Dragon King Palace: Urban Affluent Son-in-Law

Chapter 784 784: Battle at the Summit!

Chapter 784 784: Battle at the Summit!

Boba Mountain Peak.

Jiang Feng and Dong Ruyan made their way up and finally witnessed what it means to have the drums and gongs blaring, and fireworks crackling in the air.

Because the King would also be coming up to watch the duel today, the royal palace had sent a squad of guards to Boba Mountain long before dawn.

Myanmar is a semi-presidential country, where the King is merely a symbol, and real power is held by the government.

However, much like the Sun Never Sets Empire, the royal family still holds a deeply rooted position in this country and remains the belief and spiritual reliance of the people.

Thus, the King's symbolic authority far surpasses that of the President.

The guards cordoned off the area to create an open space, both to protect the King and to set the stage for the duel between Jiang Feng and Hemeng.

Myanmar hasn't had such a grand event involving everyone for many years, and people came to Boba Mountain to watch the duel like ants, endlessly streaming in.

Jiang Feng and Dong Ruyan relied on their impressive footwork to arrive at the perimeter of the circle before the crowd, but they were immediately blocked by several guards wielding tridents!

They shouted "@#¥&*&%*@%!" in Burmese, their voices and faces fierce and stern.

"Speak in Chinese!" Jiang Feng frowned.

By now, he was quite familiar with Myanmar, knowing that this country was heavily influenced by China, and Chinese was almost like a second native language here, spoken by everyone.

But the guards exchanged glances and still spewed Burmese.

This was because they were the true elites of the royal palace, with pure roots, among the few who truly despised speaking Chinese.

Seeing this, Dong Ruyan had no choice but to step forward and say a few sentences to the guards, who immediately showed expressions of astonishment.

To think that this unimpressive-looking young man was actually the Chinese rogue who was going to duel with the Lord National Master!

At that moment, one of the guard captains sneered, directly pushing aside the tridents of his subordinates, and looked at Jiang Feng coldly, allowing him to pass with disdain.

Jiang Feng didn't take their contemptuous attitude to heart at all, strolling into the circle with Dong Ruyan.

Meanwhile, the crowd outside, seeing this, confirmed Jiang Feng was indeed the Chinese man challenging the National Master.

Immediately, even from a great distance, they began cursing and shouting at Jiang Feng angrily.

Some even wanted to throw the rotten eggs and tomatoes they'd brought with them at Jiang Feng.

Fortunately, the guards quickly stopped them—not with the intention of protecting Jiang Feng, but because the King would be arriving soon, and a trash-strewn area was unbecoming.

"The people of this country are too ignorant and foolish, no wonder China doesn't pay attention to such a small nation."

Dong Ruyan looked coldly at the still resentfully speaking and indignant crowd.

Jiang Feng, however, appeared unconcerned. Upon arriving in the center of the arena, he directly lay on a large rock.

With his hands behind his head, he closed his eyes and relaxed in a leisurely manner.

The crowd outside was even more infuriated by Jiang Feng's disregard, frenzied and shouting angrily.

But suddenly, the sound of hooves came from behind, causing the raging crowd to immediately fall silent.

Then, they all spontaneously knelt reverently and bowed towards the rear.

All the guards around the duel area also knelt with their tridents upright.

Dong Ruyan immediately understood that a truly significant figure had arrived!

Sure enough, at the entrance to the mountain path, several luxurious carriages arrived at the mountaintop with a majestic air under the escort of Palace Knights.

At the front was a dazzling golden carriage, also known as the Imperial Chariot.

Once the carriage team halted, a slightly overweight man in his fifties descended with the help of a Royal Knight.

This man, wearing a golden robe and a crown, was the Myanmar King!

From the carriages behind, the gracefully dignified Princess adorned in Phoenix Crown and Cloud Robe, along with two princes and a princess, respectively stepped out.

The King and his entourage appeared in the public eye, first waving to the crowd to command them to rise.

Once the crowd stood up, they cheered enthusiastically, shouting in unison, "Long live the King!"

The King, smiling, led his wife and children under the escort of the Royal Knights and Guard Captain to a richly adorned pavilion outside the arena.

There, platters of fruit, desserts, and champagne were displayed, all delicacies of the highest order.

"Hemeng really did invite the King." Dong Ruyan frowned as she watched the King's party take their seats in turn.

"He who the heavens wish to destroy, they first make mad."

Jiang Feng remained unconcerned, even crossing his legs, savoring the moment leisurely.

This provocative act even angered the two Princes, who disliked him and stood up to insult him.

At the critical moment, however, the King sternly stopped them.

To the King, Jiang Feng was about to become nothing more than a dead man; there was no need to have his noble sons engage with an ignorant Chinese fool.

After a long wait, cheers finally arose from below the mountain path, signaling the arrival of State Preceptor Hemeng's carriage!

They had been obstructed on the mountain road for some time before the Palace Guards forcibly cleared a path, though the crowd still surrounded them with great fervor.

Once the carriage halted, Hemeng emerged from the classic vehicle that signified his status, and headed directly towards the King's entourage, greeting the King and Princess.

"Hemeng, it's up to you now. That Chinese man is exceedingly arrogant. Execute him and raise our nation's prestige," the King said, shaking Hemeng's hand.

"Uncle Hemeng, I want you to cut off that Chinese man's head for me. I'll use it as a chamber pot!" The Eldest Prince, still seething, fumed ominously!

"Please rest assured, Your Majesty and Eldest Prince, Hemeng won't disappoint you!" Hemeng immediately vowed with confidence.

"Good, then we'll watch with anticipation! Go, and once you've successfully slain this brat, I'll issue a King's Order to make today a national day of celebration every year," the King said with a hearty laugh.

"Thank you, Your Majesty!"

With that, Hemeng at last turned his gaze to Jiang Feng, a cold smile curving his lips. With arrogance, he raised his long sword and approached.

"Brat, did you sleep well last night?"

Stepping into the arena, Hemeng looked at Jiang Feng with extreme disdain and asked.

"I slept very well, how about you?" Jiang Feng still crossed his legs, smiling as he replied.

"I also slept very well."

Hemeng squinted at Jiang Feng, then glanced at the charming Dong Ruxue beside him.

He imagined that Jiang Feng's good sleep might have been alongside this marvelous Chinese beauty last night. No matter, as long as he kills Jiang Feng, she will be his, unable to escape his grasp!

"Let's start, I can't wait any longer." Jiang Feng finally sat up, stretched lazily, and casually said to Hemeng.

Hemeng's expression abruptly tightened, "It seems you're still deluded, naively thinking you can defeat me?"

"Enough with the nonsense, I'm in a hurry to save someone and return home."

Jiang Feng jumped down from the rock and strode towards Hemeng.

"Haha, it seems I must kill you without mercy—or else it'd be unjust to your arrogance!"

With that, Hemeng stopped holding back, raising the long sword in his hand, pulled off the scabbard, and flung it to the ground.

In an instant, the long sword, radiating an intense light, was revealed!

A powerful and indescribable aura began to emanate from Hemeng, making his entire being sharp and unyielding, impossible to look directly at!
