Gabriel only felt as if all the blood vessels in his body were knotting together in that moment.

His body quickly went limp, and he subsequently lost all ability to move.

"Alright, stop," Nemus said softly, his faint words carrying an unquestionable authority.

Buke immediately halted. Galen had originally intended to launch an attack right then, but feeling a sudden chill fall over him, the swinging motion of his sword involuntarily paused.

Only Brent gritted his teeth and charged forward.

No matter what, Gabriel was his current companion, and he had to save him.

"You do have some chivalric spirit," Nemus noted, a flash of appreciation crossing his eyes as he watched Brent rush over.

Gabriel harbored darkness in his heart, but he also held onto his own convictions. He was a very useful talent, which was why Nemus, acting in Fass's stead, had inflicted upon him the same pain that Fass's family had suffered.

Although this could not resolve the enmity between Fass and Gabriel, it at least ensured that both parties could exert their efforts in different roles without interfering with each other.

As for Galen, he was merely a man full of jealousy with limited capabilities.Conversely, Brent was truly a talent.

Even though it was fundamentally difficult for someone like him to stand on his side, Nemus still admired the man.

His intervention this time was simply to set the tone for this Incident.

Several Steel Orbs shot out.

Brent narrowed his eyes. His Blade Edge continuously emitted fluctuations, which he used for Sensing.

He swung his sword and slashed.

The Blade Edge danced, deflecting the incoming Steel Orbs into the air.

However, in the very next moment, Brent realized that his footsteps were gradually slowing down.

Compared to Fass's previous action of unleashing dozens of Steel Orbs all at once, Nemus firing them one by one certainly posed a much smaller direct threat.

Yet, the operational precision involved had drastically improved.

Every single orb aimed squarely at his vitals, forcing him to either dodge or parry with the sword in his hand. Before he even knew it, his entire range of movement had been completely restricted.

"There is no need for you to be so agitated," Nemus said as he flicked the final Steel Orb. The projectile struck Brent directly in the chest, bringing his charging momentum to a complete halt and making his breathing arduous in that moment.

However, Nemus did not deliver a killing blow afterward. Instead, he declared loudly,

"I merely had a minor collaboration with the Floating World Society, which is how I obtained an elder position."

"Right now, I am just selling some Demonic power to give these people at the bottom a chance. Why must you harp on it endlessly?"

Nemus directly employed sophistry, playing The Thief Crying "Stop Thief!".

Even though the fault clearly lay with him, he seized the initiative to accuse others of being unreasonable and relentlessly nagging.

Most importantly, during this process, Nemus hoisted a grand banner—the people at the lowest rung of society.

Thus, even if the Church possessed the legitimate authority to govern the matter, their justification would be significantly diminished by this.

Of course, his true objective was to coincidentally leak the false information that he was the remaining uncaptured elder of the Floating World Society, disguising himself as Becky.

As of right now, the development scale and prospects of the Construct Protocol had already far surpassed the Floating World Society.

But once Nemus broadcasted this title of a collaborating elder, the Construct Protocol would naturally be perceived as an organization one tier below the Floating World Society, at least until they caused a major disturbance.

'It is merely a small organization established by a surviving, marginalized elder'—such a Cognition would be established from this.

Ultimately, this battle was just a clash between three Intern Holy Knights and a few commoners who had acquired Demonic power. Not even a true Demon had appeared, so it was hardly a major issue.

Yet, at the same time, the impact of this event was not small either.

Fass's combat prowess had been fully demonstrated during this clash. "Take Fass, for example," Nemus said, spreading his arms wide and drawing the gazes of many onlookers.

The people of the South District feared death far less than one might imagine, and among them were quite a few Bloodthirsty Spectators.

After the battle broke out, there were more people crowding around to watch than expected.

In the past, there had even been rumors that eating the flesh of a Holy Knight would grant power. This led to incidents in the South District where sacrificed Holy Knights had their corpses snatched and dismembered by countless people.

Now, however, the slightly smarter individuals had already gleaned some intelligence.

For instance, the fact that the Construct Protocol could sell power in batches.

Nemus slightly pulled open Fass's collar. From his chest to his collarbone, up his neck, and extending to his earlobe, there were black patterns that resembled a cluster of restless flames.

"This is the Berserk Accessory I developed. Those who receive the transplant can directly undergo an Awakening of their Mental Power."

"When paired with an Alchemical Bracer, one can achieve a combat style similar to what you just witnessed." Nemus was indeed not lying, though his narrative had a slight deviation from the whole truth.

Fass's "just now" was one thing, and Nemus's "just now" was another.

Fass's situation was the standard norm, whereas Nemus's meticulous manipulation of the Steel Orbs represented the ultimate goal of the Berserk Accessory.

Perhaps if Fass went berserk a few more times, completely synchronized with his rampant Mental Power, and then underwent extensive training, he might eventually be able to achieve that level.

Right now, it could only be described as, "Images are for reference only; the actual product may vary."

However, the rest of the crowd currently did not know this. The sheer appeal of the "image" Nemus had just presented was already taking effect.

Among the gathered crowd, there was no telling how many people were deeply moved by the prospect.

Being Bloodthirsty Spectators, they naturally desired to become part of the carnage in the arena, drinking the blood of others.

It was just that previously, they had possessed virtually no methods to acquire power. But at this moment—

The name "Berserk Accessory" engraved itself deeply into the hearts of the people at this moment.

"Until we meet again!" Nemus declared. With that, he had already withdrawn from Fass's body.

After all, Fass had yet to fully mature. If his spirit intruded for too long, there was a high likelihood the boy would develop a mental illness as a result.

With Nemus's departure, Fass regained control of his body.

Fass could feel the Heaven-and-Earth Difference; the Mental Power that was so docile in Nemus's hands felt as though it was fraught with a thousand problems when he tried to control it himself.

Even though Nemus was the outsider, while he was the original owner of this Mental Power.

However, this thought was merely fleeting. Fass quickly began to wrap things up.

Before leaving, Nemus had handed him the choice of whether or not to kill Gabriel.

It was true that Nemus had thoughts of recruiting Gabriel, but that did not conflict with his decision to let Fass choose whether to execute him.

Even though this was simply a showcase event, and the event had already completed its primary objective at this moment.

The pretext they had used, after all, was Fass taking revenge.

"I will not forgive you," Fass said, looking down at the increasingly weakened Gabriel on the ground. "This time, it was not me who personally defeated you."

"Next time... Next time, I will kill you!"

After speaking, Fass cast one last glance at Al, who seemed to have already perished not far away, and then signaled Buke to leave.

As the two departed, the Priests stationed at the Church Outpost rushed over to provide reinforcement.

Seeing this scene, Brent finally swayed and collapsed.
