A human face grew on its crown, and its body was covered in countless vines. It fixed its gaze on the Steel Beast, its eyes gleaming with a bone-chilling killing intent.

That giant Demon Tree was the Face Demon Tree King of this forest. Beside it stood ten Human-faced Demon Tree Generals, each fifty meters tall, their eyes all fixed on the Steel Beast.

The Face Demon Tree King shrieked in pain as countless vines whipped furiously toward the Steel Beast.

The steel blades on the Steel Beast’s body whirled into a frenzy, shredding each and every vine. It swung its great axe with tremendous force, carving a large hole in the Face Demon Tree King’s trunk in just a few moments.

Inside the gaping hole was a piece of wood, the length of two fingers. It was crystal clear and thrummed with countless mysteries—the core of the Face Demon Tree King, the Heart of Wood.

The Steel Beast reached in, grabbed the Heart of Wood, and tore it free. With a flicker of its body, it shot back toward Shu Feng like a meteor.
