Chapter 745 – Holy Deer Clan?
Chapter 745 – Holy Deer Clan?
Moon Aiko followed the Evil Deer as they left the unfortunate junior behind them.
Of course other Holy Deer rescued him, but it would take a while to clear that poison, unfortunately.
And that was because that poison was a compound of multiple poisons, making it harder to clear than your usual poisons.
However, that didn't bother Moon Aiko since they would be able to gain quite a bit by making the antidote for that poison.
Moon Aiko looked around her once they arrived. The buildings were huge, but the main building is what attracted her attention. Well, if you can even call whatever that was a building.
You could say it was just a huge tree that had its insides carved out and you would not be wrong, or you could say that there were multiple trees joined together, which would also not be wrong.
Moon Aiko was curious how this whole building came to be, since she quite liked the aesthetics.
"I know you are curious, but we can't enter yet, he is still preparing himself, but for now you can look around." The Evil Deer looked around. It seemed like many Holy Deer left for that battle, so he should probably join them.
He turned around and went to battle, while that little Fox followed him.
...
The battlefield was less than kind, there were already corpses lying around, both Holy Deer and Earthen Elephants.
Most of them were Earthen Elephants since they were having trouble against the multiple elements, at least the younger generation.
When the Earthen Elephants got older and their Bloodlines deepened it was a different matter altogether.
The main reason being their superb control over earth which allowed them to control even mud and things of similar nature.
As such water was now less effective and there were not enough Holy Deer that could actually use lightning element.
"They are holding on well..." The Evil Deer murmured as he transformed again. If not for his mouth and thoughts he would be the most beautiful steed there was, but Moon Aiko believed she could fix that with her 'treatment'.
Moon Aiko hid in the shadows and slowly used her Witch Form to conceal herself completely. She was not really interested in this battle, but she was still looking forward to how this would turn out.
There were not too many Beasts around her that battled on this scale. Most Beasts had much bigger Beast Cores, which made them battle for dominance over which side can throw more shit at each other.
Of course there were also fancy techniques and that kind of thing, but those were not used often as it would leave them vulnerable.
The Earthen Elephants counted on their natural armour during all invasions, while the Holy Deer made sure to wet everything and zap them properly.
Moon Aiko didn't find this kind of battle entertaining, since once they encountered Extreme Elements, they would be hard-pressed to fight like this.
For example, Extreme Ice would nullify all water and fire and while it was weak against lightning, the Holy Deer wouldn't be able to enhance their output by simply making their enemies wet.
The Evil Deer stomped on top of a few Earthen Elephants, but it did little to no damage.
The other Holy Deer used their control over nature and water to lift the Earthen Elephants to prevent them from stomping around.
The Elders on both sides were also in stalemate, but that wouldn't last long.
While the Holy Deer were able to eliminate young Earthen Elephants, the Earthen Elephants were able to eliminate older Holy Deer.
This was a problem in this battle as the older ones were more powerful, but with the young ones they would be able to recover their losses.
Of course all the bodies were full of Treasures, so there were even some Holy Deer running around in Human Forms, trying to take all those corpses deeper into their territory.
The main reason for that was that they could use these materials immediately on the young Holy Deer, making them stronger in the process.
Another part was also to prevent the Earthen Elephants from retrieving their corpses and growing stronger.
Of course the Holy Deer in the Human Form were targeted by many, but as long as they had corpses to harvest, they would keep running around. They could earn them a lot of wealth and improve their standing in the Holy Deer Clan.
Outside Foxes, most Beast Clans were pretty savage, with no regard for their descendants and things like that.
Of course the Beast Sect tried to remedy that to the best of their abilities, but most Beast Clans didn't approve of their means, so their standing was not as solid as before.
Many wealthy Beast families were able to amass a lot of wealth over time, making them less likely to join the Beast Sect.
This caused some ripple effects when it came to the negotiations, but nothing a bit of brute strength couldn't solve.
The river that flowed through the forest was slowly dyed red. The Holy Deer were trying their best to clean it, but it was simply inevitable. The scale didn't allow them to care about such things too much.
Of course this would pollute the forest, but most Elders found that acceptable. After all, their families would be able to train their purification skills inside a safe space thanks to this war, which allowed them to raise their proficiency greatly.
