Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1189: Hall of Twin Sovereignty (1)

Chapter 1189: Hall of Twin Sovereignty (1)

Far above the roaring starry rivers of the Star Ocean, within the innermost layer of the Starry Night Fort of the Zodiac Night Federation, was a hall called the Hall of Twin Sovereignty.

It was a place reserved only for meetings that could tilt the balance of the Star Ocean, and tonight, the hall has again come alive.

Its ceiling of crystallized starlight shimmered as a trapped galaxy, vast pillars carved from mysterious starstone rose like frozen constellations, each engraved with ancient oceanic sigils that pulsed faintly with restrained power.

The floor was a mirror of black cosmic glass, reflecting every figure present as though duplicating their clones into the void beneath.

But unlike ordinary gatherings of the Zodiac Night Federation, the atmosphere tonight was divided as the hall was split perfectly in half.

On one side, thrones forged from black meteorite and dark-gold veins were arranged for the important guests of the Zodiac Night Federation!

On the other hand, seven seats, sculpted from luminous coral crystal and star-silver, and emanating a faint oceanic brilliance, were filled by the highest-ranking members of the Zodiac Night Federation.

At the center of the hall, one elevated seat could be seen, clearly meant for someone of even higher status than all the people present.

At this moment, five figures sat upon the meteorite thrones.

The first was a towering corpse-like monarch. His flesh bore a pale green-gray tint, veins dark as necrotic roots running beneath cracked skin. His eyes glowed with dim corpse-light, and faint miasma leaked from between his lips each time he breathed.

Yet his aura was steady, disciplined, far removed from mindless decay, for this abomination was a rare variant of the Dark Beings, a Zombie King!

Beside him perched a lean humanoid with sharp avian features. Bronze-gold feathers traced along his arms and temples, his pupils vertical and predatory. Though clad in regal black armor, faint falcon wings of condensed magic flickered behind him whenever his killing intent stirred.

The third was short but immensely broad; a dwarf whose beard was braided with black-metal rings etched in ancient script. His arms were like forged pillars, veins bulging with contained power, a heavy Warhammer resting casually across his lap as if it weighed nothing.

Next sat a tall, slender night elf; skin dark as twilight, long silver hair cascading down her back, ears elongated and adorned with crescent-shaped obsidian ornaments. Her crimson eyes remained half-lidded, but within them burned cold calculation.

The final figure, at the very edge, was the most unsettling. A man whose presence felt slightly unreal. His silhouette occasionally blurred at the edges, scales of faint violet sheen surfacing across his neck before fading again. His pupils were slitted, iridescent.

When he shifted slightly, the air distorted like heat over sand, and an illusory pair of vast wyvern wings flickered behind him. It was another exotic being of the Legendary Plains, the Illusion Wyvern, and probably the strongest of them all!

Opposite them sat seven figures.

At the center, on the elevated seat facing the Illusion Wyvern directly, was the Federation Master.

She appeared as a breathtaking woman in her early thirties, skin luminous like a moonlit pearl. Her long hair cascaded in deep sapphire waves, interwoven with faint strands of silver that shimmered like stardust caught in water. Her eyes were calm, deep ocean blue, but within them lay abyssal currents.

Her posture was relaxed, elegant, yet utterly unassailable, and her aura did not flare but simply existed, and that was enough.

Beside her, six Night Guardian Kings sat in disciplined composure.

Three of them bore faint crimson sigils upon their necks and wrists with subtle markings of the most dominant oceanic lineage within the Federation; the Demonic Siren Race.

Their beauty was sharp, their gazes steady, their movements refined with aristocratic lethality.

One of these three was a tall man with flowing scarlet-tinted hair and piercing aquamarine eyes. His aura carried both temptation and suffocation, like deep waters that lured starry ships before crushing them.

Another was a woman with pale lavender skin and faint bioluminescent patterns tracing along her collarbone. When she inhaled, the light pulsed softly, beautiful yet eerie.

The third sat slightly reclined, silver-white hair framing a face too symmetrical to be entirely human. His smile was thin, unreadable.

The remaining three Night Guardian Kings belonged to other ocean races.

One bore faint coral-like protrusions along his shoulders, his skin carrying a turquoise hue, eyes sharp like a predator lurking beneath reefs.

Another had hair that drifted weightlessly as if underwater, strands flowing without wind, pupils swirling like miniature whirlpools.

The last was broad-shouldered and stern, faint scale-like textures glinting along his forearms, his presence heavy like the pressure of the deepest trench.

Everyone present today in the hall was a legendary king, especially the Federation Master, who was here for the Illusion Wyvern.

Between the two sides stretched an invisible boundary, no barrier visible, yet no aura crossed it freely as the hall hummed faintly, starlight above shimmered, and dark mist below coiled.

No one spoke first because this was not merely a meeting; it was a weighing of intent, as if an evaluation of weakness.

At this moment, the Illusion Wyvern’s fingers tapped lightly against his throne while the Federation Master’s ocean-blue eyes did not blink as if in the stillness before two ancient predators.

At this moment, the Federation Master finally spoke, her voice was bewitching yet curt, "I’ve heard you five want to join my Federation?"

The Illusion Wyvern impassively nodded as he replied, clearly speaking for the other fours as well, "Indeed. The Legendary Plains haven’t been peaceful in recent years. Furthermore, among the three absolute factions, only your Federation remained intact, so we are willing to represent our respected organizations and join the Federation to return the peace to the lands."

The Federation Master couldn’t help but chuckle in derision, "Haha, you must be jesting, Illusionary Prince, I’ve heard you have already quashed the chaos within the Dark Kingdom and united it again under you, or at least whatever is left of it."

Her eyes then shifted towards the slender night elf, completely ignoring the emerging hostility within the Illusionary Price, and continued, "And, you, the Night Moon King, have done an excellent job at getting rid of the rebellion within the Bank..."

She then looked towards the dwarf, "Oh, and this goes without saying for you esteemed Hammer King, how easily you have managed to keep the Alchemy Guild from falling apart..."

The Federation Master and all the members of the Zodiac Night Federation present in this room know exactly who these five were; they were all in charge of the newly established leadership of the Three Absolute Factions.

Of course, except for the Zodiac Night Federation, because they were the only ones left with their entire forces intact among the three absolute factions!
