Chapter 309: The Evil Saiyan Cumber

The mysterious masked figure extended a hand, and the dark purple sphere of Destruction energy actually halted the instant it touched his palm.

Everyone present shrank their pupils.

Then they saw the newcomer clench his hand into a fist, and the sphere of Destruction exploded on the spot, scattering into countless purple motes of light that faded away.

"Who are you?" Broly felt a long-lost sense of danger from him.

"That is not important. I only know that the one who summoned me here told me there was an opponent here who stood above all others in this timeline." The masked man answered coldly. "Come. Fight me."

The bloodthirsty light in his brown eyes was no less intense than Broly's.

"Battle and slaughter are the true meaning of a Saiyan's existence!"

Broly grinned. "Interesting. You do look far more entertaining than those insects."

"But!" He pointed at the man. "Anyone who gets in my way had better be ready to die!"

"As long as the fight satisfies me, what does it matter if I die in battle?"

Boom!

Two utterly terrifying auras erupted at once, instantly vaporizing the entire lake and exposing the cracked lakebed below.

At the center of their clashing auras, space shattered open, revealing a kaleidoscopic other dimension.

Everyone else was caught in the aftermath of the terrifying shockwave and had to struggle to steady themselves.

"Captain, this is bad." Ginyu's face was grave. "Another even more dangerous bastard has shown up, and he's a Saiyan with an incredibly evil aura."

"At least he stopped Broly from destroying the entire planet for the moment." Gohan's eyes burned with fighting spirit, and there was even a hint of anticipation in them.

He had thought Beast Form was already his limit. He had never expected to meet not one, but two Saiyan monsters here whose level far surpassed his own.

"Broly, be careful with that guy!" Paragus was extremely tense.

He had thought that after his son fully absorbed the Destruction energy that had tormented him for years, Broly had already reached the very peak of all Saiyans.

Yet the one who had suddenly appeared before them was another Saiyan whose strength was no less than Broly's.

Paragus's warning was useless. Broly had already rushed forward first.

Bang!

Their fists collided in midair, and the resulting shockwave spread in every direction.

Within hundreds of kilometers, the landscape was instantly rewritten, with countless mountains flattened into the earth.

"Hahaha! Yes! That's more like it!" the mysterious Saiyan roared with laughter. "This is how battle should be!"

He drove a knee toward Broly's abdomen. Broly twisted aside and retaliated with an elbow aimed at his head.

The man ducked under it and swept his leg at Broly's lower body.

The two of them instantly entered a white-hot battle. Every clash shook space and tore the ground apart.

"Fight with everything you have. Otherwise, I'll wipe this entire planet out!" Dark purple Destruction energy gathered around Broly's fists.

Boom!

The mysterious warrior was blasted back thousands of meters, smashing through countless mountain peaks.

"Cough..." He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, but the battle-lust in his eyes only intensified. "It seems the Saiyans of this era have surpassed those of our time. In that case..."

He condensed a sphere of light in his palm and hurled it into the sky.

The sphere exploded, and his body began to swell at a terrifying rate.

Dense fur spread wildly. Fangs jutted from his mouth. His height shot up to dozens of meters in an instant.

A Golden Great Ape!

"ROAR!"

The giant ape slammed a fist toward Broly, the shockwave from it tearing space apart.

Broly did not dodge. He answered with a fist of his own.

Boom!

Compared to Broly, the Golden Great Ape's fist was enormous, but in terms of raw power, Broly actually had the upper hand!

The giant body was knocked back, gouging deep trenches into the earth.

"So even in Golden Great Ape, with my power multiplied dozens of times, I still can't beat him..."

"That transformation is outdated. Let me show you the power of Destruction!"

Broly sneered, flashed forward, and appeared before the giant ape's chest. Then he drove out a punch.

Bang!

The Golden Great Ape's massive body flew like a cannonball, shattering mountain after mountain in its path.

"Do you have any other tricks? If this is all you can do, then it's time to say goodbye."

Through the smoke and dust, the Golden Great Ape slowly rose to its feet.

"It seems... it is time to show my true power."

Golden light erupted from the ape's body. Its enormous form rapidly shrank back down to normal size.

But his formerly pitch-black hair, which reached past his knees, was now dyed gold, while his eyebrows vanished and his brow ridge jutted forward.

