Chapter 98: Celestial Judge vs. the Saint Equal to Heaven
Chapter 98: Celestial Judge vs. the Saint Equal to Heaven
BaiShe, hands still crossed behind his back, directed his blades by the simple force of his will. Each time Wukong’s staff approached, a dozen illusory swords came to shatter against it to deflect its trajectory.
However, sensing that Wukong was increasing his power to the Overlord level, BaiShe decided to change his approach.
The Elders had all remained, watching the spectacle...
Xia Fei wondered if he should stop the fight, but she wanted so badly to see the extent of her man’s power that she did nothing.
< Art of Frost: Prison of Ice of the Eternal Winter >
A wave of absolute cold spread instantly from BaiShe’s feet. The air crystallized, and massive ice structures surged from the ground to imprison Wukong’s legs. But the Saint Equal to Heaven roared, his Body of Origin Rock emitting a wild heat that made the frost crack before it could fully solidify.
"You think you can freeze the fire of the heavens?" launched Wukong while activating his law.
< Law: Strike of Celestial Anarchy >
The Celestial Pillar illuminated with a chaotic aura. The staff strike that followed completely ignored the barrier of illusory swords, passing through them as if they did not exist.
BaiShe was forced to take his hand out from behind his back to intercept the blow. He used his Dragon Authority inherited from Long Huang to harden his palm.
Golden and black scales appeared briefly on his forearm as he blocked the staff with his bare hand.
"You hide your game well, little lizard," observed Wukong, his amber eyes fixed on BaiShe’s scales. "This is not ordinary human Qi."
"Logic dictates that one adapts to the savagery of one’s interlocutor," retorted BaiShe.
Suddenly, the Yin-Yang symbol on BaiShe’s forehead began to shine with an unbearable brilliance. Having assimilated Huojin’s powers, he released the Will of the Celestial Dao.
"< Law: Authority of the Dao >"
A shock wave of pure authority crashed down on Wukong, seeking to force him to physically bow before the Judge of the Dao. The gravity around the monkey was multiplied by a hundred, the slabs under his feet sinking several centimeters. The Elders in the stands stood up, stunned by this aura they knew all too well: that of the Executor.
However, Wukong was not an ordinary cultivator. His Indomitable Heart actively rejected this divine authority. He straightened up, the muscles in his arms tensed to the breaking point.
"The Dao has no power over me! I am Anarchy!" shouted Wukong while striking the ground with his staff.
BaiShe, understanding that ranged arts would not suffice, made his Draconic Bone Sword appear.
The two warriors engaged in close combat.
The bone sword, vibrating at a frequency that made space groan, clashed with the Celestial Pillar in a deafening crash. Each exchange of blows released bursts of qi.
"You fight like a demon while wearing the symbol of the Dao... What a delicious irony, BaiShe!" mocked Wukong between two parries.
[Ding! Combat intensity: Critical!]
[Sun Wukong uses his Overlord power!]
[Alert: The Law of Anarchy disrupts the Will of the Dao!]
< Arts: Myriad of Monkey King Impacts >
In one second, thousands of staff strikes rained down on BaiShe. The latter, using his Third Eye, perceived each trajectory even before it was completed [18]. He combined his Icy Illusory Sword to create ice replicas of his bone sword, parrying each impact with precision.
Yet, Wukong’s raw physical strength was beginning to weigh.
"You are enduring for a scholar... but how long can your body withstand this duel?" asked Wukong, sweat finally beginning to bead on his forehead.
"You talk too much, Sun Wukong," retorted BaiShe.
He suddenly released a Draconic Qi Explosion, a golden shock wave...
The monkey was thrown backward, but he recovered in mid-air on his Jindun cloud, his gaze more inflamed than ever.
The arena of the meeting hall was now nothing but a field of ruins.
BaiShe remained on the ground, his bone sword pointed toward the sky, while Wukong hovered above him, the Celestial Pillar crackling with rebellious energy.
The Elders, including Pangu, observed the scene with growing concern.
They realized that these two beings were not only fighting for a title, but that they would probably destroy the entire sect.
"It is not over..." murmured Wukong, gripping his staff tighter.
"Indeed,"
"The entertainment is only just beginning."
Without warning, he brought his hand to his golden blonde and flamboyant hair, tore out a tuft with force and blew on it with a mischievous grin.
The hairs multiplied in the air to instantly transform into about fifteen perfect replicas of himself. Each clone possessed an athletic and agile stature, wielding a reduced version of the Celestial Pillar with perfect synchronization.
Although each possessed only one tenth of the original Overlord’s power, the combined spiritual pressure made the foundations of the hall crack.
"Tell me, BaiShe... You are already in divine Cultivation, right? If you hold back I will humiliate you..." launched the real Sun Wukong, his voice resonating with arrogance.
Xuan BaiShe remained motionless for a moment, hands crossed behind his back in his usual posture of nonchalant young scholar.
He found Wukong’s behavior primitive, but he could not ignore the danger represented by this Law of Celestial Anarchy that was beginning to disrupt his own Qi.
Consequently, BaiShe furrowed his brows, a rare sign of annoyance that did not escape his adoptive sister, Xuan Ling, who observed the scene with palpable suspicion from the stands.
’He dares provoke me with such artifices...’ thought BaiShe, while his Omega Heart began to beat with increased violence to stabilize his energy.
Without waiting for a response, Sun Wukong and his clones rushed simultaneously toward the center of the arena. The real Wukong flew at the head, his Jindun cloud leaving a golden trail behind him.
BaiShe did not retreat. He propelled himself forward, his black tunic with silver embroidery flapping in the wind created by his own movement.
The sound of the Celestial Pillars striking BaiShe’s invisible blades produced a series of sonic explosions.
< Arts: Myriad of Illusory Swords >
He parried the staff strikes that rained from all sides.
