Don't Fall For Me, CEO

Chapter 1254: A Difficult Choice

Chapter 1254: A Difficult Choice

"What?!" Susan Carter was bewildered. She had been behaving tamely like a lamb the past two days in the livestream room, so much so that even he started to doubt whether July Quinn had been replaced again. How could she suddenly become so fierce?

But July didn’t even glance at him, focusing instead on taking a red handgun from a drawer downstairs.

As she loaded each bullet, her eyes were ice-cold with no trace of warmth.

"Call up your brothers. No matter how much the commission is, I’ll pay it. Just don’t let anyone inside the new Marsden Castle go."

Without getting an answer, Susan ended up recruiting business for his brothers, still completely puzzled.

"Alright, if you want me to find them, I’ll call them right away."

There was a lingering sense that July’s state wasn’t right. Despite the calm and vicious manner she had while loading bullets resembling a downright wicked woman, Susan just felt that something was off about her today.

Even in the past, when July wielded guns and knives, she maintained an air of fearless composure, but never this cold, inhuman expression she wore today.

Especially her beautiful eyes, dark and hollow.

It seemed as if she had despaired of this world and intended to drag it down with her.

Susan was at a loss.

Yet he followed July’s instructions and called his brothers from the Alpha Mercenary Corps.

"We’ve got a job. Gather everyone around Desrozin City and rendezvous at Marsden Castle in half an hour. The commission won’t be less, just make sure to stay protected."

While Susan was greeting his brothers, Kyle Keaton took the opportunity to try to reason with July.

"July, I know you’re very worried since Joseph captured Mom, but there’s no need to go head-to-head with them. You’re pregnant right now; engaging in a confrontation is dangerous. Please, leave this to me. I’ll definitely bring Mom back to you safe and sound."

Earlier, Kyle had been busy instructing Thomas Grant to gather The Keaton Family’s Vanguard War Generals dispersed throughout Desrozin City, equipped and ready to set out for Marsden Castle.

He hadn’t finalized the arrangements when he heard that July intended to drag Susan along for a showdown.

Seeing July take out her personal handgun, Kyle quickly ended his call and rushed forward to stop her.

"I’ve spent so much time to finally be by my mother’s side. I haven’t even tasted the beef hotpot she cooks or let her see how obedient I can be, nor have I done anything to make her proud. I can’t risk losing her, not even a bit."

While speaking, July placed the gun in her coat pocket and stuffed some spare bullets inside.

Additionally, she took a hair elastic and tied her loose shoulder-length hair into a ponytail.

She did all this without even glancing at Kyle.

Observing her demeanor, Kyle realized her mind was made up.

He opened his mouth, wanting her to consider the child in her womb.

Yet these words failed to leave his lips.

He knew how much July longed for this maternal love; voicing such concerns now would appear selfish.

At this moment, July suddenly lifted her head to meet Kyle’s eyes.

Her eyes were red, but devoid of tears.

"I know you cherish this child deeply, but I’m sorry, honey. Even if the child is lost, we can have another in the future. But there’s only one mom..."

Faced with choosing between her two dearest loves, it’s a difficult choice, yet she had no choice but to make it.

Thus, she could only afford to neglect the unborn baby.

If in this action, the baby is unfortunately lost, she would spend her life atoning for it.

But if the child survives this ordeal, she will shower him with a lifetime of love!
