Chapter 305 - 283: Su Yan is Not the Same as Before (5)
Yi An followed Yin Xiaojing to Chinatown for hotpot, the best authentic hotpot place she had ever been to. It’s rare to find such a place abroad. Since she had a cold today, she wanted to eat something hot and spicy to sweat it out and feel a bit better. She really wanted to call Su Yan to ask if he wanted to join, but he didn’t really like oily and spicy food. Besides, he was probably busy with his girlfriend, so it was better not to bother him.
She sulkily finished the hotpot. Although she was sweating and her head felt less heavy, she felt even more terrible inside. She just wanted to go home, take a shower, and get a good night’s sleep.
Yin Xiaojing dropped her off at her building and left. Yi An muddle-headedly went upstairs, thinking about whether he would be home or not.
Perhaps because of her mood, the lights in the hallway seemed so much dimmer. She entered the password on the door, having no expectations when she opened it. Disappointment had become a habit.
In the past, whenever she came home, she always hoped he would be there. Upon seeing her come in, he would come to the door. Though his face wouldn’t look good, he would still say some concerned words.
Yet those things seemed so long ago.
She pushed open the door and saw a pair of men’s leather shoes at the entrance, but didn’t hear the familiar voice.
Knowing he was home, Yi An didn’t show much happiness. She changed her shoes and walked into the house, seeing him sitting on the sofa reading a script. She didn’t say a word to disturb him, and quietly walked to her room.
Su Yan, who was sitting on the sofa, lifted his head. It was unusual how obvious her emotions were. It was rare to see her not talking so much. Normally, she was always chattering happily.
After several minutes, Su Yan got up from the sofa and walked towards her room.
The light in the bathroom was on, but there was no sound of water. Su Yan sighed lightly, walked up, and knocked on the door. Her muffled voice came through: "What’s up?"
"Taking a shower?"
"What else would I do in the bathroom if not showering?"
Hearing the sharpness in her words, he wondered what had upset her today.
Yi An, who was in the bathroom, stopped her action of undressing, focusing on waiting for him to speak. However, there was no response from outside, and soon she heard footsteps moving away.
Feeling disappointed, she lowered her eyes and continued undressing. It seemed like they didn’t even have topics to talk about anymore.
After showering, she didn’t go out to find him. She wrapped herself in the blanket and lay on the bed. The cold seemed to have worsened, making her feel terrible. She was feverish, sweating coldly, and her head ached dully.
Su Yan sat in the living room, holding the script but always paying attention to the movements from her room.
Seeing the light go out, his heart chilled. He thought she would come and pester him shamelessly like she did last night. It seemed she really was in a bad mood. Could it be because of something Xu Leya said to her today?
Puzzling over it, he received a call from Yin Xiaojing: "Did An’an arrive home?"
"Yeah."
"That girl has a bit of a cold. Keep an eye on her. She has an ad shoot early tomorrow morning. Don’t let her get too sick."
Su Yan frowned. So, she had a cold.
He was about to go to sleep, but now he couldn’t stop worrying. He walked to her door and symbolically knocked. Without waiting for a response from inside, Su Yan simply pushed the door open.
The bedroom was dark, the hallway light forming a light area inside. Su Yan walked to the bed, reached out to feel her forehead, his tone cold: "Have a fever and didn’t tell?"
Yi An lazily glanced at him in the dark, wrapped in the blanket, too lazy to move or to talk.