Super Saiyan 3!

"And now?" His voice boomed like thunder across the heavens, his aura soaring once again.

A massive energy sphere condensed above his head, carrying enough destructive force to blast the entire planet to dust.

Broly began gathering power as well, dark purple Destruction energy compressing layer after layer in his palm.

The two world-destroying attacks were just about to collide

...

At the same time, in an experimental field far from that battlefield:

"An extremely terrifying energy fluctuation just came from that direction." Piccolo frowned.

"It's Moro." Levos's expression was grave. "And there's another fighter battling him who's no weaker than he is!"

Levos and his group had just reunited with Piccolo and Videl in this experimental field.

That aura battling Moro was unfamiliar. No one knew where such a powerhouse had come from.

Almost at the same time, another terrifying fluctuation erupted from a different direction.

"Cooler has entered battle too."

Everyone wore confused expressions. None of them could imagine who in Universe 7 could hold back an opponent on the level of Black Gold Cooler.

"Still, it's a good thing that someone's keeping them occupied."

"Right. Big Brother Gohan... they're in danger." Videl looked deeply worried.

Just then, Piccolo's brow furrowed as he sensed a hidden presence nearby.

"Who's there? Show yourself!"

A transparent figure shifted from illusion to reality and quietly appeared beside them.

"There is no need for concern, everyone. So long as you do not continue destroying the experimental fields, I will not act against you."

Everyone turned sharply in alarm and saw a girl floating in midair with a graceful figure.

Her skin was pale blue and translucent like glass. Her long green hair was tied into twin tails that fell like waterfalls.

"Who are you?" Android 18 demanded coldly.

"My name is Lagss. I am a survivor of the Glass Tribe." The girl introduced herself. "Lord Fu sent me here to stop you from destroying the experimental fields."

"So you've been secretly watching us this whole time?" Bulma raised a brow.

"Please do not misunderstand. I bear no ill will." Lagss explained calmly. "Lord Fu sent me to ensure that the experiment could restart smoothly."

She paused, then continued, "At present, Cooler and Moro are hunting the fighters in other zones. Hearts, Kamin, and Oren have already gone to stop them. As for Broly, Cumber has been sent to contain him."

"Cumber?" Levos narrowed his eyes.

"An Evil Saiyan from ancient times. A legendary warrior who fought Yamoshi, the first Super Saiyan God, fifty thousand years ago." Lagss explained in detail. "At present, he possesses power on the level of a God of Destruction. Lord Fu spent a great deal of effort persuading him to join our plan."

"So Cumber's the one keeping Broly occupied?" Levos rubbed his chin.

Lagss nodded. "Lord Fu's biggest concern is someone destroying the whole planet. If that happens, the experiment fails completely. Compared to that, he does not mind any form of battle, so long as it remains within controllable limits."

Levos thought for a moment. "Even so, Broly absorbed Beerus's Destruction energy. In terms of raw level, he may not be inferior to Cumber. Even if Cumber can stop him, can the scale of their battle really be controlled?"

"This..." Lagss hesitated. "Based on the strength assessment, Cumber should be able to contend with Broly. But if Broly has mastered a deeper level of Destruction power..."

"And that's exactly the problem. To be safe, we should go take a look. While we're at it, we need to stop Broly and rescue Gohan and Ginyu."

In truth, Levos wanted an excuse to stop by and gather the rest of Earth's fighters along the way, and "stopping Broly" was the perfect reason.

Lagss fell silent, seemingly seeking instructions.

But after a long moment, she received no response.

"Fu may be dealing with something even more important. Time's running out. Stopping Broly takes priority." With that, Levos immediately led everyone toward the next experimental field.

Helpless, Lagss could only follow at a distance, in case they began recklessly destroying things again.

She noticed that Levos's group was not moving in a straight line. Every so often, they would veer slightly off course in a very specific direction.

And each time they veered off, they just happened to run into one of their own companions.

Before long, Levos and his group had broken through several barriers in succession, regrouping with Bardock, Gine, Bardock, and "Monaka."

Lagss walked up to Levos, confused. "Why is it that every time you break into an experimental field, you just happen to run into your own companions?"

That question made Levos pause. Apparently they had made it a little too obvious.

"Master Levos has always had luck this good!" Puar blinked, utterly convinced.

