Chapter 572 - 566: An Accident Happened (Part 2)

It sounded like a metal spiral, or perhaps something breaking.

Tiana Thorne’s hearing was excellent, too. She instinctively looked towards the source of the sound, her heart silently crying out, trouble.

Julian Eames’s face turned pale as he instinctively jumped off the table, grabbing her hand: "What are you looking at? This classroom is going to collapse!"

With that, he quickly ran outside.

Tiana’s breathing suddenly became somewhat suffocated. At that moment, countless fragments flashed through her mind, yet she couldn’t grasp a single one. But inside, a fear rose, one she hadn’t felt since being reborn.

"Julian Eames..."

He shouted, "Shut up! Run!"

But it was already too late; about three meters from the doorway, the whole classroom collapsed.

A loud crash.

Julian acted without thinking, pushing her towards a triangular spot as the building fell, grabbing a table and raising it over his head.

Immediately, he lunged towards her, using the table to shield himself above, and using his body to protect her inside.

Tiana looked at him in shock: "Julian, you..."

Her words were surrounded by collapsing pillars.

All she could hear were crashing sounds, all she could smell was dust. In just a few seconds, her view plunged into darkness.

A few more seconds passed, feeling like an endless century.

Beyond fear, she felt profound shock.

She barely knew Julian Eames, not even considering him a friend. If there was any tie between them, it was because she had once tricked him. Naturally, there should have been hatred.

But in a life-or-death moment, he protected her.

This shock rendered her, who was always so carefree, at a loss for words.

She felt his entire weight pressing against her, drilling bits and house beams above...

Such force fell down; even being shielded inside, she felt pain all over, let alone him.

Suddenly, she panicked.

Was Julian Eames dead...?

She had waited years for one benefactor, now another appeared, how could she ever repay them?

She tried to call his name: "Julian Eames."

All around seemed to quiet down, in the pitch-black vision, she couldn’t see him, but could faintly hear a weak breath.

"Julian Eames."

His voice was weak, still carrying the usual cranky tone: "Damn it! Aren’t you a fortune teller?"

Tiana’s breath tightened; he was still alive.

"Why didn’t you predict this accident..."

He muttered another sentence, then silence.

Tiana wanted to call him, but the earlier impact had hurt the back of her head, the pain making her dizzy, unable to hear a single breath.

Now, she couldn’t be sure if he was still alive, her entire being locked in darkness.

Being merely human, it really was no good at all.

...

CEO’s office.

May Sloane conveyed Tiana’s intention, then handed the Jade Pendant to him: "Tiana said this is a protective jade, she’s carried it since childhood. She asked me to pass it to you, as a return gift."

Aiden Shaw took it, held it in his palm, his slender brows furrowed slightly, his voice cold and indifferent: "She wants to fulfill Finn Pierce’s dream, doesn’t she?"

She nodded, remembering Finn’s past, her gaze slightly moved: "Fourth Master, he’s already suffered a lot. If you truly wish to care for him on behalf of his mother, then grant him this, don’t let kind people feel lonely."

His phoenix eyes narrowed slightly, slender fingers tightened, the jade began to heat up in his palm, his low, cold voice somewhat unsympathetic: "He..."

Just then, Jesse Rivers stormed in, shouting anxiously: "Fourth Master..."
