Defeating the World with the Power of One Dragon!

Chapter 33: Ice Damage

Chapter 33: Ice Damage

Garoth landed on the wasteland at the outskirts of the Iron Fir Hills. With the tip of his claw, he picked up the Frost Silver Ring. The ice crystal core embedded on the ring's surface emitted a faint blue glow. Even through his scales, he could feel a lingering chill.

He focused his gaze to look closely.

On the surface of the ring, he saw some dragon scale-like patterns.

Not only on the ring, but the necklace and the wing rings also bore similar dragon-scale patterns.

This meant they were very likely the work of dragon alchemists, and judging from the similar dragon pattern structures on them, they were probably crafted by the same dragon.

“Does that Brass Dragon have a parent who is an alchemy expert?”

“Having backing like that feels great. Unlike me, all alone, relying only on myself.”

Garoth shook his head, then pressed the ring against his tongue, imitating how the Brass Dragon used it.

Silvery white frost gas howled out from his mouth, quickly condensing a half-meter-thick layer of ice on a rock wall thirty meters away.

He extended his front claw and cautiously touched the dense ice mist that had not yet dissipated. The moment his claw penetrated, frost patterns immediately crawled across its surface, and the coldness spread along his claw to his dragon arm, forming ice crystals on each scale.

The chill seeped through the gaps between his scales, freezing Garoth’s skin and flesh, like countless ice needles stabbing back and forth, sending sharp stinging pain through him.

It was as if he had fallen into an ice hole—painful and numb at the same time.

“Just a gentle touch, yet this kind of ice damage suppresses me so much.”

Garoth frowned.

Basic elemental energy consisted of four main types.

Earth, water, wind, and fire.

Ice element, lightning element, radiation element, and so on were all variations derived from these basic elements.

In other words, ice damage was a subtype of water damage.

Because he had never had the chance to train specifically against it, Garoth’s resistance to it was that of a normal fire-based dragon’s weak resistance. Ice attacks on him could inflict double the suppression damage.

“How much water a bucket can hold depends on the shortest plank.”

“The existence of this short plank severely restricts my development, giving me an easily targeted weakness.”

“The category of ice damage is very broad. I need to adapt in advance.”

Garoth thought to himself.

Hot molten dragon blood rapidly flowed and circulated inside his body. The dark red patterns on his red iron young dragon scales gleamed with a magma-like luster, sizzling as they evaporated the frost attached to them into white steam.

Next, Garoth tested the Flowing Fire Wing Rings and the Watcher's Necklace one by one.

The Flowing Fire Wing Rings could amplify speed and cover his wings with a layer of flames, increasing fire damage, while the Watcher's Necklace was purely a defensive item, capable of withstanding Garoth’s full-strength strike.

“The wing rings are good. Their effect is similar to the tail ring. Maybe they can help stimulate my wings to adapt and evolve.”

After using the tail ring multiple times, even without activating the lightning amplification, Garoth still felt his tail tingling and numb, occasionally experiencing a sensation like an electric shock.

He guessed that the amplification and strengthening effects brought by alchemical tools would gradually be ‘recorded’ by his body and silently adapted and evolved in that direction.

Since there were no concrete evolutionary results yet, Garoth could not be sure now, but one thing was certain: these alchemical tools definitely stimulated his body’s adaptive evolution.

“The tail ring is lightning attribute, and aside from my Electric Fire Breath containing some lightning element, I have nothing else like it. The compatibility isn’t very high.”

“I am naturally fire-based. If my guess is correct, this wing ring might allow me to complete the adaptation and evolution of my dragon wings first.”

After clarifying the specific effects and strengths of the three alchemical tools, night deepened.

Two moons hung high in the night sky, casting bright moonlight.

Garoth put away the alchemical tools, stepped toward the rock wall with the thick ice layer still intact, and then slammed his claw down hard. Ice shards fluttered under his sharp claws, leaving several claw marks, but the ice did not shatter immediately.

“Hard enough. I like it.”

Garoth’s eyes brightened.

The hardness of ordinary rocky mountains was gradually failing to keep up with his training intensity.

The attack power conjured by the ring was very strong. The condensed ice layer was as hard as steel and exuded a chilling coldness, perfect for Garoth at this moment.

As for directly using the Frost Silver Ring to attack himself, that method was indeed more efficient, but with its attack power, it would cause serious harm and put Garoth in danger.

Without the protection of elders now, he had to consider the consequences before doing anything.

Next, Garoth kept striking or slapping the ice layer attached to the rock wall.

He was training his scale hardness and muscle strength while gradually adapting to ice damage.

This was a gradual process that could not be rushed, but as an immortal dragon, Garoth had plenty of time and was always very patient.

Each time his body was invaded by the chill, it felt like countless ice needles piercing inside, causing intense pain.

However, Garoth was long accustomed to the pain in his body. He did not feel uncomfortable because of it. Instead, he silently thought that this pain was proof of his gradual growth and evolution.

With this change of mindset, while feeling pain, a bit of pleasure also sprouted in his heart. The intertwining of pain and excitement became the key for Garoth to persist unremittingly.

Under the bright moonlight, the red iron young dragon trained his body alone, unnoticed.

Meanwhile, under the same moonlight in the sky, the Brass Dragon Deborah cried and flew north toward the Ser Wilderness.

The Ser Wilderness connected northward to the Permafrost Tundra, so the farther north she went, the lower the air temperature became.

Slowly, as dawn approached with the first light rising, Deborah arrived at the northern part of the wasteland where the air temperature was normal, with no heat sensation. She circled slightly in the sky, folded her wings, and dove down to land in a place surrounded by several mountain peaks.

Here, the air was neither cold nor hot.

The dense canopy of red maple trees stretched like a sea of fire. When the wind blew, the abundant branches and leaves swayed as if a blazing ocean of flames was burning on the ground. The scenery was gorgeous and beautiful.

Deep in the red maple forest, beside a stream, there stood a three-story small building.

It was made entirely of metal, decorated with some flowers and vines. The overall structure was exquisite and beautiful.

Outside, a human-looking man and woman, handsome and beautiful, were holding hands and leaning on each other as they walked along the stream, admiring the flowers and playing with the water. Smiles graced their faces, and when they looked into each other’s eyes, the tender affection and deep love almost dripped from their gaze.

Whoosh!

A strong gust of wind blew.

A nearly ten-meter-long young Brass Dragon circled overhead, its shadow covering the two.

But there was no fear on their faces. Instead, they waved at the Brass Dragon.

“Dad! Mom! I was robbed! The alchemical tools you gave me were all taken by a hateful hybrid dragon!”

The Brass Dragon Deborah landed in front of them and howled loudly, bursting into tears.