"I wonder if the Holy Deer can even lose." Moon Aiko saw that there were many healers tending to the injured and giving them full recovery within a few moments.
"It's not impossible." Another Holy Deer landed next to Aiko, it seemed like the Evil Deer ordered this one to either guard her or keep their eyes on her.
"How would that be?" Moon Aiko didn't pay too much attention to him. He posed no threat and his intentions were also clean.
"That's because while we can heal the body, it's harder to heal the mind. We can repair bodies easily, but if your spirit crumbles there is no way we can heal you." The Holy Deer explained.
"So you are still good at prolonged battles, but once it comes to recovery of the mind you are lacking." Moon Aiko nodded her head slowly. This information was good to know, but of course she wouldn't share anything with these guys.
"En." The Holy Deer nodded his head. "Thanks to that we can defend against the numerous Beast Clans."
"But is that a good thing? Wouldn't you still lose if they gang up on you?" Moon Aiko could never truly grasp politics. They were so boring and unnecessary, if at least everyone strived to get better things would improve, but too many Beasts and Humans are too blind and greedy...
"That might be the case, but the other Beasts wouldn't easily reach an alliance." The Holy Deer chuckled. "There is no way they will allow their pride to be hurt by us."
"Pride..." Moon Aiko murmured. This was such a useless thing that Moon Aiko just wanted to forget this conversation.
"You will understand over time how insidious are the Humans... and Beast alike." The Holy Deer shook his head.
"I could see that, yeah. Especially from the 'welcoming' party." Moon Aiko threw a shade at them, but she never really wanted to address it to begin with.
The Earthen Elephants stomped their huge feet. The tremors reached all the way to her, making her shudder each time.
She couldn't adjust her senses against those tremors, making them quite dangerous.
"This is a monthly occurrence, so you don't have to mind it too much." The Holy Deer shook his head. The Foxes were squishy and nice. They were usually hand in hand with each other, but the same couldn't be applied to the Beasts.
Most of them would eat their own kin just to get stronger, so vicious Beasts were quite the common occurrence. Of course, most of them were dealt with by their respective families, since nobody could afford to leave those bastards around and be taken by the Human Cultivators.
It was pretty much a race against each other to see who could process more corpses.
"I wouldn't be able to get used to this even if I tried." Moon Aiko shook her head. She believed they were all stupid, but just how stupid could they be?
There is no way that they battled like this with no thoughts in their minds. Unfortunately, Dai Lu was not around, so she wouldn't be able to guess their thoughts.
"That's true. Foxes are pretty much pacifists against other races." The Holy Deer nodded his head.
"How did that madman even get everyone's approval?" Moon Aiko couldn't believe that the Evil Deer was so popular with others. There had to be something either wrong with their heads or the teaching of this place. 'Probably latter...'
Moon Aiko watched as the Earthen Elephants stomped their feet, while the Holy Deer were charging their attacks and restraining them.
The destruction was kept in check thanks to some kind of Arrays shielding most of the damage against them.
Of course, it was not perfect, the consumption was serious, but not serious enough that the Holy Deer wanted to risk their gardens being stomped by them.
Moon Aiko soon grew bored. Most Beasts were not as flashy as humans. It was mostly a battle of attrition and cooperation rather than fancy techniques.
"Shall I escort you?" The Holy Deer nudged the small Fox.
"I don't mind." Moon Aiko didn't really mind them tailing her, as long as they didn't tail her outside this place.
She didn't want to be pursued by Holy Deer while she was in the temporary settlement as that would be unsettling.
Moon Aiko returned to the village or whatever their base was and walked around. The tremors reached even here, but it was just barely noticeable. If you didn't know there was a grand battle somewhere far away from here, you would guess that this place was just that unique.
There were many Herbs on the nearby stalls, which piqued her curiosity. However, approaching those stalls was difficult as pretty much everyone was staring at her.
"Am I that odd?" Moon Aiko asked the Holy Deer that was escorting her.
"It's not about that. It's rare for other races to get invited here, so maybe they are startled?" The Holy Deer also didn't know what to think about this situation, but he was not really a thinking type. He would just share what he knew and keep things simple...
