Defeating the World with the Power of One Dragon!

Chapter 14: The Bear Horde

Chapter 14: The Bear Horde

Countless stars dotted the night sky, which was draped like a black velvet cloth.

The red iron young dragon stood on a towering, rugged cliff, turning back to gaze, his eyes slowly sweeping over the entire Sky Pit Territory below.

Especially the area beneath this cliff, filled with pits of varying depths and uneven ground, carrying almost all of Garoth’s memories from his hatchling days.

“There’s no turning back now; I have to rely entirely on myself.”

Garoth glanced at the two moons in the sky and the magical satellites mixed indistinguishably among the real stars, his mood growing slightly heavy.

The magic level on planet Bernardo was particularly advanced, especially in the alchemy that used magic to create objects.

The numerous wild monsters and ferocious beasts in the wilderness were secondary; the real danger lay in kingdoms formed by intelligent beings.

“Arrogance, pride, greed.”

“These are the innate natures of dragons that most easily cause hatchlings to perish prematurely. I must always be vigilant and never careless.”

Young dragons that leave the nest only have two possible endings—becoming a new natural disaster or turning into nourishment for the wilderness. Garoth naturally did not want to become nourishment, but he had no interest in becoming a natural disaster either. His goal was simple.

—Survive, for as long as possible.

Only after dying once could one truly appreciate the preciousness of life. Garoth cherished his dragon life deeply, so once he realized the dangers of this world, he persevered in training and strengthening himself relentlessly.

“Hahaha, I will establish my own dynasty! Let countless creatures bow beneath my wings, groveling before me!”

Samantha shouted loudly into the night wind, interrupting Garoth’s thoughts.

This six-year-old young dragon was covered in fiery red scales that burned like flames in the night, brilliantly vivid and full of lively vigor.

But such scale colors were actually not suited for survival.

Too conspicuous.

Garoth, covered in a layer of black-gray buffer scales that nearly merged with the darkness at night, was far better at hiding and sneaking.

As for the iron dragon younger brother Gordon,

his black scales were somewhat better, but because they shimmered with silver flashes, he was still somewhat noticeable.

Moreover, the iron dragon brother was even louder than the red dragon sister.

“I want to build a dragon-ruled kingdom, then rule all dragons myself.”

He stomped his claws onto a protruding rock, raising his head to proclaim his declaration to the world.

Garoth was calm and composed, not one to make a fuss.

Looking at the two young dragons, after a moment’s thought, he said, “Samantha, Gordon, you two survive alongside me.”

Having two young dragons under his command, banding together for warmth, would increase their chances of survival.

Moreover, Garoth held a respectful wariness toward the perilous wilderness. A year of exploration had made him more familiar with the surrounding conditions.

With him leading, the odds of the two young dragons surviving were higher.

Following Garoth was actually a win-win for them.

Unfortunately, the two young dragons did not see it that way.

“No!”

The red dragon sister snorted, sparks flying from her nostrils, disdainfully saying, “I am a red dragon destined to stand at the pinnacle of the world, the head of the Five-colored Evil Dragons. I can become the ruler of the wilderness on my own; I don’t need to follow you.”

The iron dragon brother shook his head as well.

“I’m going to the wealthy south. I heard the humans there have teeth embedded with jewels.”

When he mentioned jewel teeth, he did not hide his greedy desire at all.

Upon hearing this, Garoth said no more and lightly shook his head.

Just like when the two little dragons hatched, he had given them a choice again, and they had answered.

Fate and dragon life were made up of countless different choices.

Garoth did not force the two young dragons to follow him. If their hearts were unwilling, forcing them would only cause trouble given their temperaments.

But he still gave them one last chance.

Looking at the two young dragons calmly, Garoth said slowly, “If you change your foolish minds and want to seek my protection, you can go northwest, about ninety kilometers from here, to the hills.”

“There grows a dense forest of iron firs, easy to recognize.”

“If I am still in those hills, I might take you in. Of course, on the condition that you are prepared to be slaves and servants, unconditionally obeying me.”

After saying this, Garoth no longer lingered. His gaze withdrew from the Sky Pit Territory and headed toward the hills where he had once tamed the Earth Rampage Bear.

