Chapter 59: Beyond Words
Chapter 59: Beyond Words
Aiden Shaw’s private villa.
Jesse Rivers drove to pick him up, only feeling that he seemed even more cold today.
He carefully followed behind, only getting into the driver’s seat after Aiden had boarded.
"Did you find out?"
As Jesse started the engine, he heard a low voice from the back.
Jesse felt very uneasy, forcing himself to shake his head: "Mr. Ford did a very good job of keeping things confidential. Unless he tells you himself, there’s no way to find out."
Aiden played with the lighter in his hand, his gaze deep, saying nothing more.
Jesse pondered and then spoke up: "Fourth Master, this Miss Thorne and Mr. Ford, perhaps it’s not that simple. When Mr. Ford asked me to take her, he was quite anxious about her."
"If I remember correctly, they’ve known each other for less than three days."
Jesse: "...You’ve known Miss Thorne for just over a week."
After speaking, he distinctly felt a piercing cold stare from behind.
It was then he realized he misspoke. But, if Miss Thorne really is the woman Mr. Ford fancies, Fourth Master would truly need to keep his distance.
After thinking it over, he spoke again: "Fourth Master, I feel that Miss Thorne’s feelings for Mr. Ford are quite unique, not something... she’s pretending."
Jesse’s words were quite clear, Tiana Thorne, whether in front of him or in front of Fourth Master Shaw, regardless of which side of her you see, it’s all an act.
This was fundamentally different from how she interacted with Maxim Ford.
Jesse heard no reply, continuing: "Also, last night, when Miss Thorne heard it was Mr. Ford coming to get her, she was quite delighted, but when she saw your car..."
The implication behind this could only be understood, not spoken.
Aiden’s dark brown pupils contracted slightly, then said: "You seem quite idle?"
"No, no, no, my painting work is still halfway done, I’m busy, really busy, I..."
"Go to the new site and do a day’s brick moving, empathize with the laborers." Aiden’s voice was chillingly indifferent.
Jesse: "Fourth Master... I, I just..."
Aiden casually highlighted a few words: "Brake, get out."
Jesse: "..."
Get out?
The well-mannered, sophisticated Fourth Master Shaw actually told him to get out?
Could it be because of Tiana Thorne’s anger?
No way!
Is the battle for the beauty between brothers about to erupt?
With these thoughts, the car had already stopped by the roadside.
Jesse didn’t dare plead further on his behalf, otherwise, he’d face severe consequences, and his painting wasn’t even done yet.
"Fourth Master, take care."
Aiden’s expression was icy, his cold face devoid of any emotion, only those dark brown eyes were piercingly bright.
...
It was only after Tiana Thorne woke that she learned someone had taken advantage of the situation to expose such news about Ennis Lee and his wife.
Ennis Lee and Jodie Tanner were truly finished this time.
Cody Pace was furious, almost upending the office desk.
Ennis Lee was fired, Jodie’s announcements were all canceled, the company issued a statement disallowing hired vote bribes.
This time, Jodie Tanner was completely down and out.
She dressed beautifully, trying to learn from Tiana Thorne and plead with Cody Pace, but, unfortunately, she was kicked out as soon as she went in.
She couldn’t replicate the makeup of Cody Pace’s first love.
And Cody Pace’s first love wouldn’t become a mistress for career sake.
Crying, Jodie Tanner left the office, just in time to bump into Tiana Thorne, who had been called for a conversation by Cody Pace.
