Chapter 120 - 119: Seizing Steel City

Chapter 120 - 119: Seizing Steel City

An officer wearing gray Badge Armor burst into the Divine Hall and shrieked, "General, sir! It’s bad! Tage Mulis has led his men into the city! He launched a surprise attack, and he’s already broken through the city gates!"

"Tage Mulis... that stray dog actually dares to attack Steel City! It seems he’s underestimated me. Does he think that without the Grand General, there’s no one left in Steel City who can stop him?"

A cold glint flashed in Agulev’s eyes. He pressed the badge on his chest, and his entire body was instantly covered in a suit of black Badge Armor. In the center of his black armor was the emblem of a terrifying giant python.

"Take her back!"

Agulev left this command, his figure blurred, and he shot out of the Divine Hall.

Twenty of Agulev’s Personal Guards flew out from various parts of the Divine Hall, following closely behind him as they sped outside.

Agulev quickly arrived on the battlefield and saw at a glance that Tage Mulis was leading more than twenty giant species polluters, over twenty Ghost-devouring Demons, three hundred Black Dog Illusion Demons, Ye Mingxi, and the elites of the Resman Empire in a fierce battle against the guards of Steel City.

The two powerhouses, Tage Mulis and Ye Mingxi, swept through the battlefield. Wherever they passed, the Badge Masters among the Steel City guards were cut down one after another.

The most elite thousand-man unit of Steel City had been taken away by Yin Shu, and the remaining guards were no match for the mixed legion.

"Tage Mulis, you dare launch a sneak attack on Steel City! Today, this place will be your grave!"

A cold light flashed in Agulev’s eyes. With a sharp cry, he charged directly into the battlefield, his sword striking like a vicious and cunning giant python, thrusting straight at Tage Mulis.

As Yin Shu’s second-in-command, Agulev also possessed terrifying strength, and was even slightly superior to Tage Mulis before his evolution.

"Agulev! The one who’s going to die is you! You fool!!"

Tage Mulis let out a savage grin as his hidden power erupted in an instant. Like a terrifyingly ferocious giant bear, he slashed out, his sword viciously striking Agulev’s long sword.

CLANG!!

An incredibly terrifying force exploded outward. Agulev’s long sword was knocked aside, and his right hand went numb.

’Tage Mulis, how did he suddenly become so strong? Could he have also broken his limits and advanced to Grandmaster?’

A look of disbelief flashed in Agulev’s eyes as he hurriedly retreated.

"Haha!! Die!!"

Tage Mulis laughed maniacally and lunged forward. With a sound like tearing air, his sword flashed across Agulev’s body.

Agulev’s body shuddered, his eyes filled with disbelief. He was split in two, and a spray of blood erupted as his corpse fell to the ground.

"Agulev is dead! Yin Shu is dead too! If you don’t surrender now, do you want to die with them? Those who surrender will be spared! Those who resist will be shown no mercy!!"

Tage Mulis gave a savage grin, pulled Yin Shu’s severed head from a cloth bag at his waist, and held it high as he roared.

"General Agulev is dead!!"

"The Grand General... that’s the Grand General’s head! The Grand General is dead too!!"

"Run! Run for your lives!!"

"..."

When the guards of Steel City saw Yin Shu’s severed head, their morale instantly collapsed. Except for a few die-hard loyalists who continued to resist, most of them scattered in all directions.

Steel City originally belonged to the Kang En Empire. After Yin Shu occupied it, he relocated about 30,000 people from the Tandu Empire to become the city’s new ruling class.

After Shu Feng conquered Steel City, thousands of people from the Tandu Empire fled, but many more remained, trembling in place, waiting to be ruled by their new master.

Outside the city, the land was crawling with polluters and Pollution Mutant Beasts corrupted by the Power of Void Demon. Badge Masters could contend with them, but ordinary people had no ability to survive outside the city walls.

Within Steel City were twenty thousand slaves from the Resman Empire. Tage Mulis freed them, selected the strong and able-bodied, and had them join Shu Feng’s forces.

Not to be outdone, Ye Mingxi began recruiting people from the Kang En Empire within the city, preparing to fill the positions in Steel City’s power structure.

Li Xuan Yi proactively joined in, recruiting subordinates and acting as Shu Feng’s deputy to formulate various policies for governing Steel City.

Zhao Zixing also joined in soon after, offering her own suggestions on the policies for governing Steel City.

The addition of Li Xuan Yi and Zhao Zixing made Shu Feng understand what true professionalism was. The two of them were genuine prodigies who had received the strict education of a Noble Family’s Son. Although they lacked experience, they knew how to govern a city from books and the teachings of their elders.

After all, every Noble Family had its own territory in the Erosion Realm, and governing that territory was part of the curriculum for every Noble Family’s Son.

Luo Feng, Ma Jue, and Yuehai also joined, becoming officials of Steel City and assisting Shu Feng in ruling it. They all knew very well that only by making good use of Steel City’s power and finding a way to control this world could they seize control of their own destinies.

In the center of the courtyard deepest within the City Lord’s Mansion, there was a square White Jade Box. Around the White Jade Box were inscribed countless profound and mysterious Curse Seals.

A ray of sunlight descended from the sky and entered the White Jade Box. Inside the box was a layer of golden, luminous fluid, and soaking within that fluid was a badge inscribed with countless Profound Mysterious Curse Seals.

"My Lord, this is the treasure our world uses to create badges, the [Holy Emblem Box]! It is a treasure refined from the incomparably precious Ahale Mother Stone."

"In our world, a badge-making master typically forges a basic badge and then places it into the [Holy Emblem Box] to soak for one month. That badge will then become an Extraordinary Badge, possessing Extraordinary Power."

"After obtaining an Extraordinary Badge, we can cultivate using a Meditation Method, create a Resonance with the badge, and find materials to integrate into it."

"Each time a badge is about to reach its limit, it must be soaked in the [Holy Emblem Box] again to break through and evolve into a High Level badge."

"With this [Holy Emblem Box], we can create a continuous supply of Badge Masters! This is the foundation for any power to flourish!"

Before this, because they had lost the [Holy Emblem Box], the number of Badge Masters among the survivors of the Resman Empire, like Tage Mulis, dwindled with every death, and it was difficult for the remaining ones to evolve. Now, possessing the [Holy Emblem Box] was equivalent to having an endless supply of Badge Masters—a foundation, and the resources to wage war against the other four great generals.
