Chapter 446 - 424: I Don’t Wear Things That Others Have Worn
Dudu glared at him before stepping aside to let him in. As he walked towards the bathroom with his back to her, she couldn’t help but take a few extra glances at him. Unexpectedly, he suddenly turned around and asked, "Aren’t you afraid of living alone in such a big house?"Dudu’s gaze wavered guiltily. She changed the subject, saying, "Hurry up and wash up, don’t talk so much."
Shen Yiran nodded slightly, glanced around briefly, then headed to the bathroom. Dudu sat absentmindedly in the living room, and about ten minutes later, she heard his voice coming from the bathroom, "Su Yutong."
Dudu paused. He rarely called her by her name; the number of times he did so since childhood could be counted on one hand.
Her heart pounded, but she pretended to be impatient as she replied, "What?"
"Pass me a towel. Mine got wet."
Dudu lifted the thin blanket, walked down from the sofa, and went to her bedroom to search. When she had gotten married to Qiao Luchen, they had matching bathrobes; his had never been used. So she handed it to Shen Yiran.
She knocked on the bathroom door, and he boldly opened it, revealing half of his body. Without thinking, Dudu’s gaze dropped, luckily the door covered most of him, and she only saw his V-line. Flustered, she shoved the clothes into his hands and turned to leave. He seemed entirely unbothered, looked at the bathrobe, and asked, "Who wore this?"
Dudu paused in her steps and answered impatiently, "Wear it if you want."
In the next second, she caught a glimpse of something white flying towards her, landing on her face. His voice echoed beside her ears, "I don’t wear things worn by others."
Regretting instantly, Dudu lifted the clothes and saw that he had come out without wearing anything. She hastily used the bathrobe to cover her view, anxiously saying, "This is new!"
Shen Yiran walked over, examined the garment in her hand, and then took it from her. Right in front of her, he put it on while she turned away with flushed cheeks, back facing him, and said, "Wash up and leave quickly."
Shen Yiran didn’t respond. After a while, there was no sound, and when Dudu turned her head, she realized he was already gone.
Outdoors, as she breathed a sigh of relief, a sense of emptiness filled her heart.
...
Over the weekend, the first snow of the season arrived, and a few women arranged to go to Ice and Snow City together.
On the way, An’an casually asked, "Dudu, has Su Bao contacted you in the past few days?"
Dudu was surprised and didn’t understand her meaning. She asked, "...What about it?"
Xiaoxiao added, "Second Brother hasn’t been home lately. We don’t know where he’s living. Hasn’t he contacted you?"
Dudu lied and shook her head, but the next moment, her phone rang as she was about to take a photo, displaying "Su Bao" on the screen. An’an immediately scrutinized her, "Dudu, you’re lying to us, aren’t you?"
"Answer it, and we’ll deal with you afterward."
Dudu smiled awkwardly, cursed Shen Yiran in her heart, turned away, and answered the phone, "What’s up?"
"Where are you?"
"None of your business."
"Didn’t you always want to go to Ice and Snow City? I’m free today, I’ll go with you."
Dudu was stunned. He remembered everything she said. Back then, no matter how much she begged him, he wouldn’t go out with her, whether it was to concerts or movies, or even to take a short walk nearby. He never had the patience.