"Too good to be luck, don't you think?" Lagss looked skeptical.

Indeed, the chance of running into Earth's fighters on every single attempt was one hundred percent.

Piccolo coughed once. "It could also be that Fu deliberately arranged it that way. Since they're all fighters from Earth, maybe he just grouped them into neighboring experimental fields to save trouble."

"Deliberately arranged?" Lagss muttered, though her suspicion only grew.

These people seemed far too familiar with the planet's terrain. But this was the Supreme Kai Planet, a place once reserved only for gods.

"Have you been to this planet before?"

Android 18 answered calmly, "Who would go out of their way to visit a disgusting place like this?"

"Forget survival, even if it were a free sightseeing trip, nobody would want to come." Yamcha shouted.

That much was true. The Supreme Kai Planet, corrupted and fused with Fused Zamasu, was eerie to its core.

When Lagss had first stepped onto it herself, she had felt that very clearly.

"Whatever. That part isn't important." Lagss shook her head. "I'll ask about the situation on Hearts's side."

By some unknown method, she gave them a brief report of the situation here.

A reply soon came back.

"You may temporarily cooperate with them, but make sure the overall situation is not affected."

"Hearts agreed. But you must move quickly. Cumber really is no match for Broly."

"Then let's hurry." Levos nodded.

The group set out again, heading toward the battlefield where Broly was fighting.

On the way, they passed through two more experimental fields, and unsurprisingly, they once again "happened" to reunite with Goku, Raditress, as well as Trunks and Bejitena.

By this point, Lagss was completely speechless.

There was no way this was coincidence. This was clearly deliberate precision tracking!

But she could no longer stop such a large group by herself.

Besides, they were already very close to Broly.

Just then, the barrier in the distance was dyed an eerie mix of purple and red, while violent ripples ran across its surface.

"That's the experimental field where Broly and Cumber are!" Lagss's expression changed. "At this level of attack, the barrier won't hold for much longer!"

No sooner had she spoken than cracks like a spiderweb began spreading across the barrier.

Yet the next instant, it was restored.

Fu appeared, looking utterly exhausted, pouring tremendous mental energy into this battlefield as he continuously reinforced the barrier.

"Two complete lunatics. When they fight, they don't care whether the planet lives or dies..."

...

Inside the barrier:

Two world-destroying energies collided continuously, creating expanding black-hole vortices, with strands of ominous power leaking from within.

Cumber's body was beginning to lose stability under the intensity of the clash.

"Damn it! Even Super Saiyan 3 isn't enough..."

Then his golden hair turned black again, and red fur spread over his body as his aura suddenly became immeasurably deep.

Super Saiyan 4!

"This is my true power!"

Cumber launched a full-force punch at Broly.

Yet Broly only smiled coldly.

"So what if you turned Super Saiyan 4? I mastered that transformation a thousand years ago!"

He stretched out one hand, caught Cumber's fist, and twisted hard.

Crack!

Cumber's wrist snapped, and he let out a cry of pain.

Then Broly's next attack followed instantly, blasting him away.

"Before Destruction energy, everything is futile!"

"Pfft "

Cumber coughed up blood and dropped to one knee.

Even the Evil Saiyan in Super Saiyan 4 was no match for Broly!

The battle between the masked warrior and Broly had gone far beyond what Gohan and Ginyu could understand.

Looking at the victorious Broly, Ginyu's eyes suddenly blazed as an idea appeared in his mind.

"Captain, I may have a way to turn this around!"

"What way?"

"Body Change!" A sharp light flashed in Ginyu's eyes. "I know it would be a disgrace to the body Lord Levos got for me, but this is the only chance we have to overturn the situation!"

Gohan's eyes lit up. It really was a possible way out.

As he understood it, with the level of power Broly had shown, even Cell Max might not be able to beat him for sure.

Although letting Ginyu switch bodies with Broly would leave all kinds of uncontrollable risks, if it actually worked, it would weaken both sides at once.

At the very least, it would change the hopeless situation they were in.

"But how are you going to hit him?" Gohan frowned. "Broly's reaction speed is too fast, and your technique has to be used at close range..."

"We need to create an opening." Ginyu said in a low voice. "Captain, help me distract him!"

The two exchanged words in hushed voices, and very quickly, a plan took shape.
