Chapter 239 - 238: Laila and Alaric

Chapter 239 - 238: Laila and Alaric

The group walked out of the school, the sun beating down their skin. Leo kicked a small stone along the pavement. "So... who actually did the General subject homework last night?"

Felicia rolled her eyes. "Ugh, I tried, but the teacher made it impossible. I’m convinced half of it was just to see us suffer."

Levi laughed. "Finally, someone admits it. I spent like two hours staring at page three wondering if I was losing my mind."

Alaric smirked. "You weren’t. Page three is a trap. I think the teacher just enjoys watching us squirm."

Armand, walking a few steps ahead, didn’t say anything, but a small smile tugged at his lips.

Leo glanced back at him. "Armand, did you actually do it?"

Armand shrugged. "I skimmed it. Enough to pass."

Levi groaned. "Of course. Of course you did."

Felicia nudged Armand playfully. "You’re ridiculous. Someone’s got to keep the rest of us sane."

Armand shook his head as he stared at her face, chuckling softly. "Not my problem."

Leo kicked the stone again, letting it roll ahead. "You know, one day we’re going to look back at all this and laugh... if we survive school."

Levi smirked. "Surviving school is one thing. Surviving your ’helpful’ advice is another."

The group bursted into laughter. Suddenly, a car pulled up in the distance, and not just any car. It was a Lamborghini. The engine purred like it was alive, Immediately, all conversation died.

Leo’s eyes went wide. "Is that... is that a Lambo?!"

Levi stopped mid‑walk, his jaw practically hitting the ground. "Bro... NO WAY. That’s literally worth more than some people’s net worth."

Felicia blinked twice, staring at the car’s gleaming paint job. "I’ve only seen pictures of these online. They’re so rare... and so pretty."

Alaric nodded, his hands in his pockets. "Yeah, it’s a Lamborghini. Everyone knows these are like the status car."

Leo practically buzzed with excitement. "Dude, imagine just driving this to school every day! I’d feel like a celebrity... like everybody’s eyes are going to be on me!"

Levi clinched an imaginary steering wheel, making engine noises. "Vrrrroooom! Yeah! I’d race home every day, then park it right in front of my house so everyone knows I’m rich!"

Felicia laughed. "You and your imaginary Lambo life."

Leo didn’t even care. "Shut up. That’s the flex."

Armand walked up beside them, smirking slightly. "It is impressive," he admitted, though he didn’t gush over it like the others.

Levi turned to him. "Admit it, Armand... you want at least one ride in this."

Armand raised a brow, unshaken. "I can get twenty of this if I want to. Don’t get me started."

The group made a ’woo’,clearly teasing him and he only smirked.

Suddenly the car engine made a loud sound.

"Wow..." Felicia breathed. "Even the sound is crazy."

"Yeah," Leo said, practically swooning. "That sound alone could make someone fall in love."

The group watched silently as the Lamborghini’s passenger door opened.

And Laila walked out of it confidently

Leo’s jaw dropped so low it looked like it might hit the ground. "D‑Dude... who is that girl? She has pretty legs though!"

"Bro! Did... did heaven just drop a goddess on earth?! Look at her... she’s—she’s... damn it, my brain just short-circuited!" Levi said with a smirk.

Felicia snorted, covering her mouth to hide a laugh. "Oh my God, you two are pathetic."

Levi nodded vigorously. "We should, no, must, bow. Or... or... salute her! Yeah, salute!"

Meanwhile, Armand raised an eyebrow and nudged Alaric. "That’s her. Eryx’s sister."

Alaric’s eyes followed the girl, then he nodded slowly. "Yeah... I see it now."

The others collectively gasped. "Eryx’s sister?!"

Even Leo and Levi froze for a second, blinking rapidly, as if suddenly realizing who she was. Then they muttered in unison: "Oh... oh wow..."

"Wait what? Eryx has a sister? How come I’m the only one who doesn’t know?" Leo exclaimed, shaking his head.

"Not only you, bro," Levi added, still staring in disbelief.

Laila confidently made her way toward them, her hoodie swaying slightly with each step. She raised a hand and gave them a casual wave. "Hi."

The group greeted her back, a mix of awe and curiosity in their voices.

She moved closer to Armand, tilting her head slightly. "Did you deliver my message?" she asked.

Armand smirked and gave a small nod. "Yes."

