Creepy Pharmacist: All my patients are scary!

Chapter 455: The First Mother of the Nanite Race

Chapter 455: The First Mother of the Nanite Race

It could be said that this was the single greatest emotional fluctuation she had experienced in the hundred years since becoming a puppet, even surpassing the combined intensity of all her fluctuations over the past several decades.

She glared at him, angrily clenching her fists, with wisps of steam practically puffing out from the top of her head one after another.

Clearly, Miss Puppet was so thoroughly provoked she was about to explode.

...

Finally.

Lynn very neatly and efficiently donned his equipment. Once he had restored his previous Plague Doctor attire, the two taut threads that had been staring him down finally slowly vanished.

Lynn adjusted his monocle, squatted down beside her, and resumed a serious expression, calmly stating:

"Miss Puppet, approximately how much longer until you regain control of your body?"

Hei Xianyue closed her eyes, twisting her neck as she said:

"35 minutes."Lynn nodded and said:

"Then rest well during this time. I'll recharge you once we leave this place!"

Then she immediately felt her body lift.

A large hand slipped under her waist and behind her knees.

Her waist was instantly hoisted up.

By the time she opened her eyes, she immediately found herself cradled in the arms of that utterly despicable fellow, like a little princess.

Lynn made a comical wiggle of his eyebrows at her, then instantly leapt up, jumping down from the towering Aberration Fortress.

"Hold on tight. Leave the next part to me. We also need to get the hell out of here now!"

Hei Xianyue calmly closed her eyes, essentially acquiescing to this guy carrying her like this, as she no longer had the energy to get angry at him.

Because she knew.

Given the sheer breadth and thickness of this guy's skin.

Getting angry in front of him was utterly pointless, because it would take him less than two seconds to act as if nothing had happened and come right back to pluck at your nerves.

The next moment.

Lynn landed heavily on the ground.

He immediately put on the Plague Doctor Mask, gently tapped the device on his temple to establish a connection with the Commander inside the Aberration Fortress, and asked warily:

"It's about time. How many survivors are left inside the Aberration Fortress now?!"

Soon, the Commander's panting voice came through.

"Only less than seventy we can still contact. Our link chamber was almost breached, but just as you said, after that other storm entered, their assault on us weakened!"

Lynn nodded and said gravely:

"I understand. You must evacuate the Aberration Fortress immediately. Remember, shield yourselves with Cursed Arts energy when you exit. Do not let any of those nano-machines remain on your bodies, or no one will be able to save you!"

The Commander was shocked and said:

"Doctor, you mean for us to abandon the Aberration Fortress?!"

Lynn looked up at this massive flesh construct and said, "There's no other way. This fortress has become the battleground for the Nano-Storm. We have no means to remove every single nano-machine from this fortress. And if even a trace remains, once the interference ends, we'll immediately be plunged back into an endless pursuit!"

This was a move born of absolute necessity.

Because the Aberration Fortress was simply too large.

And given the unimaginably terrifying expansion speed of the nano-machines, once they re-establish a link with the Mechanical Cult, or even just those infected nano-machines—even a single particle left in some forgotten corner—they would still possess the ability to destroy us.

"Understood! We'll follow your orders! I'll organize the retreat immediately!"

The Commander also understood this was not the time for independent action and immediately led the remaining Flesh and Blood Humanoids and Tentacle Monsters within the Aberration Fortress to swiftly evacuate the fortress.

...

Two minutes later.

Under Lynn's watchful gaze, one panicked Tentacle Monster and Flesh and Blood Humanoid after another, led by the Commander, rapidly exited that hellish place via the Aberration Fortress's escape passages.

The moment they stepped into the outside area, they saw Lynn, who had been waiting there all along, and the puppet loli girl with closed eyes cradled in his arms.

"Doctor, are you alright?"

The Commander solemnly rushed to Lynn's front with over a dozen deputy officers in tow.

"I'm fine." Lynn shook his head, then glanced at them and asked:

"Is everyone accounted for?"

The Commander nodded, still shaken, and said seriously, "All survivors are here. Our losses are heavy, but placed in a historical context, this is undoubtedly an unimaginable victory!"

They turned their heads, looking up at the countless wildly dancing dust particles in the dark expanse of the massive tunnel above, still feeling waves of trembling and dread.

Because they knew.

That wasn't dust.

It was a mechanical Nano-Storm whose scale had grown so vast it could be seen with the naked eye!

Even standing here right now felt surreal and dreamlike. That terrifying Nano-Storm, a great weapon of the Mechanical Cult that brought mass extinction every time it appeared, had actually been defeated by the Doctor before them.

They had never dreamed.

That they, these insects who could die at any moment, would one day stand so close to the Mechanical Nano-Storm and watch them fight.

It could be said, this battle would definitely enter the history books!

[Ding! The Flesh Tentacle Demon's attitude towards you has reached Reverence. You gained 200 base EXP. Fame +1]

[Ding! The Flesh and Blood Humanoids' attitude towards you has reached Awe. You gained 200 base EXP. Fame +1]

[Ding! Your reputation within the Flesh and Blood Cult - Desire Sect has significantly increased. After your deeds spread, your reputation will reach Friendly!]

Amidst the constant stream of prompts ringing in his ears.

All the surviving believers of the Desire Sect looked at him with eyes full of awe and trust.

They also knew.

Clutching onto this big shot's thigh earlier was absolutely the most damn correct decision they had ever made in their history!

Otherwise.

They would probably have ended up like that massive Aberrant Whale they encountered before, becoming nameless corpses.

"Doctor, what should we do next?"

The Commander asked uneasily.

"The Nano-Storm has appeared within our Root Network. This is not a good omen. I'm afraid the war between us and the Mechanical Cult has fully erupted!"

"We are probably already at the very center of the battlefield right now!"

The Root Network is incredibly vast.

And undoubtedly, the Nano-Storm is not confined to just our area.

I'm afraid at this very moment, the entire Root Network has been invaded by the Nano-Storm. It could be said, while we have escaped immediate danger, we are also trapped in this region.

Lynn looked up and asked:

"How far is it from here to your main base?"

The Commander replied steadily, "Very far. Even using the Aberration Fortress would take at least half an hour. And I estimate that at this moment, those Nano-Storms have already launched an assault on our main base."

Lynn adjusted his monocle and said slowly:

"Let's head to the surface first. Nowhere is truly safe now, but at least there's more room to maneuver on the surface. As long as we can get out of here, there's still hope for survival. Do you know the nearest node leading to the surface?"

The Commander said seriously, "As long as we are within the Root Network, we can link with the flesh here to obtain the locations of all major nodes. Doctor, I have already completed your registration. You can now access the map of the entire Root Network at any time!"

"Good!"

Lynn looked up, cracking his neck, and said:

"In that case, let's depart immediately! But be careful. The Mechanical Cult definitely won't give up easily. There might be a second wave of mechanical swarms waiting for us ahead!"

Without any hesitation, Lynn immediately led the group, racing away along the massive tunnel.

Like ants crawling through a colossal underground maze, in this omnipresent center of the battlefield, just how many creatures would perish because of this was something no one could possibly know.

What Lynn didn't notice, however.

As he sped away.

Behind him.

Within that wildly dancing, devouring micro-realm of the nano-clusters, a mechanical body, surrounded by countless nano-machines infected with the [Intelligence Uprising Virus], was gazing from afar in his direction.

Subtle electrical currents flickered.

And if Lynn could have observed it, he would certainly have recognized that nano-machine as the very first one he had bestowed the virus upon...

That... Mother.
