Chapter 250 - 249: Dramatic pose

Chapter 250 - 249: Dramatic pose

The venue was glowing from inside out. Soft golden lights wrapped around the building, music drifting faintly from inside. But it was the outside that truly stole all the attention.

Luxury cars lined a special section near the entrance. Not just ordinary vehicles, machines polished to perfection. Sleek black sedans with tinted windows. Low, aggressive sports cars in different colors. SUVs that looked like they cost more than most houses.

The red carpet stretched from the grand doors outward, lit softly from both sides. A photographer stood waiting, adjusting his camera as students posed, laughed, and spun their dates playfully before heading inside.

Then another car pulled up.

The engine stopped smoothly. A guard stepped forward and opened the back door, like they’re royalties.

Laila stepped out first. Her red dress caught the light immediately. It wasn’t loud, but it was so damn impossible to ignore. The thin straps rested delicately on her shoulders, the fabric hugging her waist with perfection before falling elegantly to the ground. She moved with confidence, like she was used to eyes following her.

A small wave of whispers spread through the crowd.

Alaric stepped out after her, perfectly dressed in a sharp black suit. His jaw was tight, but his expression was calm. The guards closed the car door behind them.

Without hesitation, Laila slipped her hand into his arm, holding him close like they were lovers arriving at a gala.

Alaric didn’t protest. He simply let her do whatever she wanted, after all it all ends after prom.

She leaned closer and whispered something into his ear. He exhaled sharply through his nose, eyes narrowing slightly, but he still didn’t pull away.

Behind them, another car door opened.

Leo stepped out with effortless charm, Levi followed right after and they smiled at each other as Levi wrapped his arms around Leo’s waist.

He reached up, straightened Leo’s collar carefully, then leaned in and pressed a long, unhurried kiss to his lips.

A few students gasped.

The cameraman quickly turned toward them, snapping several shots as cheers and claps broke out around the entrance.

When they finally pulled apart, they couldn’t help but grin.

It was the first time they had openly displayed their relationship in front of everyone. And the best part? No one was judging them.

If anything, the energy around them felt supportive.

Felicia stepped out next with Armand, her blue dress hugged her perfect body, showing off her figure. She shook her head at Leo and Levi’s boldness, though she was smiling so hard her cheeks hurt.

Armand slid his hand to her waist and pulled her flush to his chest and her cheek flushed.

They all began walking toward the red carpet.

Nearby students couldn’t help whispering.

"Who’s that girl beside Alaric? Oh my God, she’s so beautiful."

"Don’t you know? She’s Eryx’s sister." another one said.

"Since his sister is here... does that mean he’s coming too?" the first girl said unable to hide her excitement.

"I hope he comes."

"And Athena too."

One girl tossed her hair lightly. "No, I don’t want unnecessary drama. We all know if she comes, all the attention is going to be on her."

"Don’t be like that," another replied. "She has never caused trouble for anyone."

"Whatever."

When it was their turn to take pictures, Alaric and Laila stepped onto the red carpet.

The photographer adjusted his camera and gave them a polite smile. "Alright, stand a little closer."

Before Alaric could even react, Laila already moved.

She turned toward him, hooked one hand on his strong arms, the other one resting on his chest. She angled her body just enough to make the pose look intimate but effortless.

Alaric stayed still, but not uncomfortable

Click. Flash.

"Beautiful," the photographer said. "Maybe one where you look at each other?"

Laila didn’t hesitate. She tilted her chin up and looked at Alaric like he was the only person there.

Alaric looked down at her, expression unreadable, but his eyes softened just a fraction.

Click. Flash.

"Maybe something playful?"

Laila stepped slightly in front of him, turning her back towards the camera showing off her low back dress. She reached up and adjusted his tie dramatically like she was fixing her man before an event.

Students nearby giggled.

Alaric sighed quietly but allowed it, his hand resting lightly at her waist to keep her steady.

Click.

Flash.

"Perfect."

Then Laila did something unexpected.

She turned her back towards him and leaned into him. She took both his hand and rested it on her stomach smiling for the camera as if they were sharing a secret. From the outside, it looked romantic.

Up close, she whispered, "Relax. You look like you’re attending a funeral."

His jaw tightened, but the corner of his mouth twitched despite himself.

Click. Flash.

That was the best shot. Because for a second, it didn’t look forced.

When it was Leo and Levi’s turn, they stepped onto the red carpet side by side.

Levi slid his arm around Leo’s waist confidently.

Leo leaned into him, one hand resting on Leo’s chest.

Flash.

Then Leo pulled Levi closer and turned him slightly so they were facing each other.

Levi smirked.

Leo tilted his head and kissed him.

The camera flashed several times.

Students cheered again.

They pulled apart slowly, still holding each other.

Levi moved behind Leo and wrapped both arms loosely around his waist, chin resting lightly on Leo’s shoulder. Leo crossed his arms and gave the camera a cocky half-smile.

Flash.

After several shots, they walked off the carpet like they owned the place.

When Felicia and Armand stepped onto the red carpet, the noise around them felt softer somehow.

Armand offered his hand. Felicia took it without hesitation.

He pulled into his arms, resting his hands on her waist. Hers gently wrapped around his neck as she tilted her head to him with a smile.

Flash.

Armand shifted her slightly, making them both face the camera but his hand stayed on her waist possessively.

Flash.

Felicia’s cheeks warmed slightly as Armand spinned her until she landed in his arms. She couldn’t help the smile that bloomed on her face as he smiled back at her.

The cameraman took several pics of the romantic pose.

Just then, a murmur rippled through the crowd.

A woman and a man were walking up the stairs toward the entrance. And every head turned towards them instantly.

The woman wore an elegant gown that flowed effortlessly as she moved, confidence in every step. Her smile was warm, almost mischievous, like she knew what everybody else doesn’t.