Felicia glanced away, jaw tightening, her eyes burning with a quiet jealousy.

"Thank you," Laila said softly, giving Armand a small, appreciative smile.

She turned to Alaric next, stretching out her hand confidently. "Hi, I’m Laila."

Alaric took her hand gently, nodding. "Hi... nice to meet you."

Leo and Levi exchanged another dumbfounded look, muttering under their breath, still trying to process that this was Eryx’s sister.

She held his gaze for a beat longer than necessary, letting a subtle, teasing spark linger in her eyes, making it clear she was deliberately getting his attention, Laila let go of Alaric’s hand but didn’t step back.

Instead, she tilted her head slightly, a teasing smirk playing on her lips. "So... I hear you’re good with solving problems," she said casually, voice light but deliberate. "Maybe you can help me with one."

Alaric blinked, caught off guard. "Uh... yeah, sure. I—" He cleared his throat, suddenly feeling more aware of her gaze than anything else.

Leo slapped his hand over his mouth to muffle his laugh. Meanwhile, Levi beside him didn’t spare him a glance as he tried to keep a straight face.

Alaric, finally finding his voice, stammered, "Well... I—I guess I’d be happy to help, whenever you... need."

Laila leaned slightly closer, letting her voice drop just a little. "Since you’re so good at solving problems... maybe you can help me with one over dinner?" Her eyes sparkled, teasing, as if daring him to refuse.

Alaric froze, caught completely off guard. "Uh... I, I don’t know... I have something to do with my brother, Armand..."

Armand, who had been leaning against the side, crossed his arms and shook his head. "No, no, I don’t have a problem. You can go."

Laila’s lips curved into a subtle, victorious smile directed at Armand, acknowledging his little acquiescence without breaking her charm.

Alaric turned to Armand, his eyes narrowing sharply into a glare that could have sliced through steel.

Armand raised an eyebrow, completely unbothered, and gave a faint shrug as he leaned to whisper into his ear."I trust your judgment. Don’t mess it up."

Alaric’s jaw clenched, torn between wanting to scold his brother and the pull of Laila’s mischievous grin. Laila, meanwhile, didn’t miss a beat, her playful smirk widened, clearly enjoying every second of the tension she’d created.

"So... dinner, then?" she said softly, letting the question hang in the air just long enough to make it impossible for him to brush off.

Alaric swallowed, feeling the heat rise to his cheeks, and nodded, still throwing Armand a sharp look. "Y-Yeah... dinner."

Leo and Levi, who had been silently watching nearby, couldn’t help but burst into laughter at Alaric’s misery. And Armand smirked as he looked at them.

Felicia, meanwhile just smile. The girl is kinda confident that she couldn’t help but admire her.

Alaric followed after Laila, trying to keep his composure, though his cheeks still burned slightly.

As he passed by his friends, he turned his head quickly and shot them a sharp middle finger.

Leo and Levi immediately doubled over. "Ohhh, look at him!" Leo shouted between laughs.

Felicia chuckled. "Dude... you’re so busted!"

Alaric groaned, running a hand through his hair, frustrated. "Shut up, all of you."

Meanwhile, Alaric could only grit his teeth and quicken his pace, trying to keep up with Laila without completely losing his dignity in front of the others.

When they got to the car, Laila reached out and opened the door for him.

Alaric raised a brow, a teasing smirk tugging at his lips. "Shouldn’t it be a guy doing that?"

Laila shrugged, grinning. "Maybe I like breaking traditions." She gave him a playful look.

Alaric shook his head, glancing toward the car. "My mom is going to kill me if she hears I’m the girl on the first date..." His words were half serious, half embarrassed.

Laila laughed, the sound light and teasing. "I like you. You’re... interesting."

He walked towards the car and held the door for her instead, and she slid into the passenger seat with a small, victorious smirk. "Can you drive?" she asked.

"Yes," he replied simply.

"Okay," she said, settling in comfortably, crossing one leg casually.

Alaric turned to the driver’s seat, but before climbing in, he shot Armand a sharp middle finger when the guy wouldn’t stop laughing. Armand just chuckled, shaking his head, clearly amused.

Alaric muttered under his breath, trying to mask his own grin, and finally slid into the driver’s seat.

At this point he’s sure Armand is taking revenge on him for something he did to him in the past.
