Chapter 141 - 133 On-Stage Boxing_2

Finally, it was all over, not because the round time had ended, but because he didn’t know when he had found himself lying on the ground.

"Hey, Coach Brandt, wake up!"

"Oh, am I still alive?"

Brandt opened his eyes groggily, and his arms were completely immobile.

"Sorry, I got carried away and didn’t notice your condition."

Li Ang said somewhat apologetically.

Although he hadn’t developed a new skill, this kind of training clearly increased all his skills and attributes very quickly.

After fighting two rounds with Brandt, Li Ang didn’t even have to say anything. The boxing team captain, who was just fuming with envy, had already started calling him captain.

It was a joke, Li Ang’s strength obviously surpassed Brandt’s by a level, and Brandt’s was another level above theirs. By this calculation, they didn’t even know how far behind Li Ang they were.

After gaining their full recognition, all kinds of communication became much easier.

Because they realized that this Asian wasn’t here to coast through, but they themselves seemed more like the ones who were coasting.

After understanding the competition rules, Li Ang found that overall they were quite standard.

The competition didn’t divide into as many detailed weight classes as official matches did; it was just roughly divided into lightweight, middleweight, and heavyweight divisions.

Each school sent out three athletes to compete in the three weight divisions.

But the matches were individual, meaning each person’s score was separate, and it was possible for a strong team to sweep all three championships in the end.

"Which of these three divisions has the highest profile, or the highest value?"

Li Ang asked, looking at them.

The former boxing team captain quickly answered:

"No need to think about it, heavyweight definitely attracts the most attention because it’s broader in range and so it has the most masters concentrated in this weight class. Typically, the team captain competes in this division."

"Then I’ll compete in the heavyweight division."

After listening, Li Ang made his choice without much hesitation.

"Ah?"

"Captain... I don’t mean anything by it, but looking at your physique, you seem to just meet the standard for middleweight. Participating in the heavyweight might put you at a disadvantage."

This former captain was not dissuading Li Ang because he was afraid Li Ang would take his spot in the competition.

In fact, if it wasn’t for his weight being here, and as captain, he needed to compete, he would’ve long since wanted to throw in the towel and quit.

Although his strength was the strongest among the school team members, within the heavyweight division, his strength was simply not sufficient.

Before this, he had participated in two competitions, and the outcomes were very unsightly, far from bringing honor to the school; it was more like bringing shame.

So he was genuinely considering Li Ang’s best interest, as Li Ang was the strongest of them, and winning the championship in the safest way would be seen as a success.

However, for Li Ang, it didn’t matter which division he participated in. After all, he was aiming for the championship, so naturally, he should go for the one with the highest value to avoid the school leaders nagging him later.

Although the other team members offered various suggestions, Li Ang didn’t listen to any of them. Since it was an individual match, it seemed that whether he had teammates didn’t matter.

The competition was a week away. If it were farther off, Li Ang could have spent time practicing with them, to see if they could improve their levels a bit more.

But with only a week, these improvements were almost impossible to achieve for them. It was more important to maintain a good competitive condition before the match.

"Alright, that’s decided then."

Li Ang finished speaking and didn’t mind the reactions of the others as he left with Teacher Sofia.

"It looks like you’ve really changed a lot."

It wasn’t until they were outside that Teacher Sofia finally exclaimed.

Others might not understand Li Ang well, but she had been his homeroom teacher for two years and was quite familiar with his previous circumstances.

Just before the summer break, Li Ang was categorized as the type of student who definitely wouldn’t get into a dispute with anyone at first glance.

Who would have thought that after a summer break, Li Ang could even defeat a fairly professional boxing coach easily in the ring?

Li Ang smiled but didn’t offer much of an explanation, since his situation simply couldn’t be explained using real-world conditions—the more he said, the more slip-ups there would be.

"Get in the car, my dear Teacher Sofia."

Li Ang stood at the front of the car, thoughtfully opening the door for her.

Teacher Sofia didn’t notice when she rode in Li Ang’s car last time while drunk, but now during the day and fully sober, she realized that Li Ang drove a two-door sports car.

Although she wasn’t familiar with different types of vehicles, that didn’t prevent her from making a rough estimate of the car’s price.

At this moment, her curiosity about Li Ang grew.

Because of the tests today, school ended earlier than usual; now, there were very few people left on campus. Otherwise, the story of Teacher Sofia getting into Li Ang’s car could have led to countless different rumors.

This time Li Ang chose a relatively high-end restaurant locally. Since he was the host, too cheap a place would seem rather inappropriate.

Teacher Sofia did not object this time. Even though she didn’t know where his money came from, judging by his car, he clearly could afford it.
