Chapter 1882 - 1883: Mirror Surface
Chapter 1882 - 1883: Mirror Surface
However, unexpectedly after passing through the fireworks celebration, the entire roller coaster track became straight, yet the surrounding environment made Feng Yuan and the others’ eyes extremely uncomfortable.
"Tch! This Mirror Kaleidoscope background is truly terrifying."
With eyes closed, Feng Yuan said with a face full of disdain. He sensed that the roller coaster had entered a Spatial Loop state, and Feng Yuan had to use Divine Sense to perceive the surroundings. Yet even observing with Divine Sense made the Mirror Kaleidoscope uncomfortable, as the constantly refracted scenes couldn’t be ignored like shielding strong light.
The floating Mirror Shards seemed to be ready to fill in the gaps, but when Feng Yuan observed the true environment with Divine Sense, he found that none of the Mirror Shards could match up with the gaps.
"Strange, how exactly does this thing get unlocked?"
Veronia murmured in confusion, looking at the Mirror Shard in her hand. This thing seemed to only have the function of refraction and reflection, not something overly troublesome, yet everyone was trapped in this repetitive looping space.
Yang Hongzhi forced himself to observe the surroundings with his eyes. The constantly refracted scenes of the Mirror Kaleidoscope combined with the high-speed roller coaster almost made Yang Hongzhi carsick. But with just that glance, he seemed to have discovered something special.
"Najia, lend me your power."
Forcing himself to endure the nauseous feeling, Yang Hongzhi said to Najia. Although the latter did not quite understand what Yang Hongzhi intended to do, she did not hesitate to lend her power to him.
Xiao Hei whimpered, not understanding why Yang Hongzhi didn’t draw power from him. Was he being disliked?!
Disregarding Xiao Hei’s wild thoughts, Yang Hongzhi forced himself to observe with the naked eye. As soon as a Mirror Shard appeared, he immediately used Telekinesis to grab it and quickly moved it to a position a short distance away from the gap.
Unexpectedly for Feng Yuan and the others, the Mirror Shard suddenly emitted light and transformed into a streak of light that rushed into the gap, filling it.
"Indeed..."
Pale-faced, Yang Hongzhi said weakly. Although he merely moved a Mirror Shard, the precise control had consumed a lot of his energy, not to mention facing the dizzying Mirror Kaleidoscope.
"What exactly did you discover?"
Najia asked Yang Hongzhi in confusion. Given his current state, relying on him to unravel the puzzle was anything but realistic.
After a while, Yang Hongzhi finally spoke
"Those mirror-like fragments need to align with the gap..."
"But the gap corresponds visually, not directly inserted into the gap, but requires the shard to visually match the gap, with that observation point being fleeting, plus this place..."
"So that’s it."
Upon hearing Yang Hongzhi, Feng Yuan suddenly understood the solution to this darned place, except...
He glanced at the dizzying Mirror Kaleidoscope and sighed; this thing was more troublesome than a chaotic boss fight.
"What an awful puzzle."
Veronia couldn’t help but lament. Despite her reluctance to deal with this thing, Veronia suppressed such thoughts, considering they were companions. They couldn’t pass all the trouble onto others.
However, even Feng Yuan couldn’t directly diminish the influence of the Mirror Kaleidoscope. So, despite their strength, everyone spent a lot of time passing through this area. Indeed, even though Feng Yuan and Veronia could rely on their strength to endure discomfort, finding the gap that matched the Mirror Shard among a series of continuous reflected and refracted images wasn’t easy.
If not for Yang Hongzhi accidentally seeing that extremely short-lived gap image at the time, Feng Yuan and others might not have known the solution to this place.
Once the final gap was filled, the repetitive looping space was completely unlocked, and the nightmare-like Mirror Kaleidoscope space quickly disappeared from everyone’s sight. Gazing at the night sky, Feng Yuan exhaled deeply, saying
"Truly uncomfortable..."
"Nonetheless, it seems the destination is reached."
Veronia seemed to be slightly better than Feng Yuan, casting a glance at the theme park under the illumination of lights. Several areas had turned completely dark under the neon lights, and the roller coaster station was now close at hand.
As the roller coaster passed through the deceleration channel, the once racing roller coaster finally slowed down and came to a steady stop on the platform. But even before it stopped, Veronia in the front seat had already dashed out.
"Although it’s inappropriate to break the rules, I really want to know what happens when you get knocked down!"
Crystal Rose struck toward the clown who was about to put down the gift box provocatively. Veronia said coldly, striding forward, yet the clown suddenly let out strange laughter and vanished into the exploding white smoke, dropping the gift box abruptly on the ground.
An additional bang, possibly triggering some mechanism, sprayed ribbons and confetti from the gift box. Yet, due to the box top facing the entrance upon falling, Veronia didn’t get hit by the exploding gift box.
"Really dangerous, but you escaped again."
With a cold snort, Veronia approached. With a wave of her hand, Crystal Rose shredded the top-exploded gift box. Among the fragments, apart from a key fragment featuring a roller coaster, there was nothing else suspicious.
"Why did you suddenly dash out?"
Feng Yuan and Yang Hongzhi ran off the car after it came to a stop, as the control room wall blocked them during docking. They hadn’t noticed what had happened, coupled with the roaring sound of parking, making them unaware of any strange sounds there.
"Nothing much, just saw the clown again."
Picking up the key fragment, Veronia said nonchalantly, handing it to Feng Yuan. It’s better to leave this thing entirely with him; otherwise, spreading it among everyone would be troublesome if they got separated in case of an accident.
"That thing appeared again?"
Receiving the key fragment from Veronia and keeping it safely, Feng Yuan remarked in surprise, remembering something and frowned, saying
"Could it be that thing is the final boss? But that doesn’t make sense, as our destination is clearly the Tashimar Fantasy Circus."
"Perhaps the opponent might block our way at the circus entrance? After all, based on the several ascensions, our current location seems devoid of circus traces."
"Presumably in another space; otherwise, the key fragments would be meaningless. However, this thing..."
Holding up the key fragment for a while, Feng Yuan felt it seemed somewhat incorrect. Though a few slots appeared remaining, he felt the roller coaster key fragment wouldn’t combine with the other key fragments.
Could there really be two keys?
Thinking so, Feng Yuan stowed the key fragment again. Veronia observed the now dark station and smiled slightly, saying
"If we continue staying here, will the Black Mist be stuck or engulf both us and everything else?"
"Uncertain, but it’s best not to gamble on such matters—getting glitched out would be more troublesome."
With a glance at Veronia, Feng Yuan said as he led the way toward the exit. Abnormal Space itself wasn’t stable enough; if a glitch occurred, it might cause significant trouble.
"Actually, except for potential sacrifices, things wouldn’t need to be so bothersome."
Looking at Feng Yuan’s back, Veronia murmured to herself. Somehow the clown made her feel uneasy, not only due to its elusive nature—her instinct told her it was challenging.
Whether through suppression or coincidence, just as everyone left the exit, Black Mist rapidly emerged behind them, consuming the entire roller coaster facility. The Black Mist’s appearance speed was much faster than previous occurrences. Feng Yuan shook his head and looked at the signpost, where another divided path was written ahead.
"The Pendulum and Spinning Teacups... although I feel Spinning Teacups may be slightly relieving, it’s... still somewhat uncomfortable."
He glanced at the names on the signpost, muttering, as he looked at the people behind him. There was no choice; if not for the final Mirror Kaleidoscope, Feng Yuan would surely pick the Spinning Teacups. For now, he could only see what others might say.
