Chapter 244 - 243: Prom

Chapter 244 - 243: Prom

"Okay Armand tell me which one to wear." Felicia whined with a pout as she held up two outfit.

Armand sat on couch in the room facing her with a conflicted look on his face. He wondered what he did to deserve this kind of torture.

He rub his temple as he felt an incoming head ache. His eyes flickered from the red free to the blue one. Both of them look gorgeous and it was so hard to pick.

Leo who was spraling on the bed with levi bursted into laughter when he saw the conflicted look on Armand’s face.

Armand glared at him. "don’t laugh."

Levi who had Leo’s leg on top of his head, the same leg he had pushed away for the hundredth time."You’ve been asking this same question since last week, Felicia," Levi said dryly, pushing Leo’s leg off his face again. "At this point, just wear both."

"I can’t wear both!" Felicia snapped, turning dramatically toward him. "This is prom. I need perfection."

Yeah... you must be wondering how we even got to this point. Alright. Let me satisfy your curiosity.

It started one weeks ago, when Leo of course dramatically declared that prom night was "too iconic" to prepare for at home.

According to him, getting ready separately, arriving separately, pretending not to panic separately was "tragic and anti-climactic."

So naturally, he suggested they rent an apartment. For vibes, bonding and yeah, main character energy.

Armand had immediately said no. Felicia had immediately said yes.

Levi had calculated the cost in under thirty seconds. Alaric had pretended not to care, but didn’t object.

And just like that, two days before prom, they rented a fully furnished apartment not far from the venue.

Armand groaned softly, rubbing his temple again as if the decision carried the weight of the world. "They’re both perfect," he muttered. "That’s the problem."

Felicia gasped. "That is not helpful."

Leo rolled onto his stomach, chin resting on his palms, eyes sparkling with mischief. "Pick the red. It’s seductive. It would definitely murder Armand." He said and Felicia laughed.

Armand shot him a look. "You are not helping either."

Levi sat up properly this time, smoothing his shirt. "Blue," he said calmly. "Red is loud. You’ll stand out without trying too hard."

Felicia pause and looked between the dresses again.

Armand’s eyes flickered to the red one, then to the blue and his jaw tightened slightly.

"Blue," he finally said, voice firmer now. "You don’t need to scream to be noticed. God I don’t know... the red one is sexy as hell."

Felicia studied his face for a second... then slowly smiled devilishly. "Should I wear the sexy one?"

"I don’t know" Armand muttered as he tugged her closer.

Leo burst into laughter again. "He looked like he was defusing a bomb."

Levi nodded. "One wrong answer and he was dead."

Alaric walked into the room with a bowl of ice cream in his hand, devouring it like a starved man. The cold treat dripped down the sides as he ignored the chaos around him: Felicia twirling between her two dress options, Armand clutching his head in frustration, Leo sprawled across the bed laughing, and Levi smirking from the corner.

"Seriously?" Leo managed between laughs. "Ice cream now? You could at least pretend to care about prom drama!"

Alaric didn’t look up, just shoveled another spoonful into his mouth. "I care... but this is more important." He gestured vaguely at the bowl.

"You don’t even have a date, Alaric?" Felicia asked, eyebrows raised as she paused mid-twirl.

Alaric swallowed a large spoonful of ice cream and shrugged, trying to play it cool. "Not exactly... but who says I need one to enjoy prom?" His tone was casual, but there was a faint edge to his voice, like he was guarding something.

Leo snorted from the bed. "Yeah, right. You’re just scared someone’s going to steal your spotlight."

Levi smirked, folding his arms. "Or maybe he’s waiting for the perfect person."

Alaric shot Levi a glance, a corner of his mouth twitching. "Maybe. Or maybe I’m just not desperate to be dragged into a disaster dressed in a tux."

Felicia rolled her eyes, muttering under her breath. "Typical Alaric. Always making it about himself."

Armand groaned again, releasing her hand to drag it over his face. "Can we please focus on the important thing? Like which dress will make Felicia stop crying?"

Alaric just finished the last bite of his ice cream, licking the bowl clean. "Fine, I’ll help. But only because I’m feeling generous."

Alaric set the empty bowl on the shelf and leaned against it, surveying Felicia and the two dresses like a general assessing a battlefield.

"Okay," he said slowly, "let me be honest. The red one? Firecracker. You’ll turn heads, no doubt. But it’s loud. Very loud. People will see you coming from a mile away."

Felicia gasped, spinning dramatically. "I think I like it loud."

Armand groaned again. "Felicia, please, just listen to him for once."

