Chapter 612 - 606: Beginning the Scheme 3
If it were an ordinary patient, they’d just thank the doctor for the medication, rest for a few days, and be fine.
But she’s a doctor, and the body’s response to her is far too abnormal.
She had opened and sniffed the morning’s medication, indeed there were some additives that had side effects, which over time could cause blockages leading to pseudo heart attack deaths.
However, this time the medication infused into her body felt entirely different.
If Chloe and Meredith Ford were truly intent on her demise, they wouldn’t stop at that, nor would they suddenly develop a conscience and give her genuine medicine.
This only suggests one thing: this time the medication is far more dangerous.
She glanced at Rouge Jarvis, who was quietly reading.
If she wants to become completely disappointed with Meredith Ford, who raised her for twenty years, and is determined to uncover the truth from twenty years ago, then she must survive this ordeal.
But she couldn’t possibly joke around with her life.
She lightly pursed her lips, calling out, "Ms. Jarvis."
Rouge Jarvis put down the book in her hands, frowning slightly, "What’s wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell?"
She shook her head before saying, "Could you help me ask Julian Eames to come over?"
Rouge Jarvis was aware of why she was injured like this and didn’t refuse, "Sure."
After she left, she placed the infusion bottle from earlier on the bedside table, sitting there quietly waiting.
Three minutes later.
Miles Xavier arrived.
Tiana Thorne didn’t see her mother, so she asked more, "Where’s Ms. Jarvis?"
Miles Xavier’s voice was indifferent, standing beside her bed, "She went to see Julian Eames on your behalf."
She had been thinking of finding an excuse to make her mother leave temporarily but didn’t expect her to leave on her own.
She felt at ease.
Then she picked up the bottle from the bedside table and handed it to him, going straight to the point, "There’s a problem with the medication."
Miles Xavier was slightly surprised, and he took it, "What’s the problem?"
Tiana Thorne had thought she would need to spend time convincing him, but didn’t expect him to be so dedicated to his work and not automatically assume there was no issue with his prescription. She gently pressed her lips together before saying, "The ingredients have been altered. My body can sense it."
Miles Xavier turned and was about to leave, "I’ll take it for testing."
"Dr. Garrison, please wait."
He turned back to look at her, "Is there anything else, Ms. Thorne?"
"I don’t believe there’s an issue with your prescription. I suspect someone is tampering with it."
Miles Xavier, being very straightforward, lightly furrowed his brows, his voice growing colder, "Are you saying Chloe Vance?"
Tiana Thorne did not deny it, shrugged, "As it stands, she’s the only one who has direct access to this bottle. If she wanted to tamper with it, it’s very simple."
He deepened his tone, "I will investigate thoroughly."
"I also hope you keep this confidential."
He knew the matter could be both significant and minor and naturally wouldn’t mention it to others to avoid further complications, "Once I figure out the components of this medication, I’ll prescribe accordingly, and have your mother personally come to my office to collect it."
She didn’t expect Miles Xavier to cooperate so well and breathed a sigh of relief, showing a somewhat gentle smile, "Thank you, Dr. Garrison."
"Just doing my job."
After leaving those words, he walked out.
Soon after, Rouge Jarvis returned, carrying some pre-sliced watermelon.
Tiana Thorne’s gaze lingered on the watermelon, "Ms. Jarvis, didn’t Dr. Garrison say you went to see Julian Eames?"
