Chapter 451 - 183 The Other Side Unknown to Others
After the opening ceremony ended, it was time for a group photo for everyone to commemorate the event.
Then, the team leaders guided their respective teams to the examination venues to familiarize themselves with the locations where they would be tested over the next two days.
All participants were randomly reassigned to examination rooms by the system. This winter camp gathered 538 participants from across the nation, with 30 people per room, totaling 18 examination rooms. Shen You’an was assigned to the third room, along with Hao Yun and Yan Lu, while Liu Runxi was in the fourth room and Gao Yuyue in the thirteenth.
Shen You’an and Liu Runxi’s assigned rooms were very close to each other. The two walked side by side, casually discussing the approach to a math problem.
At this moment, a surprised and delighted voice called out from behind, "Runxi-ge!"
Liu Runxi paused in his steps.
Jing Zhan came running up excitedly, circling in front of the two with exuberance as she greeted them.
"It really is you, Runxi-ge! I’ve been looking for you all morning."
Liu Runxi maintained a distant expression, merely nodding slightly as a form of acknowledgment.
Coming down from her initial excitement, Jing Zhan’s wary gaze fell on the girl in all black beside him. Wearing a baseball cap and mask, her face was obscured, giving her an air of mystery.
Jing Zhan scrutinized her cautiously. "And this is...?"
Suddenly, she realized—this was the same person she had noticed earlier that morning stepping off the bus, the one Yu Ruohuan had been staring at intently.
Now standing right before her, although fully wrapped and concealed, the girl’s ethereal beauty and cold elegance were impossible to hide. Even the brief glimpse of her fair skin left an almost dazzling impression.
Liu Runxi had no desire for extended conversation and responded indifferently, "A classmate."
With that, he moved around Jing Zhan, intending to leave.
Jing Zhan quickly asked, "Runxi-ge, which room are you in?"
Liu Runxi maintained his composed demeanor, though a faint impatience crept into his expression.
"The fourth."
Jing Zhan’s eyes lit up. "What a coincidence! I’m in the fourth room too. And what about this sister here?"
Liu Runxi frowned subtly, disliking her incessant questioning.
"The third room," a serene, gentle voice interjected, clear and refreshing like a summer night breeze, comforting and soothing.
Jing Zhan was even more thrilled. "You’re in the same room as Sister Yu then! Oh, right, I’m here on Sister Yu’s behalf to check out the venue."
She waved the two examination passes in her hand.
Liu Runxi glanced at Shen You’an, who nodded slightly.
Seeing this, Liu Runxi said no more and went past them to the adjacent fourth room.
Jing Zhan did not miss the glance shared between the two and narrowed her eyes slightly. But soon, she smiled sweetly.
"Pretty sister, you seem quite close to Runxi-ge. Are you classmates?"
Shen You’an entered the room and replied apathetically, "What do you think?"
Jing Zhan cheerfully followed behind her. "But you and Runxi-ge... it’s never going to work out. You might as well give up now to save yourself from getting hurt later."
The young girl spoke the most venomous words in the sweetest tone.
Shen You’an stopped in her tracks and cast a sidelong glance at her.
The brilliance in her eyes could not be concealed, even behind the glasses. Dark and profound, they watched Jing Zhan silently, giving her a sudden, bone-deep chill, as if she had been plunged into an icy abyss.
It was even more suffocating than facing her most feared grandfather.
"Whether I have an outcome with him or not, what does that have to do with you? Who are you to him?"
This tone...
Did she actually want to have something with Runxi-ge?
"Runxi-ge and I grew up together, childhood friends. What we share is something you could never compare to. You’d better see reason—"
"Oh really? But from what I see, it seems Runxi-ge couldn’t care less about you. Could it just be wishful thinking on your part?"
Jing Zhan’s expression darkened like a storm cloud.
"And you? Aren’t you the one being wishful?"
"What’s it to you?"
Shen You’an couldn’t be bothered to engage further with this high-schooler whose thought process defied logic.
After locating her seat, she turned and walked away.
Though frustrated, Jing Zhan did not forget her primary task.
She glanced at the desk bearing Yu Ruohuan’s examination pass, then looked at the desk in front.
Their seats turned out to be right next to each other.
When she raised her head again, the girl in black had already left the room, walking out with Liu Runxi, who had just exited his own fourth room. The two chatted along the way, their rapport easy and harmonious.
Jing Zhan stared after them, not noticing until later that her grip had crumpled the two examination passes in her hand. The photo on Yu Ruohuan’s pass now bore slight creases, her face slightly distorted.
Soon after, Jing Zhan’s lips curved into a mocking smile. She smoothed the creases on the exam pass and murmured to the person in the photo.
"Sister Yu, don’t let me down."

"Sorry about that," Liu Runxi said, a slight flush coloring his face.
"It’s fine. Just a little kid," Shen You’an replied indifferently.
"An’an," Yan Lu and Gao Yuyue called out as they caught up to her.
