Defeating the World with the Power of One Dragon!

Chapter 94: Offering Flesh and Loyalty

Chapter 94: Offering Flesh and Loyalty

Garoth's dragon claw sank deep into the Gluttonous Ogre's chest, clearly feeling the heartbeat within.

Karu’s black iron-like skin groaned under the immense pressure, his throat rolling with reluctant roars.

He opened his blood-red maw, his shark-like teeth biting fiercely into Garoth's dragon arm, but it felt like biting into refined iron—the scales’ hardness numbed his jaws.

He struggled wildly, trying to break free from Garoth’s grip, but the dragon weight pressing down on him was like a mountain. The dragon claw did not budge; instead, it pressed down inch by inch as he struggled, cracking his sternum with crunching sounds.

“I’ll give you two choices.”

Garoth leaned down close, his breath hot with the scent of sulfur and metal blowing onto the Gluttonous Ogre’s face. His dragon wings slowly lifted and stretched out, the guillotine-like wing bones pressing against the ogre’s neck, slicing a line of blood.

“The first choice is death.”

Garoth’s gaze was stern, filled with lethal intent: “I will annihilate your clan, break every bone in your body, rip out your heart, and place it in my trophy chamber. My legacy tells me the Gluttonous Ogre’s heart can survive on its own—it will be perfect for experimentation.”

“The second choice is submission.”

Garoth’s dragon claw pressed onto the ogre’s head, his voice deep: “Become my vassal, swear loyalty to me. When you have earned enough merit, I will grant you dragon veins, transforming you into a Dragon Vein Gluttonous Ogre. You will be able to devour more powerful prey, never starve again, and your clan will flourish under my dragon wings.”The way dragons subjugate their vassals boils down to four words—

Coercion and inducement.

Pure coercion leads to mutual destruction, a vow to die rather than submit.

Pure inducement causes sneers and disregard.

But when coercion and inducement combine... simple, direct, brutal, effective.

For monster clans in the wilderness, survival is paramount. Only intelligent beings in fertile lands or civilized nations care about dignity and freedom.

The Gluttonous Ogre gradually stopped struggling.

Under the threat of death, his anger-cooled mind finally realized he was no match for Garoth.

Even though Garoth had abandoned the aerial advantage and come to the ground,

He was still utterly helpless against him.

Seven rounds of bombardment and a brutal beating made the Bonegnaw Clan and the Gluttonous Ogre fully recognize Garoth’s strength.

Garoth released the no-longer resisting Gluttonous Ogre, quietly watching him for an answer.

The Gluttonous Ogre staggered to his feet, suddenly tearing a chunk of flesh from his body with sharp claws, then knelt on one knee, collapsing before Garoth.

With both hands, he offered the bloodied chunk of flesh to Garoth.

The Gluttonous Ogre gruffly said, “Please consume my flesh and blood, accept my loyalty.”

Offering one’s flesh and blood to a stronger is the oldest loyalty ritual among the ogre tribes. The Dragon Legacy also records this, and the Gluttonous Ogre’s flesh is not poisonous.

Garoth took the flesh, swallowed it down his throat.

Seeing this, the Gluttonous Ogre fully knelt before him and said, “My name is Karu, king of the Bonegnaw Clan. From now on, I submit under your dragon wings, becoming your vassal.”

With the chieftain’s submission, the other ogres ceased resisting. Without objection, the entire group knelt around Garoth and Karu, swearing loyalty.

“Very well, rise.”

“This will be the best choice you ever make in your life.”

Garoth said.

His inducement was no empty promise. Karu had good talent, worthy of dragon vein transformation, though not right now.

After swearing loyalty, hostility ceased.

The threatening aura from Garoth faded, and the atmosphere relaxed.

Karu scratched his head and couldn’t help drooling at Garoth.

After hesitating for a few seconds, he mustered courage and said, “Dragon Lord, may I taste your flavor?”

“I don’t ask for flesh and blood, um... you probably shed skin, right? Give me a piece of your claw skin or foot skin to try, and I’ll be satisfied.”

Karu’s mind was full of food; he spoke his inner thoughts frankly.

Garoth calmly replied, “No skin, but those explosive dragon scales you saw earlier—you can eat more of those, if you can stomach it.”

Karu shook his head repeatedly.

Those explosive scales were hard to digest.

Even with the Gluttonous Ogre talent, Karu still felt a fiery, burning pain in his stomach, a lingering effect from forcibly swallowing explosive scales earlier. His digestive system was somewhat damaged.

“Lizardfolk, gnolls, Graymane Werewolves.”

“How are those three monster clans currently? You must have clashed with them during your expansion.”

Garoth asked.

The Gluttonous Ogre thought for a moment and grinned: “Lizardfolk tails are delicious. We broke through their territory, killing most. The rest scattered to flee. Gnoll meat is a bit fishy; they run fast. When they saw our warriors approaching, they abandoned their land. We only caught a few. We didn’t encounter the Graymane Werewolves—they escaped early.”

Garoth asked again, “Did you occupy Crescent Valley and Howling Cliff?”

The Gluttonous Ogre shook his head: “Our numbers were limited. After eating the remaining food in those places, we left without occupying them.”

After some more questioning, Garoth roughly understood the situation.

The ogre clan’s expansion was mainly a savage raid and hunting spree due to their limited numbers, aiming to acquire more food without the intention to occupy other clans’ territories.

Faced with their first wave of attacks, the gnolls and Graymane Werewolves fled.

But given the gnolls’ cunning and the Graymane Werewolves’ attachment to their lands, they would later scout their territories. If they found the ogres hadn’t taken over, they would likely return.

Roaming and resettling in the wilderness was too risky.

Then there was the condition of the Serpentine Earth Rift.

According to the Gluttonous Ogre, in the beginning, caravans occasionally came by, ‘delivering’ them plenty of food, but later these visits became increasingly rare.

Garoth could easily guess why.

Because of the ogres’ reckless and unplanned plundering, the Serpentine Earth Rift was labeled a high-risk route, so fewer caravans traveled there.

Not only that.

Perhaps troops were monitoring the Serpentine Earth Rift, adding potential danger.

Thinking of this, Garoth felt troubled and wanted to beat the Gluttonous Ogre again.

Their mindless expansion disrupted his plans to establish stable channels for obtaining black oil.

But fate is unpredictable. Variables and accidents can occur at any moment. The world does not revolve around Garoth. Six years is enough to change many things, and nothing is guaranteed to go smoothly.

At this point, Garoth would find other solutions.

If problems arise, solve them. No need to be bothered.

“If the gnolls and Graymane Werewolves are still around, Howling Cliff maybe not, but Crescent Valley should have accumulated some black oil in the past few months.”

He thought silently.

Glancing around, Garoth saw the scorched earth, a mess caused by his bombardment. Then he withdrew his gaze and said to Karu, the Gluttonous Ogre, “Rest and adjust with your clan. I will return soon.”

After a pause, he added, “No more plundering trade routes during this time, wait for my orders.”

After instructing the Bonegnaw Clan on some matters,

Garoth soared into the sky, cutting through the night, heading toward Crescent Valley.

He hadn’t tasted black oil for over six years. He missed the flavor deeply and hoped some still remained in Crescent Valley.