“Damn you, Garoth, you’re too arrogant, completely looking down on us.”

“Just wait, sooner or later we’ll make you see us in a new light!”

“Even if we die, eaten by ferocious beasts and monsters, we won’t beg you!”

Under the moonlight, the dark golden tail ring was coated with a pure radiance. Behind Garoth came the shouts of the dragon brother and sister, but their noise was soon swallowed by the wilderness wind.

Two weeks later, in the iron fir hills.

This place was not large, with limited resources, not a good habitat, but Garoth had no better place for now and temporarily settled there.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The Earth Rampage Bear’s massive paws, wrapped in thick, hard rocks, struck the dragon’s body repeatedly.

Garoth endured the heavy blows from the Earth Rampage Bear, his body trembling lightly, buffer scales flying wildly, finally revealing the black base with red-striped scales, which then began to crack and dent.

But just as the cracks spread and the scales slightly collapsed,

the Earth Rampage Bear stopped.

“Get up and continue.”

Garoth lifted his eyelids and complained with dissatisfaction.

The Earth Rampage Bear had just knocked off a layer of his buffer scales; now was the time to truly grind his physique.

“Roar, your scales are harder than steel. I really can’t hit anymore.”

The bear roared, sitting heavily on the ground, panting hard.

Its thick bear arms could barely lift, and the rocks attached to its paws were shattered by the buffer scales, revealing cracked, bleeding paws.

Garoth was not satisfied yet.

Although it was essentially impact, unlike the intense training of ramming mountains and the earth, from this period of experience, Garoth felt this kind of anti-strike method was more refined and the training effect was good.

Besides having the Earth Rampage Bear hit him with its paws,

he also had it attack him with quasi-spell skills to sharpen his corresponding resistances.

This process naturally was not comfortable; pain was inevitable.

The Earth Rampage Bear was a level 8 monster. Enduring its attacks, Garoth could not remain unscathed.

But perhaps because he had undergone so many similar trainings, Garoth had developed an extremely strong tolerance for pain. Moreover, while feeling pain, knowing it meant he was gradually adapting and evolving, he even felt somewhat excited.

“Quickly absorb the earth’s power and rest; we’ll continue later.”

Garoth allowed the bear a brief rest.

The Earth Rampage Bear looked miserable.

When it submitted to Garoth, it thought maybe Garoth was moody and liked to vent by beating his followers, but it was thick-skinned and tough, so as long as it didn’t die, it could slowly recover.

But what it hadn’t expected was the opposite.

Garoth had a strange hobby—he made the bear beat himself.

At first, the Earth Rampage Bear was excited about this.

But it quickly realized this was no easy task.

Every time it was exhausted, Garoth still wasn’t satisfied. Fortunately, the bear’s recovery was strong enough to barely endure.

No way, at this rate, my life level will drop from exhaustion.

While resting, the Earth Rampage Bear pondered deeply.

Suddenly, it had a bright idea and called out to Garoth, who was rubbing the iron fir trees with his tail.

“Dragon Lord!”

Dragon Lord—this was one of the respectful titles followers used for dragons, similar to “master.”

Just from the rubbing, the hard iron firs were sliced with countless deep cuts by the sharp dragon scales on the tail, as if cut by knives and axes.

Garoth spared the poor iron fir and turned to look at the Earth Rampage Bear.

The bear scratched its head and showed a cunning smile on its honest face.

“Hehe, you must want more Earth Rampage Bears as your followers.”

Under Garoth’s gaze, it explained in detail.

It turned out,

the Earth Rampage Bear Mobel came from a small group of rampage bears.

Its father was also the leader of the group; besides the rampage bear leader were several female bears and some ungrown cubs.

In some ways, the rampage bear’s habits resembled those of lion prides.

Males ruled, stronger than females, and could not tolerate other adult males in the same territory, driving away male offspring approaching maturity.

“You mean, take me to conquer your tribe?”

Garoth asked.

“Exactly! As long as you kill my father, I guarantee the other female rampage bears and cubs will submit to you.”

Mobel nodded heavily, pounding his chest in assurance.

This really was a case of a son smiling at his father’s death... Garoth thought to himself.
