Cultivation Struggles of a Lowly Fox

Chapter 618 – Moon blunder…

Chapter 618 – Moon blunder…

Yuxi abruptly stopped and bent backwards in order to dodge the sharp blade.

Wanshu was nearby and used her left leg to somewhat support Yuxi from falling to the ground.

However, the next second, a certain old Fox appeared next to Wanshu and kicked her.

“You are getting better at teamwork, but you worry too much about your partner. Have some faith in her.” The Grandmaster shook her head. She was honestly quite jealous whenever she checked their thoughts…

‘I hope Yuxi ate enough today, she didn’t seem rested. The beds are getting harder thanks to the old hag wringing us dry.’ Wanshu’s thoughts leaked.

‘That kick must’ve hurt. I will pester her with hugs and kisses later until she is alright.’ Yuxi’s thoughts leaked.

But this was not even the worst part…

‘I wonder what Aiko is doing? She is probably having a lot of fun somewhere.’ Yuxi’s thoughts leaked again.

‘I wonder what Aiko is doing… Last time it was something about Blood Fox being captured, so I wonder if those stampedes were her work…’ Wanshu’s thoughts leaked again, too. She was wondering if Aiko was alright alongside Yuxi.

“…” Dai Lu’s lips twitched. She couldn’t believe they had so much time that they were having so many useless thoughts.

But as a matter of fact, if Dai Lu didn’t use more strength than was allowed during the training, these two monsters wouldn’t be able to grow more.

Their insane growth was all thanks to Aiko constantly going on adventures, leaving them behind, thus making them upset.

Upset over the fact that they were not strong enough to come along with Aiko.

However, even as they were upset, they didn’t try to push their limits with Evolution.

The next stage would be the Human Body for everyone, and it felt like they were trying to avoid that.

Well, their theoretical combat was still growing, and their practical combat was nowhere near their limit, so Dai Lu didn’t try to push them for Evolution.

There would be an internal tournament for seats to get to the mainland.

While the Twins were candidates at first, thanks to the shitty Elders butting in, they were now outside of it and had to fight for it.

Seeing their zeal and prowess, Dai Lu was quite concerned about their opponents…

“Pick up your weapons.” However, she would not stop this training. There was simply something exhilarating about seeing them grow and grow… and grow.

Was it all thanks to Aiko’s eye for talent, or their thirst to follow their leader? It was hard to guess, and Dai Lu didn’t really care.

As long as they were willing to grow, she would not stop them.

“You seem upset.” Dai Lu chuckled.

“Shut up.” Mei pouted. “That brat didn’t return yet.”

“And it was all your fault, since you told her not to come back.” Dai Lu laughed. “She is not your average Fox. She doesn’t play ga- Well, maybe she does, but definitely not mind games. You have lost the moment you drove her away with your words.”

“I don’t want to hear it.” Mei shooed the Grandmaster away. She was still upset.

“Should I also mention that your overconfidence almost caused a disaster?” Dai Lu narrowed her eyes.

“How was I supposed to know they would be THAT stupid and crazy?!” Mei cried out. Sure, her work lessened, but she was still overworked.

“I understand that you don’t want to admit that Danji is now part of your family, but you will have to.” Dai Lu chuckled at her.

“You are still making fun of me.” Mei glared at her. She was definitely not in the mood for these games!

“Of course. It was almost self-inflicted.” Dai Lu shook her head.

“And you would want a Harem?” Mei glared at her.

“No.” Dai Lu laughed heartily. “But I would also not be against it given the circumstances.”

“Ugh…” Mei still didn’t want to cave in.

“Ummmm…” Yuxi tapped Mei’s shoulder, while Wanshu tapped Dai Lu’s.

“What is it?” Mei growled at them.

“Moon?” Yuxi pointed towards the sky. “And it’s coming closer…”

Mei and Dai Lu looked up, only to see the Moon.

“What’s wrong with that Moon?” Mei didn’t find any irregularity, but that was only because she was too angry.

“Hold on…” Dai Lu’s eyes nervously twitched. “Is… is that Moon coming closer…?”

“…” Everyone fell silent, looking at the Moon that was approaching.

“Dammit! What kind of lunatic-” Dai Lu cursed out loudly.

“RUN!” Mei shouted as she dashed away from the Moon, and the Twins followed her.

BOOOOOM

The Moon impacted with part of the Grandmaster’s Abode. Fortunately, it missed any buildings or anything precious… for the time being.

The Moon didn’t stop with the impact and slowly tilted to the side before rolling down.

Rumble Rumble

Thump Thump

The earth shook as the Moon rolled down the hill, taking anything and everything with it…

---

{A bit before the disaster}

Witch Aiko nodded her head slowly. This place was almost ready, but there were a few issues.

