Chapter 211: Using the Secret
Chapter 211: Using the Secret
Jason Hawke’s chest heaved.
"So, you’re saying Damon Hawke isn’t truly a member of the Hawke Family! Then the one who should be head of the family definitely shouldn’t be him; it should be you! No, I need to get to the bottom of this!"
What is this!
Why should the vast estate of the Hawke Family be interfered with by an outsider!
He is the true descendant of the Hawke Family!
The family’s inheritance should rightfully be passed down to his branch!
"Dad, that was just my speculation. Besides, if it turns out to be true, it would be a scandal for the Hawke Family. Don’t act rashly, let me handle this!"
Cole Hawke quickly appeased Jason Hawke.
"What do you plan to do?"
Jason Hawke calmed down a bit and asked.
"Don’t worry, let me think. First, I need to find out if Vinny Hawke and Damon Hawke are truly mother and son. With concrete evidence, we can catch them off guard, right?"
Cole Hawke said.
Jason Hawke’s emotions settled.
"True, given the situation, there’s no need to secretly go for Damon’s position because it rightfully belongs to you anyway. Let Damon continue to work for us, and then we can reveal the evidence at the right time."
Cole nodded, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Who would’ve thought the two elders of the Hawke Family would harbor such a huge secret.
It’s truly shocking!
If one day, he used this secret to his advantage, what would happen?
Apartment.
Vinny Hawke finished the noodles Andrew King had cooked, took the napkin he handed over, and wiped her mouth.
Andrew King looked at Vinny Hawke, unable to hide the warmth in his eyes.
Vinny tossed the napkin aside, glanced at him, and got up with a cold expression.
"You can leave now."
Her attitude towards him had always been like this, Andrew King was used to it.
"Manny, since that girl is the child’s biological mother, why not let Little Damon have his way and stop sulking?"
Vinny threw a tantrum every time because of Damon Hawke.
And he already knew why Vinny was so out of sorts tonight.
He never expected that not only did they have a son, but they also had two grandchildren.
This orphan, with no parents, would one day be surrounded by a large family in his old age!
He was so grateful to the woman who brought him such good fortune!
"What do you know? That Elara Don is just a commoner without family background, totally useless to Little Damon’s career. You want to help them? What’s your real intention?"
Vinny glared at Andrew King and scolded him.
Andrew King kept his smile, reached out, and wrapped an arm around her shoulder.
"Manny, Little Damon is grown-up now, you should trust his abilities. He can achieve great things without anyone’s help."
Hearing this, Vinny forcefully broke free from him.
"You think building a career is that easy? The reason I want him to marry a girl with a good family background is for his future’s sake. You know he isn’t a true descendant of the Hawke Family. If anything ever happens, having influential in-laws would be better."
Upon hearing this, Andrew King fell silent for a moment.
He understood Vinny’s worries.
After all, a lie can’t be maintained forever.
One day, someone might uncover this secret and expose it to the world.
By then, Damon Hawke would lose all his current status.
He would no longer be the head of the Hawke Family.
But...
"Manny, he still has me. No matter what, right now, he has led the Netherworld Organization to prominence; his abilities are clear enough!"
He used the title of master to keep his biological son nearby, nurturing him since childhood.
Hard work finally paid off, and his son became a man of great strength.
"With you around? Andrew King, you seem very proud, playing the big boss here?"
Vinny glared at Andrew King, "Don’t forget, you used to be a homeless drifter and rapist! If it weren’t for my parents giving you startup money, who knows if you’d still be sleeping under a bridge!"
Talking about this made Andrew King’s expression briefly darken.
It was the biggest stain in his life.
And naturally, the turning point of his fate.
Back then, he had been swindled to the point of having nothing, becoming a homeless man.
One night, while lying under a deserted bridge, someone suddenly grabbed him and took him to an abandoned warehouse, drugging him.
Vinny Hawke was also there then.
She had been kidnapped.
The person who kidnapped her was a high-ranking official once under Elder Hawthorne’s command.
For committing illegal acts, Elder Hawthorne had sent him to prison.
So, he harbored resentment, broke out of prison, kidnapped Elder Hawthorne’s cherished daughter, and planned to ruin her.
That man was a real psychopath.
He even thought of using a homeless man to ruin Vinny’s honor.
It was a provocation to Elder Hawthorne, the biggest punishment to him.
And, coincidentally, he became the culprit that destroyed Vinny’s chastity.
He had never been with a woman, and this was his first taste, ultimately addictive!
From that point on, Vinny, the delicate lady, was forever etched in his heart.
When people from Elder Hawthorne found Vinny later, to protect her reputation, they didn’t make it public.
Instead, they gave him a good beating but also a sum of money, asking him to disappear forever.
Of course, he wouldn’t publicize it; he would never have done such a mad act without the drugs.
Since then, he secretly vowed to live up to standard.
To secretly become Vinny’s guardian angel, to make up for the harm he did to her...
Andrew King plunged into memories.
Vinny watched him remain silent, feeling inexplicably frustrated by her earlier remarks.
"Andrew King, don’t blame me for harsh words, it was you who ruined my life."
She speaks recklessly in anger, but can’t he tolerate her words?
Andrew King snapped back to reality, looked at her intently, and sighed.
"Manny, no matter what you say or do to me, I will never blame you. It’s late now, get some rest, I should go."
How could he ever blame her?
He only wishes for her endless happiness.
The man’s thin frame opened the door and left.
Vinny stood quietly, feeling the solitude of the room, and an unexplained blockage in her heart.
"Just left like that? Old fool, couldn’t he stay with her a bit longer?"
She was just saying that, hasn’t he gotten used to it over the years?
Perhaps, he’s fed up?
He no longer wants to endure silence!
The thought of no one ever caring about her again made her heart even more blocked!
The phone’s ringtone interrupted, forcing Vinny to hold back her tears.
She moved to the sofa and picked up the phone from the coffee table.
It was a call from Evelyn Miles.
Probably looking to get some information.
Vinny sat down, sighed inwardly, and answered the call.
"Samantha, not asleep yet?"
"Vinny, I’m worried, so I’m sleepless. Did Elara Don really steal her son?"
