Double Trouble, Triple Heat

Chapter 6

Chapter 6

The lodge feels different at night.

Warmer. More intimate. The fire crackles in the hearth, casting dancing shadows across the walls, and I stand in the middle of the living room still feeling Joseph 's grip on my wrist like a bruise.

"Sera." Dominic's voice is gentle. "You're shaking."

I am. The adrenaline is fading, leaving something raw and vulnerable in its place.

Caspian presses a glass of whiskey into my hands. "Drink. It'll help."

I take a sip. The burn steadies me, but it doesn't erase the fear still coiled in my chest. "He found me. I thought I was safe here."

"You are safe." Dominic moves closer, his hand finding my hip. "He's gone. He won't come back."

"How do you know?"

"Because if he does, I'll kill him." He says it so simply that I almost believe him.

Caspian appears at my other side, his chest warm against my back. "We've got you, little star. Nothing's going to hurt you while we're here."

Something in me breaks open. The fear, the loneliness, the desperate need to feel something other than scared—it crashes together into a wave I can't control.

"I don't want to think anymore." I turn in their arms. "I don't want to be afraid. I just want to feel safe. I want to feel wanted."

"You are wanted." Dominic's amber eyes are dark with something that makes my blood heat. "More than you know."

"Then show me."

He hesitates. "After everything tonight—I don't want you to regret this."

"I won't."

"Last time we stopped because you'd been drinking." Caspian's voice is strained. "This time you're scared. Vulnerable. We don't want to take advantage."

I cup Dominic's face. "I'm not drunk. I'm not confused. I've been thinking about that night since it happened. About your hands on me. Your mouths." I turn to Caspian. "I'm choosing this. Sober. Certain."

"You're sure?" Dominic's voice is rough.

"I'm sure. Don't stop this time." I pull him down to me. "Don't ever stop."

The kiss ignites everything.

Dominic's mouth claims mine with a hunger that steals my breath. His hands grip my hips, pulling me flush against him, and I feel exactly how much he wants this. Wants me.

Caspian's fingers find my zipper. "I've been dreaming about this," he murmurs against my neck. "About getting you out of your clothes. About tasting every inch of you."

The zipper slides down. Cool air hits my back, then warm hands, stroking down my spine.

"Bedroom," Dominic growls against my lips. "Now. Let us do what we want to."

They guide me down the hall, and clothes fall away like they're nothing. My dress pools on the floor. Dominic's shirt tears in his haste to remove it. By the time we reach the bed, I'm in nothing but my underwear, and they're stripped down to boxers, and the sight of them makes my mouth go dry.

All that golden skin. All those muscles. Dominic's scars mapping stories across his chest. Caspian's tattoos winding down his arms like dark rivers.

"God, you're beautiful," I breathe.

"Look who's talking." Caspian's eyes travel down my body, hungry and reverent. "Do you have any idea how long I've wanted to see you like this?"

He lays me back on the bed, and they descend on me together.

Dominic captures my mouth while Caspian trails kisses down my throat. Four hands explore my body—unhooking my bra, sliding my underwear down my legs, stroking and teasing until I'm writhing against the sheets.

"So responsive," Dominic murmurs against my breast before taking my nipple into his mouth.

Caspian's tongue traces down my stomach, lower and lower, and when he finally reaches where I need him most, I cry out, back arching off the bed.

"That's it, little star." His breath is hot against my center. "Let me hear you."

He works me with devastating precision—lips, tongue, fingers—while Dominic's mouth moves between my breasts, and the dual sensation is almost too much to bear. The pleasure builds fast, coiling tighter and tighter.

"I'm going to—" I gasp.

"Come for us." Dominic's voice is commanding and pleading all at once. "We want to feel it."

I shatter. The orgasm crashes through me in waves, and I'm still trembling when they start building me up again, learning what makes me moan, what makes me beg.

"Please," I whimper when I can't take it anymore. "Please, I need you inside me."

Dominic positions himself between my thighs, and I feel him there—hard, thick, ready. "Look at me, Sera."

I do. His amber eyes hold mine as he pushes inside—slow, careful, giving me time to adjust. There's pressure, stretching, a flash of pain that fades into something else entirely.

"God." His jaw clenches, muscles straining with the effort of holding back. "You're so tight. So perfect."

"Move," I beg. "Please move."

He does. Slow at first, then faster as my body opens for him. Each thrust sends sparks shooting through my nerve endings, building toward something massive.

Caspian's mouth finds mine, swallowing my moans. "You taste so good," he murmurs against my lips. "And you’re taking him so beautifully."

They switch without warning—Dominic pulling out, Caspian taking his place in one fluid motion. The different angle, different rhythm makes me gasp.

"Fuck, little star." Caspian's forehead drops to mine, his silver eyes burning into me. "You feel incredible. Like you were made for us."

"Maybe I was," I hear myself say.

Dominic's hand tangles in my hair, tilting my head back for a deep kiss while Caspian drives into me again and again. They take turns—Dominic intense and claiming, Caspian tender and teasing—until I can't tell where one ends and the other begins.

"I'm close," I cry. "I'm so close—"

"Together." Dominic's voice is rough. "Come with us."

When we finally crest—all three of us, bodies intertwined—something breaks open in my chest. A warmth spreads through me, golden and bright, and I feel their heartbeats pulsing alongside mine. Something ancient clicking into place. A bond forming that I don't fully understand.

Afterward, we lie tangled together, breathing slowly. I'm sandwiched between them—Dominic at my back, Caspian facing me—and I've never felt so safe.

"That was..." I can't find the words.

"Perfect." Caspian presses a kiss to my forehead. "You're perfect."

Dominic's arm tightens around my waist, his lips brushing my shoulder.

Then they both go rigid.

"What—" I start.

"Quiet." Dominic's voice is sharp. His head lifts, tilting toward the window, nostrils flaring.

Caspian's doing the same thing. Both of them frozen, alert, listening to something I can't hear.

"Someone's outside," Caspian whispers. "Multiple someones."

"How do you—"

Dominic's already moving, rolling off the bed, and what happens next stops my heart.

His body contorts. Bones crack and reshape with sounds that make my stomach lurch. His skin ripples, splits, dark fur erupting through the tears. His face elongates into a muzzle. His hands twist into paws.

In seconds, a massive black wolf stands where the man used to be.

Golden eyes. Dominic's eyes. Fixed on me with an intelligence that's entirely human.

Beside the bed, Caspian transforms too—silver-grey fur replacing pale skin, sharp teeth gleaming.

Two wolves. The wolves from the treeline. From my father's stories.

Wolves that wear human faces.

I scream.

The sound tears from my throat, raw and primal, and I'm scrambling off the bed before my brain catches up to my body. Naked, terrified, I grab the first thing I find—Dominic's shirt—and run.

Down the hall. Through the living room. Out the front door into the cold night air.

I don't look back. Can't look back. I just run, barefoot, wearing nothing but a man's shirt, crashing through the dark forest with branches tearing at my skin.

Everything Miriam said was true. The wolves. The pack. My mother.

And I just slept with two of them.

Tears blur my vision. My lungs burn. I don't know where I'm going—just away, away, away from the monsters wearing human faces.

From the men I was starting to fall for.

From everything I thought I knew.

Behind me, wolves howl into the night. Mournful. Calling.

I don't stop running.
