Chapter 600: Ch-600
Chapter 600: Ch-600
As they walked through the spacious streets paved with blue stones, they were greeted by bustling shops and an increasing flow of people buying various cultivation resources.
It took them nearly half an hour to walk through the city before they arrived at the site of the Immortal Sword Sect.
The first thing they saw was a tall, solemn gate—a majestic door made of gold, inscribed with arrays.
Wang Ming watched the new recruits standing in front of the gate while an elder looked down on the examination.
"Welcome to the annual Immortal Sword Sect entrance examination. Before we start, all non-sword cultivators or people who cannot resist this pressure, please leave the area. We only admit sword cultivators with a strong foundation. If you cannot withstand this weak pressure, you have no place here," the elder said as he looked around and released a bit of his sword pressure. A few faces turned pale, and they left the area.
"Good, now we will begin the annual examina—" he paused mid-sentence and narrowed his eyes at Tian Chenyu and Mu Bingxue, who were walking toward them.
"You must be here for the test, but you two are late. You can apply next year," the elder at the site said, thinking both of them had come for the entrance examination, while the crowd started to snicker.
"Tsk, what bad luck. They are just late by a few seconds."
"Yeah, I think the elder is being too harsh."
"What harsh? I have been waiting in front of the gate for two days. They are not serious."
"Damn, but look at this girl, she is smoking hot."
Tian Chenyu did not acknowledge the elder, nor did Mu Bingxue, and they kept walking forward, completely ignoring him, which made him flush with anger.
"Hey, you two bastards, stop! Didn’t you hear me? Don’t make me come and toss you out," the elder said in a loud voice.
Suddenly, he felt a pressure descend on his bloodline and felt his soul trembling under it. It was as if a god were looking down on a mortal.
’Damn... this pressure... an Eternal. Why the hell didn’t you mention that you two are Eternals?’ the elder wanted to cry but had no tears.
"What did you say, insect?" Mu Bingxue said in utter disdain. In the eyes of Eternals, non-Eternals were no different from slaves.
"Forgive my ignorance," the elder hurriedly kowtowed toward both of them.
"Don’t be too harsh on him," Tian Chenyu said as he rubbed his temples and wore the robe of a Core Disciple. Mu Bingxue did the same and followed behind him.
’Heavens... he is a Core Disciple. But why don’t I recognize him? No, wait—didn’t I hear the rumors that there was a new disciple coming?’ The elder broke out in a cold sweat and wiped it away, feeling lucky to have met a good-natured one. If he had met those vile Eternals who liked to turn random people into slaves and torture them for amusement, he would have been finished. The others in the crowd who had mocked them also thanked the heavens for avoiding calamity.
When Tian Chenyu stepped inside the sect, he saw a crowd of disciples dressed in purple robes walking and chatting among themselves. The first thing he noticed was the concentration of spiritual energy, which was at least a thousand times higher than in the Yang Ying Sect back in the real world.
As they kept walking forward, many of them looked at them with curious eyes.
He looked around and stopped a disciple from the outer sect, who stiffened as he thought he had offended a Core Disciple and bowed with a pale face. "I-I apologize, Senior Eternal."
"Why are you apologizing to me?" Tian Chenyu asked in bewilderment.
"I don’t know," the disciple said, almost bursting into tears, looking completely terrified.
"Damn, is he dead?"
"Shit, what did he do to get on the bad side of an Eternal?"
"Did he breathe the same air as him, or did he get stopped because he looked him in the eye? Eternals have bizarre reasons to get offended."
Hearing the chatter around him, Tian Chenyu’s lips twitched, and he rubbed his temples. ’Damn, Eternals are even worse than young masters.’
"We really have a bad reputation, don’t we?" Tian Chenyu said, and Mu Bingxue’s lips also twitched.
"Yeah, some Eternals are a bit too much and too arrogant. That’s why all of us have a bad reputation among them. I personally know a few arrogant ones from the Tian Family," Mu Bingxue said with a shrug. It wasn’t their fault, as many of them were taught that Eternals were superior and all human beings were inferior, so many of them developed a god complex.
"Chill, I just wanted to ask where I can find the sect leader," Tian Chenyu said.
"Eh, you’re not going to torture me?" the disciple’s eyes widened as he looked at Tian Chenyu in disbelief, as if seeing a different creature for the first time in his life.
"Hey, just answer. I’m getting very annoyed. If you keep talking nonsense, I might just kill you," Mu Bingxue snapped.
"Yes, yes, you can find the sect leader over there," the disciple said hurriedly in fear, pointing at the large sword-shaped gate leading to a mountain.
"I see. You can leave." Hearing this, the disciple bolted.
Tian Chenyu and Mu Bingxue walked through the inner court area next, and this time people were much calmer. Some of them even recognized that they were Eternals.
"Hey, look, that looks like the new Core Disciple we heard about."
"Hmm, I heard he is a member of the Tian Family."
"Oh, another Eternal."
"Sigh, I wish I was born an Eternal. They get directly promoted to Core Disciples, while we have to go through tests and complete numerous missions."
Tian Chenyu and Mu Bingxue ignored the chatter, and as soon as they arrived at the sword-shaped gate, they felt a prickling sensation on their skin.
