Chapter 2266 - 2267: Lost
Chapter 2266 - 2267: Lost
"Tower Spirit? Perhaps, but it’s more likely to be a form of autonomous rule, which wasn’t uncommon in the Mythical Era, was it?"
As Feng Yuan swung the sickle, he began to dismantle their defensive line. With those black star clouds interfering, the guardians couldn’t spare attention for them. Glancing at everyone, Feng Yuan said,
"Let’s go. Take advantage of this good opportunity to advance; otherwise, we might have to fight again later."
All the guardians originally surrounding Feng Yuan’s group shifted their focus entirely onto the black star clouds, and the path ahead reappeared.
As they moved forward, Feng Yuan noticed that the pink star clouds had somehow quietly slipped closer. Raising the black scythe, Feng Yuan watched the approaching pink star clouds with vigilance.
While the intentions of the regular and black star clouds were easy to guess, the pink star clouds were different. In Feng Yuan’s eyes, they were like little thieves sneaking in, and what they wanted was uncertain, but certainly not anything good.
If these things targeted them, Feng Yuan wouldn’t be polite, because he believed they wouldn’t be protected by the rules of this space, just like the black star clouds. If exposed, they might even be hunted down by those guardians.
Perhaps sensing Feng Yuan’s killing intent, the pink star clouds didn’t continue to approach but floated around the group. Noticing these strange pink star clouds, Qi Chen puzzledly said,
"Are they trying to tell us something?"
"Who knows? With such unclear entities, the easiest solution is to treat them as enemies."
Feng Yuan coldly smiled, swinging the long-handled sickle, and the closest pink star cloud seemed startled by Feng Yuan’s action, quickly darting backward before cautiously inching forward again.
Dou Yanlan considered the pink star clouds while pinching her chin, saying,
"But, it might be some special situation. If you don’t want to bother, we could give it a try."
Looking at Qiu Hanmo, Dou Yanlan spoke, understanding Feng Yuan’s mentality, as testing can be troublesome and risky, while direct action is simpler.
Nonetheless, Dou Yanlan felt these pink star clouds might hold something worth exploring.
Although Qiu Hanmo wasn’t familiar with Feng Yuan, he understood Dou Yanlan’s implication. Seeing both agreed, Feng Yuan didn’t object, and clearing a path while holding the black scythe said,
"Then give it a try. Don’t get too close; I’d rather not rush in to save hostages now."
Smiling at Feng Yuan, Dou Yanlan acknowledged his advice and assured Qi Chen about safety, jumping off the White Wolf Deity’s back.
Watching Dou Yanlan head towards the pink star clouds, Qi Chen initially wanted to stop her but ultimately didn’t, with no valid reason to halt her.
Though the star cloud guardians were currently engrossed in battling the black star clouds, with no immediate resolution, Dou Yanlan and Qiu Hanmo understood not to waste much time on these curious pink star clouds.
Unexpectedly, the pink star clouds began to show goodwill. While they didn’t speak, through gestures and assumptions, they managed to communicate roughly.
The pink star clouds also seemed aware that it wasn’t the time to stall, and although their true intentions remained unclear, Qiu Hanmo and Dou Yanlan could preliminarily assess they harbored no ill will toward their group.
However, whether to follow their lead was uncertain, as it might be a trap.
Everyone looked toward Feng Yuan, who scratched his head saying,
"Why not see what they’re up to? Even if it’s a trap, it shouldn’t be a big problem."
Though suspicious, the pink star clouds weren’t significantly stronger than the black star clouds, so Feng Yuan wasn’t overly concerned about the group’s safety.
Moreover, he was curious about who backed the pink star clouds. If their speculation was correct, the regular star clouds represented the creators of this parallel world, and the black star clouds were clearly linked to the dark zone.
The pink star clouds didn’t belong to either, though if in reality, it would be understandable due to complex factions. Yet in a parallel world, it was different.
The dark zone is a hostile intruder. While its origin is unclear, Feng Yuan was certain they wouldn’t create other factions, nor would those old allies from the Mythical Era easily split internally.
Beyond these two forces, it couldn’t be a naturally occurring faction within the parallel world, could it?
Remember, the inherent flaws of parallel worlds limit the freedom of beings within, making the formation of resistant organisations almost impossible.
While curious, Feng Yuan wasn’t about to recklessly endanger others. Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan were protected by the White Wolf Deity, whereas Qiu Hanmo and Yang Hongzhi faced more challenges.
Yang Hongzhi was alright, with Najia on his shoulder, but Qiu Hanmo wasn’t a Divine Pact Maker and couldn’t ride on the White Wolf Deity like Qi Chen.
After some thought, Feng Yuan looked at Agunas saying,
"Please, stay close to Qiu Hanmo. I fear something might happen."
Agunas nodded without objection, settling on Qiu Hanmo’s shoulder, watching the pink star clouds saying,
"Be careful."
Although most spatial transfer techniques treat connected beings as the same target, not all do.
To ensure safety, Feng Yuan and Veronia led the way, with Xiao Ji closely following behind, hesitating on whether to change into Eggshell Chicken form and cling to Feng Yuan’s head.
After some thought, Xiao Ji abandoned the idea, as such transformation wouldn’t allow it to fight and might burden Feng Yuan in ensuring its safety.
At the front, the pink star clouds led the way while the group followed at a distance. Initially, the pink star clouds followed the stone road, but soon stopped, revealing hidden stone slabs that branched into a new path.
Feng Yuan pondered, eyeing the pink star clouds suspiciously. The newly exposed road structures mirrored the current stone path but whether this was a creation by the entities behind them utilizing space resources or originally the place remained unknown.
After consideration, Feng Yuan ventured first onto the new stone road, frequently checking behind, noticing the path slowly faded as they advanced.
Was this path hidden, or were the entities afraid of facing the true masters of this space head-on?
Overwhelmed with questions, Feng Yuan became momentarily confused.
The guiding pink star clouds ignored the back group’s thoughts, silently leading. After a while, numerous paths branched out before them.
Just as Feng Yuan watched for the pink star clouds’ choice, he was surprised to see them open a further hidden path ahead.
That was just the beginning, as progressing brought sometimes hidden correct paths outside branching paths, sometimes within, and occasionally reversing towards their original direction revealing a mysterious new path.
"What are they doing, turning this into a maze? What’s the purpose?"
Watching the leading pink star clouds, Feng Yuan spoke irritably, unable to fathom their aim. Though remembering their original path, constant turns puzzled him, was the entity behind the pink star clouds that scared of confronting the space’s true owner?
But that didn’t make sense, as a maze meant nothing to this space’s ruler, dependent on space; they could easily pierce through the maze using their authority.