‘The sky is covered with thick clouds, so there is no Moon to shine on this place!’ Witch Aiko paused. This was not an issue, though, since Moon Aiko would be able to put a nice Moon into the clouds, making for quite the picturesque sky!

Witch Aiko turned into Moon Aiko and slowly blinked her cold, yet mesmerising eyes.

‘A lot of work…’ Moon Aiko sighed softly. ‘But one that has to be done.’

Moon Aiko lifted her hand gently. Thanks to the [Devouring Sun & Blooming Moon Fox Incarnate], it was not too difficult to put a full Moon into the sky, but there were some limitations.

Considering the distance, it couldn’t be an illusion, since it would be too costly. That leaves defensive ability [Moon’s Crust], but even that is not enough, as it would take too much energy to keep it high in the sky.

[Full Moon] would be possible, but the clouds would cover it again, so there was no need to think about that one since it would cost too much.

Eventually, Moon Aiko figured out she could just slap the Hollow Moon into the Sky and let it hover there.

She could use some chains to keep it from falling, but Moon Aiko was confident with her-

“Eh…?” Moon Aiko couldn’t feel the Hollow Moon the moment it touched something.

“Uh…” Moon Aiko tried to regain control over the Hollow Moon, but she could only watch it as it descended upon the barrier around the Grandmaster’s Abode.

BOOM

The Moon didn’t even pause as it shattered the barrier.

“…” Moon Aiko stared at it blankly.

A second tremor followed as the Moon finally impacted with the Earth.

“Phew.” A premature breath of relief. Moon Aiko believed it couldn’t get any worse than it already was, but…

Rumble Rumble

Thump Thump

“Shiiiiiiiiet.” Moon Aiko watched as the Moon rolled down the hill, taking everything with it and leaving complete havoc in its wake.

“Right…” Moon Aiko watched as the Moon finally impacted the bottom of the hill and slowly came to a stop. “Time to run away!”

Moon Aiko turned into Witch Aiko and quickly transformed into a Fox that dived into the shadows to hide.

She sneaked far away before anyone could locate her…

---

“…” The group silently watched the disaster that unfolded.

“DAMN A-” Mei wanted to yell from the top of her lungs, but Grandmaster shushed her.

“Why did you break the barrier?” The Head of the Delegation was flabbergasted, since he found the Moon that was supposed to be in the sky, down under the hill.

“YOU THINK ANY OF US HAVE THAT KIND OF ELEMENT, HUH? STUPID BASTARD!” Mei roared at him, both flustered and livid, making everyone who came to watch the scene even more flustered.

“…” The Head of the Delegation didn’t know what to say, since it was true none of them had any kind of ability that could form such a huge Moon, not to mention wreak so much havoc…

The Head of the Delegation coughed awkwardly. “We-” He wanted to say that they would put up another barrier, but he then noticed that the place was so wrecked that it would be impossible until they filled up that hole and everything caused by the Moon.

“…” Mei kept glaring at him, since that Moon almost gave her a heart attack. She really wanted to meet up with Aiko and properly scold her, but she also knew she couldn’t do that, since it might cause some issues. ‘I wish I could whack her right now.’

Mei’s livid expression impressed the Foxes from the Fox Village, while the Delegation was flustered and uneasy about how angry she was.

She was the most valuable seedling, so if something went wrong with the Jade Fox, they wouldn’t be able to explain it to the Fox Sect!

Not to mention, the Grandmaster was getting scarier and scarier each day, all thanks to those strange twin-like Foxes!

“We will set up some guards.” The Head of the Delegation, however, didn’t have enough people to guard them and prevent them from escaping.

‘Right, there is one useless, but obedient Fox.’ The Head of the Delegation nodded.

“You will guard them until we can completely fill that disaster.” The Head of the Delegation pointed at a certain gorgeous girl.

The gorgeous girl rolled her eyes, but when she noticed that faint, almost unnoticeable connection, she nodded back.

‘I wonder how they are connected.’ The girl thought about that strange Fox that cried inside the library.

Mei snorted unhappily, but it was not like she could prevent them from putting her here.

The girl descended and nodded towards them, and everyone dispersed.

The gorgeous girl didn’t say a word before setting up her bed and lying on the ground.

“???” The whole group had so many questions, but it seemed like this Fox from the Delegation was quite… defective.

“I don’t want to bother with work, so just conceal your steps when you want to go out, so that you won’t cause issues for me.” The girl dismissed their stupefied faces with a simple sentence before snuggling into her bedsheets.

Mei exchanged glances with Dai Lu.

Both of them were wondering why this Fox came with the Delegation, but it also might be possible that she didn’t have any other options.

Some branches of the Fox Sects were known for forcing Foxes into something they didn’t want to. Especially those that had to earn something from it…
