Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy

Chapter 201: Truly Invested in Leia Quinn

Chapter 201: Truly Invested in Leia Quinn

Elara Don thanked the lawyer, feeling much more confident.

If it ever came to the point where she had to face Damon Hawke in court, she would hire this lawyer to fight her case.

Indeed, having the top lawyer from Benjamin Harper’s agency team made all the difference.

"Elly, are you done?"

Evan Ford entered the reception room and inquired.

"Yes, I’m done, Evan. I’m really grateful to you."

Elara Don looked sincerely grateful.

Evan Ford waved his hand, "It’s just a small favor, no need to thank me."

Elara Don smiled faintly, looking at Evan Ford’s handsome face, feeling a bit apologetic, she said, "Evan, I also need to say sorry to you about the Hawke Corporation’s perfume endorsement. Maybe because of me, you didn’t get the endorsement."

Damon Hawke, that childish fool, mixing personal with business, it’s really over the line.

Evan Ford was taken aback, a flicker of understanding crossing his eyes.

"You mean, because Damon Hawke misunderstood our relationship, that’s why he didn’t let me be the spokesperson?"

Elara Don glanced at him, smiling awkwardly.

"That’s not the whole reason. Another part is that he thinks your image is too delicate."

She really couldn’t believe herself; only now did she think that she shouldn’t blacken his name.

And she still had to find excuses for him.

Utterly contemptible and disgraceful!

Evan Ford smiled softly, "Elly, I don’t lack endorsements. If President Hawke doesn’t want me as the spokesperson, it’s Hawke Corporation’s loss. So there’s no need for you to apologize to me."

The man was gentle and elegant, well-mannered, and carried a hint of domineering presence, which added to his masculine charm.

Elara Don laughed and flattered, "Evan, no wonder people call you the heartthrob. You’re truly the most charming male star I’ve ever seen."

Evan Ford looked at her smiling face, his eyes flickering slightly.

"Is that so? Then as the heartthrob, have I also set your heart on fire?"

"Haha, indeed! Evan, rest assured, I will be your most loyal fan, supporting you until you grow old."

The most loyal fan.

Evan Ford raised an eyebrow, silently curling his lips.

He didn’t lack fans.

What he lacked was a lover!

...

The Landers family’s old mansion.

Craig’s mother was sitting on the sofa, looking at Craig Landers beside her, "I heard from your brother that you have a girlfriend? When are you going to bring her over for your dad and me to meet?"

Upon hearing this, Craig Landers forked a piece of fruit and handed it to his mother.

"Sure, I’ll bring her over to meet you at a suitable time."

Upon hearing this, Craig’s mother smiled brightly.

"That’s good! Wayne, you’ve had endless gossip over the years, it’s time to settle down. Quickly, tell me, what kind of girl is she? Is she from a prominent family?"

Leia Quinn’s family background?

He seemed to not know much about her yet.

Craig Landers parted his lips, organizing his words, as Selena Taylor came over with tea.

"Mom, I know that girl; her name is Leia Quinn. She’s a psychological counselor, not really a socialite."

Upon hearing this, Craig’s mother’s brows furrowed, "A psychological counselor? Craig, how did you meet such a person? Did you go to see a psychologist?"

Craig Landers’ smile slightly faded, glancing at Selena.

"Mom, I met Cindy through a friend; she’s excellent, and you’ll definitely like her when you meet her."

He had had psychological issues, but his parents were unaware.

He didn’t want to worry his parents, so he sought a psychologist abroad.

So he and Leia Quinn were fated in a way.

"But Craig, our family is quite reputable, you cannot marry a girl with no significant family background."

Craig’s mother reminded him.

Craig Landers grew somewhat impatient.

He stood up, "Mom, I’m going out for some fresh air; I’ll be back to eat when my brother returns."

"Oh, you child."

Craig’s mother knew his personality was a bit arrogant and unruly, complaining a little.

Selena Taylor watched Craig Landers’ tall silhouette, her eyes shimmering.

"Mom, I’ll go talk to him."

"Mm, Selena, you’re Wayne’s sister-in-law, talk to him carefully. Marriage is no joke. You young people might be able to relate better."

Craig’s mother patted Selena’s hand and said.

Selena smiled, suppressing the thoughts in her heart, she stood up and followed him out.

Outside, Craig Landers walked to the flowers and plants, lighting a cigarette for himself.

Amidst the swirling smoke, his handsome face appeared blurred.

Selena walked up behind him, looking at his tall figure, a look of obsession flickered in her eyes.

This was the man she loved the most.

But why did he end up becoming her brother-in-law?

And now he had another girlfriend.

Why couldn’t he stay single for her?

She was really unwilling!

All because of Leia Quinn, that vixen!

Hay Zephr was really useless; why didn’t he manage to get rid of her!

A trace of distortion flashed across Selena’s face.

Just then, Craig Landers turned around and saw the twisted expression on her face.

Immediately, deep intensity settled in his eyes.

"Wayne."

Seeing Craig turn, Selena quickly wiped her expression and called out gently.

Craig Landers looked at her deeply, threw away the half cigarette in his hand, and ground it underfoot.

As if extinguishing the last ember in his heart.

"Was it you who called Hay Zephr, telling him where Leia Quinn was?"

Craig Landers asked directly, no nonsense.

Selena’s face stiffened, her eyes flickering.

"Wayne, what are you talking about? Who is Hay Zephr? I don’t know him."

Had he found out so quickly?

He was really concerned about Leia Quinn!

"Stop pretending, sister-in-law. If you don’t know Hay Zephr, then explain why his call records have your phone number?"

Craig Landers asked plainly.

Selena choked, looked at Craig’s expressionless handsome face, and took a deep breath.

"Yes, I called Hay Zephr. His brother Cameron Hayes was my junior, and I heard about his suicide back then. I hate Leia Quinn; I hate that she captured your heart, so I looked into her. When I found out she counseled Cameron Hayes, I made the decision to have Hay Zephr teach her a lesson!"

The woman’s delicate face remained, but her tone was full of malice.

Craig Landers looked at her, suddenly feeling he didn’t know her at all.

"Teach her a lesson? Do you know Hay Zephr almost killed her? Sister-in-law, in my heart, you were always a pure, kind woman. How did you become like this?"

Was it because he was once blinded by love, that he romanticized her?

"How have I changed? Wayne, I just love you too much. I don’t want any other woman to occupy your heart; I don’t want you to have a girlfriend."

Selena sobbed, grabbing Craig Landers’ clothes.

Craig Landers broke free, "Sister-in-law, I call you sister-in-law because what was between us is long over."

"Wayne, you know I was forced to marry your brother. The one I’ve always loved is you! Didn’t you love me deeply too?"

Selena suddenly lost control, embraced him, then tiptoed to kiss his thin lips.
