Chapter 1269: Extra Story: Dressing to Miss You

Chapter 1269: Extra Story: Dressing to Miss You

On stage, July Quinn and Kyle Keaton stood as the priest announced, "The groom may kiss the bride."Kyle Keaton immediately lowered his head and kissed the lips of the person in front of him. Below the stage, Victor Hawthorne, Shelly Cole, and others cheered. Only Laura Quinn, as a mother, couldn’t hold back her tears, while almost everyone else praised them as a match made in heaven.

But in a certain corner, a man in a suit, whose aura and appearance were no less than Kyle Keaton’s, looked desolate.

Even though he held a high position and many people wanted to curry favor with him, no one dared to approach him at this moment.

Because the aura of sorrow he exuded naturally isolated him from those around him.

Even his attendants frowned, not daring to speak.

Just this morning, Roman Kidd asked him to take out the suit that had been custom-made long ago.

The attendant was puzzled at that time.

It should be known that along with that suit, there was also a wedding dress.

It was ordered back when July Quinn was saved by him and brought to Desrozin City.

Yes, for some people, they plan everything, even naming their future children with her.

For Roman Kidd, July Quinn was that kind of existence.

Although he had never formally confessed, Roman Kidd had long prepared the clothes they would wear for their wedding, including the location and decorations, all meticulously recorded in his computer.

But the wedding he dreamed of never took place.

When he received the invitation, he locked himself in his room for a day and a night, doing nothing, not even touching a drop of alcohol.

From dawn to dusk, then from dusk to dawn.

His mind was clearly awake but filled with despair.

When day broke, he had his attendant bring out the groom’s suit.

He did consider wearing that suit to the wedding to stage a dramatic showdown.

But witnessing July Quinn’s smile through tears and the love in her eyes for Kyle Keaton at the wedding, he dismissed the idea of interrupting.

And so it led to this scene—dressing to the nines, only to miss you.

Taking one last look at the couple radiating love in the center stage, Roman Kidd quietly placed the prepared wedding rings among the gifts and left with his people.

Soon, it was time for July Quinn to toss the bouquet.

Kyle Keaton’s many brothers, plus the eligible relatives of the Keaton Family, and the wealthy second-generation guests at the wedding all rushed forward, eager to be the first to catch the bouquet and marry next year.

"Are you ready?"

July Quinn prepared to throw the bouquet and looked back at the eager crowd.

"Ready! July, throw it this way." Shelly Cole joined the fray.

Victor Hawthorne disapprovingly pushed her aside: "You don’t even have a boyfriend, what are you doing here?"

"You don’t have a girlfriend either, why are you joining the fun?"

"None of your business, I just want to catch the bouquet, maybe find someone to marry next year!"

"What a coincidence, that’s my wish too. Don’t mind me."

Amid their banter, July Quinn tossed the bouquet.

Almost everyone surged forward; the bouquet danced above their heads, about to land on someone.

Unwilling to let others have it, someone jumped up and batted the bouquet away.

The bouquet flew through the air and landed on the main table with Richard Donovan.

Victor Hawthorne, ever the daredevil, shamelessly approached Richard Donovan: "Uncle Donovan, you see the bouquet’s no use to you, how about..." Give it to me.

Before he could finish, Richard Donovan interrupted him, "Who says I can’t use it!"

Then suddenly, he stood up and knelt on one knee in front of Laura Quinn, "Laura, I know I’ve done so many things wrong in the past, but I love you deeply. Even after all these years, I remember every moment we were together. Please give me a chance to make it up to you, to grow old slowly with you, travel through the sands of time with you, will you?"

The crowd was surprised to see a marriage proposal from Richard Donovan at July Quinn’s wedding and began to cheer.

"Marry him, marry him!"

The chants grew louder and louder.

Even July Quinn joined in the cheering.

"Mom, you should agree to marry him."

"You two kids are something else, cheering them on like this?"

Kyle Keaton added, "We just think it’s a pity if you two aren’t together."

Clearly, they still loved each other, yet so many misunderstandings prevented them from being together.

If they just grow old alone, it would leave them with lifelong regret.

"Laura, even the kids want us together. Have a heart and take pity on an old man like me with no one left for him."

Richard Donovan quickly played up his woes. Victor Hawthorne and others, enjoying the spectacle, pushed Richard closer to Laura Quinn until they were nearly side by side.

Laura Quinn, at her age, had never experienced such pressure to get married before.

Blushing, she eventually said, "Being together is fine, but you’ll have to dye your hair black, otherwise everyone’s going to think I married someone in his seventies."

Hearing this, everyone laughed.

Only Richard Donovan was so stirred that he embraced Laura Quinn. "Thank you, Laura, thank you! Thank you for accepting me again..."

"We’re old already, don’t get too close," Laura Quinn said awkwardly.

"What’s wrong with being old? If we don’t love well at this age, there won’t be much time left."

Ultimately, Laura Quinn rested happily on Richard Donovan’s shoulder.

Just like Richard Donovan said, if they don’t love well at their age, there’s not much time left.

July Quinn watched her parents snuggle together, moved to tears.

Kyle Keaton quickly embraced her, "Wife, it’s been so wonderful knowing you!"

"Me too, husband."

They exchanged smiles.

No matter what others think of their marriage, they will make their days better and let time prove everything.

(The End)
