"My alcohol tolerance isn’t that poor." he said while starting the car, driving towards an unknown destination.
They drove around for a while, and most of the surrounding shops were already closed. She still didn’t know where he was taking her.
Mo Ming parked the car on a commercial street. It was dark and nearly deserted. Xiaoxiao looked around and asked, "Are you looking for something?"
"Mm." He gave her only one word and didn’t tell her what he was looking for.
Before she could think much about it, the car started again and they drove to another brightly lit street, the City that Never Sleeps.
Most places here were entertainment venues, bustling at this hour. Mo Ming parked in front of a large department store and led her inside.
There were quite a few tourists here too. Even at this late hour, the supermarket was still crowded. Xiaoxiao followed him in silence, not knowing what he was looking for.
"Where is the jewelry section?" he asked an employee.
The employee smiled politely and pointed upstairs, saying, "Third floor."
He nodded slightly, glanced back at her to make sure she was following, then turned and continued forward.
Taking the escalator to the third floor, they were surrounded by an array of beautiful jewelry.
He looked around and directly led her to the diamond ring section. Pointing his chin at the rings in the display, he said, "Pick one."
