Chapter 213 - 192 Don’t Bully Her

Shen Yiran just glanced at her, ignored her, and drove away.Dudu felt relieved for a second, then pouted and looked at him: "Su Bao."

He pretended not to hear, driving on his own.

Dudu sensibly kept quiet, occasionally looking out the window, occasionally at him.

She was still wondering where he was taking her. As long as she was with him, it didn’t matter where they went.

"Su Bao, a new movie just came out recently. They all say it’s really good."

After speaking, she looked at his profile; he didn’t respond. Dudu added, "A new dessert shop opened ahead, the ice cream there is super delicious."

Shen Yiran still said nothing.

Dudu gave him a resentful look. She had hinted so obviously, yet he still didn’t get it.

Seeing his cold expression, Dudu kept quiet, sitting still, afraid he’d get annoyed and leave her by the roadside.

The car stopped under his company building. As she followed him out, Dudu complained, "It’s so late, and you’re still coming to work?"

Shen Yiran treated her as if she was invisible, walked straight into the elevator, and pressed the close button without waiting for her. Dudu had to run over quickly to avoid being left outside.

Once in his office, he quickly got into work mode. Dudu pulled up a chair to sit next to him, picked a book from the shelf to read.

Unlike before, she didn’t disturb his work, trying her best to improve his impression of her, thinking maybe he wouldn’t dislike her as much.

That was her plan, but soon she couldn’t sit still. Looking at the complicated barcodes on the book, her head started to spin, and her eyes began to blur.

She turned to look at him, his fingers typing rapidly on the keyboard. Even though she was in the same field, she found it hard to understand.

She wanted to talk to him but was afraid of disturbing him. Looking around, she bent down to open the drawer, hoping to find something to eat.

She used to leave some snacks here, but since he stopped her from coming, she hadn’t bought any in a while. She was hoping he remembered her habit and left a drawer full of snacks for her, but she was thinking too much.

Shen Yiran glanced at her, then turned his attention back to the screen as she straightened up.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw her stand up, search the room, then walk up to him and stare. Finally, she timidly asked, "Could you give me some money to buy food?"

Shen Yiran paused his work, looked at her, then expressionlessly took out his wallet and handed her two hundred yuan.

She smiled brightly, took the money, and then asked, "Do you want anything?"

Seeing he only put away his wallet without responding, Dudu pouted and left.

Originally, the convenience store was a bit of a distance away. She used to love staying up late with him at work, but she also loved to make a fuss, insisting on buying food in the middle of the night. He didn’t feel comfortable letting her go alone, worried something might happen to her. So, he had a convenience store opened near his company, which made things a lot easier and eased his worries.

Honestly, having her around while he worked made him feel comfortable, but he didn’t dare to indulge, afraid of growing greedy for more.

It was hard enough for him to make her less dependent on him; he didn’t want to ruin it all by giving in.

Not long after, she returned, carrying a large bag of food and drinks. She even crossed the street to buy fried chicken, likely spending all the money he gave her.

Breathlessly, she placed the items on the table. Like presenting a treasure, she took out a cup and handed it to him, saying, "I know you don’t drink milk tea; this is juice, freshly squeezed."

Shen Yiran turned to look at the cup in her hand. It seemed like it had spilled on the way back, as the juice was still dripping from the cup.

She probably noticed his gaze, checked the cup herself, then scratched her head sheepishly and said, "It spilled on the way back, but it’s clean!"

Shen Yiran averted his gaze, handed her the tissue roll next to him. She pulled out two pieces, and instead of first wiping her own hands, she wiped the cup clean, then placed it by his side.

"Try it; it’s really good."

Shen Yiran said nothing, continuing to type on the keyboard.

Unlike before, she didn’t insist he drink it. She sat by herself and laid out the food on the table.

"Do you want a chicken leg?"

Shen Yiran just furrowed his brows and turned his head, indicating he didn’t like it. She dejectedly pulled her hand back and stuffed the chicken leg into her own mouth.
