explanation quickly and contain the panic, then many people would leave the capital, and it would become infamous. In the future, merchants would refuse to come, which would cause the city to decline.
"Oh right, let's go find Wang Ming. Weren't we about to find him and ask what was happening? Maybe he has some answers," Min Li said suddenly, and Wu Jing's eyes lit up.
"Yes, you are right," Wu Jing said as she nodded her head in agreement and both dashed toward Wang Ming's place.

Step Step
"You girls, what are you doing here?" Wang Ming asked with a completely innocent gaze, as if he were not the one responsible for this mess.
"Wang Ming, have you seen what's going on outside? It was freaking raining blood!" Wu Jing said exasperatedly as she raised her hand in the air in frustration.
"Yeah, I did see it after I regained my consciousness," Wang Ming said as he nodded his head.
"Wang Ming, do you know what caused this?" Wu Jing asked hurriedly.
"Of course not. How would I know? I am just as confused as you two," Wang Ming lied with a straight face.
"You really don't know?" Min Li asked suspiciously, as Wang Ming indifferently looked at her and said, "I am not all-knowing. How do you expect me to know everything?"
Wang Ming shrugged his shoulders as he said that.
"Sigh, Wang Ming, I need to check on my father," Wu Jing said, and Min Li followed.
"Huff… I dodged a bullet," Wang Ming said as he wiped the sweat from his forehead.

One Week Later
The aftermath was significant, and many moved out of the city thinking it was cursed, but the king and the Patriarchs had managed to retain most of the population by offering many benefits like tax grants, cheaper lands, etc.
Wang Ming was sitting cross-legged in his room as he was trying to cultivate his soul with his Soul Technique.
Knock Knock
"Hmm?" Wang Ming opened his eyes and furrowed his brows when he heard knocks on his door. He opened it and was stunned by the sight.
