Chapter 444 - 422: Will You Tell Me If I Like It?
In the past, she always took his car. She never even got a driver’s license, plus his parents also weren’t comfortable with her driving alone.Shen Yiran saw the car keys in his hand, put them in his pants pocket, and walked toward her.
Dudu glanced at him but did not respond. Instead, she stepped a bit further away. The bus slowly came to a stop by the roadside. She glanced at him and then stepped onto the bus. Unexpectedly, he followed right after, took out his wallet, and asked her, "Do you have any change?"
Dudu rolled her eyes, "No!"
Without any further hassle, he pulled out a one hundred yuan bill from his wallet and tossed it into the fare box.
Dudu widened her eyes, then coolly acted as if she hadn’t seen anything and found a seat to sit. After all, one hundred yuan was pocket change for him, nothing to be distressed about, even though she now understood how hard earning money was...
He didn’t avoid her at all and directly sat in the seat next to her. Dudu deliberately ignored him and turned her head to look out the window, but her mind was entirely focused on him.
She wanted to act indifferent towards him, but he was right next to her, his warmth and breath so clear, she couldn’t feel at ease. All her calmness was just a facade; her heart had long been beating wildly for him.
This kind of scene was something she had once longed for with all her heart. Every time she sat alone on the bus, watching those sweet couples, she imagined if he were by her side, would he put his arm around her and shield her from the crowd...
However, he never took the bus with her; it was always her shamelessly squeezing into his car.
"This is my first time taking this."
The voice next to her made Dudu pause, then she pretended not to hear and continued looking out the window. But in reality, she was looking at his reflection in the glass.
"I’m talking to you."
Dudu lazily glanced at him, "Didn’t you say you don’t like talking to me?"
"If I say I do, would you talk to me?"
Dudu turned her head away again, "I don’t want to talk to you now."
After a brief silence, Dudu turned and asked, "I’m going home, are you going to follow me all the way?"
"I’m going home too."
Dudu gave him a side-eye, clearly not wanting to deal with him. They both remained silent until they got off the bus.
She stepped off the bus first, and he followed right after. Dudu couldn’t hold it in and turned around to say, "Why are you following me?!"
Shen Yiran pointed to the tall building in front of them, "I live here."
"How come I didn’t know you have a place here?"
"You know now, right?" he said, then strode forward.
Dudu watched him walk straight toward the building she lived in. She hurriedly took a few steps to catch up and question him, "Have you been stalking me?!"
He walked into the elevator, blocking the door with his hand, looking at her, and said, "I suspect you knew I have a place here and deliberately moved nearby."
Dudu quickly defended herself, "This is my marital home!"
Once she walked in, he pressed the floor number and the close-door button. Dudu looked at the lit-up floor number, frowned, and asked him, "When did you move here?"
He answered seriously, "Before you got married."
Dudu looked at him with a face full of doubt. After all, she had never heard of this before. And if he had lived there that long, how come the two of them had never run into each other before?
