Capítulo 1532: Chapter 1470: Human or Ghost

As Wufu had anticipated earlier, although this dead soldier was willing to confess, he didn’t reveal much obvious information.

According to the dead soldier, during their usual training, they were always in a hidden valley and had to be blindfolded when led out, so they had no idea where it was located.

The person who trained them was unknown, as he always wore a ghost mask. They referred to him as the Young Master, but they didn’t know who they served; they only knew training until the mission was assigned.

Additionally, the mark on their arms was a symbol of a Hexagram. When Wufu watched him draw the symbol, he squinted and thought rather than calling it a Hexagram, it might as well be called a hexagram, representing death.

“Messing with mysterious symbols, how annoying!” Wufu snorted coldly, thinking that only a cult would use such symbols.

He then asked how the assassination was arranged and how they coordinated with the other two assassins.

The dead soldier said there was no coordination; they acted independently because the others were too arrogant to cooperate.

Wufu asked a few more questions, such as how they knew their target’s itinerary. The dead soldier also claimed ignorance, saying they went wherever they were told.

“That’s all I know. Can I sleep now?” the dead soldier pleaded.

Wufu snorted lightly, stood up, and waved his hand.

The sword was unsheathed, blood splattered, and a bloodstain appeared on the dead soldier’s neck, with blood streaming down from it.

The dead soldier felt a chill on his neck, and his final thought was that dying would be better; he’d rather not encounter this witch again in his next life!

“Miss, aren’t you worried this information might be false?” Chi Wu asked.

Wufu replied, “No, under such punishment, he wouldn’t lie, and he would probably rather die than endure this again. After all, being deprived of sleep for so long is utterly exhausting.”

Chi Wu understood; he had guarded this dead soldier before. Obviously, the soldier was at the limit of exhaustion, yet was forced to keep his eyes open and stay awake. Others would’ve given in long ago.

“Give this information to Mei Er and Chi Yi, and see if any organization or family uses such symbols as codes!” Wufu instructed.

“Yes,” Chi Wu replied.

Wufu handed the information to his colleagues to investigate, then returned to Ah Jiu’s room to relay the acquired information.

Ah Jiu frowned, thought for a moment, and said, “I’ve never seen such a symbol before.”

Wufu felt somewhat disappointed but smiled, “It’s fine, we won’t figure it out immediately. Keep an eye out for it. Whether human or ghost, it will surface someday. For now, focus on recovering from your injuries.”

“Hmm, you should take care too; you’ve been injured as well, don’t overexert yourself!” Ah Jiu replied with a smile.

In Sun Moon Night, at a certain household in this space-time, a woman cloaked entirely in a black robe obscuring her figure stood in the middle of the room, glaring coldly at the man opposite her, “Failed?”

The man nodded.

“How could this happen? Didn’t you dispatch top-ranked assassins?” the woman’s voice was sharp.

“The opponent’s strength is far more formidable than you or I can imagine; I thought you’d know that!” the man said solemnly, “If you’re not satisfied, you can find someone else.”

The woman choked, softened, removed her hood, walked over and embraced him, “I’m just angry, Brother Xing, you know how much I’ve suffered because of them. I’ve lost my… I’ve endured so much pain, I want them to suffer too!”

The man looked indifferently at the person in his arms, knowing that only in times of need would she lean on him.
