Chapter 609 - 603: A Comedy of Errors (Part 3)
Jesse Rivers withdrew his thoughts and continued, "There are three men who might have been in a relationship with Ms. Thorne, all named Aaron, who are around her age."
He narrowed his eyes slightly, his expression somewhat cold, indicating for him to continue speaking.
"The first one, Aaron Caldwell, was her senior in college, but there is no evidence of any entanglement with Ms. Thorne."
"The second one, Aaron Jennings, twenty-eight years old, is a renowned painter in Azurea, comes from a good family, and is very low-key."
"The third one, Aaron Kane, twenty-five years old, is from a noble family in the capital, known for his arrogant and flamboyant behavior, a notorious playboy."
Aiden Shaw’s eyes grew colder, his long brows arched lightly, "Do you think a playboy can keep her awake at night?"
Jesse: "..."
Uh...
For a girl with Ms. Thorne’s personality, let alone a playboy, she clearly wouldn’t be troubled by love.
"If it’s admiration and he’s a senior, why is there no entanglement?"
Jesse didn’t dare refute, understanding that, in Mr. Shaw’s view, with Ms. Thorne’s bold nature, if she truly liked someone, she wouldn’t let them go, even if he was close by, so the senior can be ruled out.
"Get me all the information on the painter."
Jesse quickly nodded and said, "Yes."
Afterwards, Aiden Shaw opened the car door and got out.
Jesse watched his tall, straight back, wondering why, despite having succeeded in winning over the beauty, he still exuded an aura of gloom and coldness.
It’s all because of Aaron.
Hospital room.
When Tiana Thorne woke up, only the bathroom light was on, making her surroundings not completely dark and preventing any lack of security.
She looked around but saw no one, not even May Sloane.
Just as she sat up and turned on the room light, the door was pushed open from the outside.
She looked up and saw Aiden Shaw’s handsome face, his features only more pronounced in the night. Yet, there was an inscrutable emotion in his brows for a moment, like he was covered in frost, making the room feel a bit chilly as he entered.
As soon as he noticed she was awake, the frost slowly melted away.
She was the first to call him, "Brother Four."
Aiden Shaw turned on the room light and walked towards her, "I made bird’s nest soup for you."
Tiana Thorne rubbed her sleepy eyes, then showed a lazy smile, gently teasing, "Thank you~"
He opened the thermos, took out a spoon, and sat beside her, "I’ll feed you."
"Sure."
If she didn’t have to do it herself, she certainly wouldn’t.~
It’s so nice to just open her mouth and solve it.
Aiden Shaw scooped up some bird’s nest soup, tested the temperature on his lips, and only after confirming it wasn’t too hot did he bring it to her mouth.
After eating it, Tiana Thorne let out a long breath, her eyes sparkling. She raised her eyebrows and smiled, saying, "Brother Four, just now, we had an indirect kiss."
Aiden Shaw looked at her, his voice a bit lower, "Don’t mess around."
Okay, okay, no more messing around.
He then fed her a small bowl of bird’s nest soup.
Tiana Thorne patted her belly, her smile enchanting, her voice sweet, "Ah, I’m full, Brother Four."
He said nothing, moved closer to her, bent down, placed a hand on the back of her neck, rubbed it twice, and then kissed her lips.
Tiana Thorne: "..."
What’s with this sudden kiss?
Maybe she was born to enjoy kissing him, never resisting, nor shy.
After a deep kiss, their lips parted, and their eyes met.
His eyes seemed to hold stars, reflecting the room’s light, sparkling brilliantly. Apart from that, they also carried a hint of restrained emotion, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down a few times.
"Do you like it?"
Tiana Thorne felt a brief tension in her body, nodded, "I prefer direct kisses over indirect ones."
After speaking, she tilted her head back and pressed her lips against his.
She released him, looking at him with dreamy eyes, feeling quite dissatisfied!
Damn it.
When would her body recover?
She wanted to go on a honeymoon with Brother Four, so sweet.
Tiana Thorne: "Come up here."
He didn’t refuse. After getting on the bed, like before, he let her lean against him, holding her small frame, resting his chin on her hair. Because of the two kisses, his voice was somewhat hoarse, seductively melodious, "Sixteen."
"Hmm?"
She really liked it when he called her that, not entirely passionate, yet extraordinarily unique, a little itch she couldn’t quite scratch.
He looked ahead, his phoenix eyes slightly narrowed, with a hint of the starlight spreading quietly. It held a few glimmers of brilliance, his voice low, "Is there something very important that you’re not telling me?"
"No."
She answered almost without hesitation.
"Really not?"
Hearing him ask again, she finally pondered. Since being with him, it seems there’s really nothing she’s hiding from him.
This time, she was unusually serious, "No, Brother Four, you’re so good to me, I wouldn’t lie to you."
"Mm."
She squinted slightly, looking a bit puzzled.
Suddenly, she felt his question was a bit odd, yet couldn’t pinpoint what exactly was strange.
Thinking that he needed rest, she naturally stretched in his arms, her voice coy and charming, "I’m sleepy."
"Sleep."
After that, Tiana Thorne lay down, resting in his arms, breathing in his unique scent, faintly mixed with a hint of herbal aroma.
Brother Four gave himself medicinal baths every day.
Nice!
"Goodnight."
He suddenly said.
She replied, "Goodnight."
Aiden Shaw, feeling exhausted, had a throbbing at his temples. He hadn’t slept well the previous night but now felt drowsy.
Perhaps because she was by his side, he felt an inexplicable peace of mind.
...
Tiana Thorne woke up early, and the person beside her was already gone.
She soon saw Rouge Jarvis busying herself with breakfast.
Seeing her awake, she asked, "Did you rest well last night?"
Not really.
She felt weak, as if she had been hit by a muscle relaxant, dreaming repeatedly through the night, being chased by all sorts of monsters, exhausting her.
Her head still felt heavy and pained.
But she couldn’t let her mother worry, so she showed a sweet, obedient smile, "Yes, I slept well."
"Then wash up and eat breakfast."
She nodded, "Thank you, Ms. Jarvis."
Rouge Jarvis said nothing, handed her disposable toiletries, and she washed up before eating breakfast.
She found that Ms. Jarvis had thoughtfully prepared some post-meal fruit for her, six grapes plus a small slice of watermelon.
Watermelon!
She picked up the watermelon, took a bite, and this sweet fruit was indeed a long-awaited delight.
"Your health condition only allows for one piece."
Tiana Thorne smirked, a rogue tilt to her lips, "Ms. Jarvis still remembers I wanted watermelon."
Rouge Jarvis looked at her with disdain. At this moment, Chloe Vance knocked on the door.
"Come in."
Tiana Thorne noticed the medication she brought.