Alaric smirked. "Now, the blue one... quiet, controlled, elegant. Subtle, but impossible to ignore if you know how to carry it."

He shot Armand a glance. "Kind of like someone else I know..."

Leo doubled over with laughter from the bed. "Oh my god, he’s flirting with Armand again, I swear."

Levi shook his head, still smirking. " Alaric has been single for so long and he’s going for his brother now."

Alaric snort. "Atleast I already know what he’s capable of."

Felicia frowned, pouting. "So... which one do you actually want me to wear?"

Alaric leaned closer, tilting his head with mock seriousness. "Blue. You’ll thank me when everyone else is still staring at red and missing the real masterpiece."

Armand blinked, realizing he actually agreed with Alaric. "Blue," he muttered, almost to himself. "It’s... better."

Felicia’s pout softened into a reluctant smile. "Fine. Blue it is."

Leo clapped loudly. "Victory for logic and taste!"

Levi rolled his eyes, muttering, "Victory for Alaric’s ego, you mean."

Alaric grinned, brushing off imaginary dust. "Hey, someone’s gotta balance this circus before it explodes."

For a moment, the room buzzed with laughter and relief.

Felicia huffed in frustration, dropping both dresses on the floor. "Ugh! I wish Athena was here," she muttered, flopping onto the couch and plopping herself onto her boyfriend Armand’s leg without a second thought.

Armand wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her closer.

She leaning against him with a dramatic sigh. "I mean... she’s always so calm, so put together. And here I am, tearing my hair out over two dresses!"

Leo snorted from the bed. "Wow, even you admit she’s better than us? That’s saying something."

Alaric, who was still leaning against the shelf with his empty ice cream bowl in hand, raised an eyebrow at the scene. "Well, at least someone’s keeping it interesting," he said with a small smirk.

Felicia tilted her head toward him, her eyes sparkling. "Alaric, you don’t understand. Athena makes everything look effortless. And... I wish I could handle things like her."

Alaric’s gaze softened slightly, but he stayed silent, not wanting to reveal just how much he missed her too.

"Should we go swimming, guys?" Felicia asked, bouncing slightly on Armand’s leg.

Leo shot up from the bed, eyes sparkling. "Finally! Someone who understands how to have fun. I’m so in!"

Levi groaned, pushing himself off the bed. "God I’ve been waiting for someone to get me out of Leo’s mess all day. Thank almighty."

Armand glanced at Felicia, half-exasperated, half-amused. "Swimming? Here? Now? Really?"

Felicia leaned closer, teasing. "C’mon, babe. You love it." She gave him a playful nudge with her shoulder.

Alaric raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Swimming, huh? Should I take my chances with Leo cannonballing me into the pool?"

Leo grinned devilishly. "You know you want it!"

Felicia laughed and hopped off Armand’s leg. "Exactly! Let’s go. No excuses."

Armand groaned, running a hand through his hair. "Fine... but if I end up soaked and humiliated, I’m blaming all of you."

Levi just shook his head, muttering, "And somehow I feel like it’s going to be mostly you humiliating yourself, Armand."

The cool breeze ruffled their hair as they all stepped out, and the water sparkled invitingly.

Felicia ran ahead, dipping her toes in and squealing. "It’s perfect! Come on, everyone!"

Leo immediately ran toward the pool, grinning like a maniac. "First one in is a chicken!" Before anyone could react, he leapt into the water, curling into a perfect cannonball with a massive splash that drenched anyone standing too close.

Levi rolled his eyes but couldn’t hide the smirk as he shook off the droplets. "Of course you’d start with chaos."

Armand groaned, brushing water off his clothes, while Felicia laughed and dived in after Leo, sending up another wave. "I’m coming for you, Leo!"

Alaric stood back for a moment, hands on his hips, watching the madness unfold. "I see how it is. Everyone’s having fun except me."

Leo’s head popped up from the water, grinning wickedly. "Oh, you’re coming in, Alaric. Don’t think you’re safe from the cannonball!"

Alaric raised an eyebrow and shook his head, a small smirk tugging at his lips. "We’ll see about that..."

He stepped closer to the edge, ready to make his move, calculating just how he could enter the water without becoming Leo’s next target. He moved in splashing water on Levi and Armand who groaned.

Felicia splashed water toward Armand, enjoying his agony and the latter yelped and tried to dodge, only to stumble and fall into the pool. "Babe! Watch it!"

Levi bursted into laugter and dived in too.

The moment he did, he went straight for Leo and attack him.
