Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 336 - 184: Our Lawrence Is Blessed

Chapter 336 - 184: Our Lawrence Is Blessed

Nick Zeller felt irritable, took off his jacket, and fanned himself with a pretentious folding fan, saying, "Why wouldn’t I be happy? I just don’t know how long he can be good to Lawrence.""Why are you thinking so much? He’s been good to our Lawrence for over ten years now. If he were going to get tired of it, he would’ve long ago. We watched him grow up, he’s genuinely good-hearted and beautiful." Gabrielle Winters seemed confident in Kenneth Osborne.

Nick Zeller scoffed internally, thinking women are not only shallow but vain. Why not just admit they’re into looks? They have to talk about inner beauty...

Who believes that?!

Why not just openly admit they’re into looks?

Spouting off with all that nonsense.

Gabrielle Winters was too lazy to bicker more with Nick Zeller. She remembered Lawrence Winters needed to rest at home for a week, so she better prepare some nutritious recipes, especially for brain nourishment.

Lawrence’s concussion still hadn’t fully healed.

Nick Zeller saw her heading to the kitchen and followed behind.

The old Daoist went straight to his room to tinker with his stuff as soon as he got back.

The spacious flat had plenty of rooms; each of the five people was doing their own thing, making the floor eerily quiet except for the occasional hum of the central air conditioner breaking the silence.

Lawrence Winters was carried back to the bedroom by Kenneth Osborne.

She struggled to get down, saying, "I need to change; I wore this in the hospital."

Kenneth Osborne didn’t say a word and went to her wardrobe to pick out an ash-grey and purple casual outfit, easy to change into at home and comfortable for sleeping.

Lawrence Winters also liked the outfit very much, gleefully picking it up and saying, "I’m going to change now, Kenneth, you should head out first."

Kenneth Osborne was about to go out, but with Lawrence Winters’s reminder, he couldn’t help but give her a quick once-over again.

Lawrence Winters had been on the plump side since her teenage years, so the more feminine parts of her body were well-developed.

Though she lost a lot of weight now, those areas were still impressive.

And now, with her slimmer figure, she had a slender waist, long legs, and a swan-like neck. Her silhouette was so curvy it almost seemed exaggerated like a character in a comic.

Kenneth Osborne only glanced for a moment before quickly averting his gaze, his face a bit hot. He turned swiftly and said, "I’ve got something to do outside; once you’re settled, take a nap and get up in the evening for dinner."

Lawrence Winters nodded, "Thanks, Kenneth."

Kenneth Osborne walked out of Lawrence Winters’s room, stood at the door for a moment, then returned to his own.

Just as he stepped inside, the doorbell suddenly rang.

They had only moved into this apartment a few days ago, so not many friends knew the address yet.

Therefore, hearing the doorbell, Nick Zeller immediately ran out from the kitchen, asking around in the spacious flat.

"Kenneth, is it a friend of yours?"

Kenneth Osborne came out from his room, saying, "No."

Nick Zeller again asked Lawrence Winters, "Lawrence, is it a friend of yours?"

Lawrence Winters, having just changed clothes, walked out and said, "Nope, I don’t have that many friends either. Uncle, are you sure it’s not one of your buddies?"

"Ah, nuts! Your friends are friends, but my friends are shady?— Shameless!" Nick Zeller laughed and cursed, raising his hand as if to smack her head.

Kenneth Osborne quickly raised his hand to stop him, protecting Lawrence Winters, "Uncle Nick, Nora’s head injury hasn’t healed yet."

"Hmph! I think her brain is injured, too much water got in!" Nick Zeller intentionally teased Lawrence Winters.

But Lawrence Winters just smiled sweetly, not angry at all, and retorted, "Like uncle, like niece. If the niece’s brain is waterlogged, then the uncle’s brain must be impaired, in short, brain-dead."

"You’re the brain-dead one! Your whole family’s brain-dead!" Nick Zeller put his hands on his hips, pointing a finger at Lawrence Winters.

Lawrence Winters giggled, "That’s right! Uncle, you’re part of our family; do you dare say you’re not brain-dead?"

Nick Zeller was amused by her, "You, dissing even your uncle, I guess girls really can’t be kept around once they grow up."

Kenneth Osborne smirked and changed the topic, "Could it be a friend of the old Daoist’s visiting him?"

Nick Zeller went to ask the old Daoist, "Master, are you expecting a visitor today?"

The old Daoist shouted, "Who? Who’s visiting me?!"

It wasn’t the old Daoist’s friend then.

Curious, Nick Zeller went to his room to check the surveillance.

In the lobby downstairs, two well-dressed, exceedingly handsome men stood by the intercom near the elevator.

Since their elevator was direct, with no corresponding entryway, one couldn’t get into the elevator, hence the doorbell and the need to find the corresponding room number on the lobby’s touchscreen.

"Isn’t that Lawrence’s boss?" Nick Zeller scratched his head, "That little boss named Foster. Who’s the guy next to him with the sunglasses?"

He called out to Lawrence Winters, "Lawrence, come over, see if you recognize these two."

Lawrence Winters had been about to go back to her room to rest but was called over by Nick Zeller to identify people.

Kenneth Osborne accompanied her.

The two of them glanced at the two men’s faces on the high-definition screen and immediately recognized them.

Lawrence Winters was surprised, "That’s Mr. Foster and Lucas!— Why are they here?"

Nick Zeller turned on the intercom, "Why not ask them."

He spoke into the intercom, "Excuse me, who are you looking for?"

Edward Foster quickly spoke into the intercom, "I’m Lawrence Winters’s superior, and this is an artist under her management. We heard Lawrence was ill and came to see her."

As he spoke, he picked up a bouquet of pure white lilies-of-the-valley placed by his feet and hugged them to his chest.

From this angle, his face wasn’t outshone by the lilies-of-the-valley at all.

Lawrence Winters hadn’t expected Edward Foster and Lucas Harlow to come see her and nervously fidgeted with her hands, "Oh, I’m just a little unwell, you didn’t have to..."

Kenneth Osborne suddenly spoke up beside her, "You just fell off a ten-story building yesterday, and you say you’re just a little unwell?!"

Two urgent male voices suddenly came through the intercom.

"What?! Lawrence fell off a ten-story building! How is her injury?!" This was Edward Foster’s voice, so anxious it altered his tone.

"Lawrence, don’t be afraid; I’ll find you the best doctors immediately! Orthopedics, internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, neurology, you name it; I’ll get them from abroad, and they can be in Capital City by tomorrow at the latest." This was Lucas Harlow’s voice, with a hint of unsteady trembling beneath its steady exterior.
