Not sure if it was Shi Che’s words from yesterday that had given her courage, but when Ling Chuxia opened her eyes in the morning and looked at the sunlight that came through the window, then at the handsome face beside her, her heart suddenly felt at ease.
Returning to Liang City would be fine—there was nothing to be afraid of.

Hesitant just yesterday, today she had already made up her mind. Shi Che’s gaze lazily swept across Ling Chuxia’s face. His thin lips parted slightly, "Sure?"
Ling Chuxia nodded, "Sure."
"No regrets?"
"No regrets!"
Shi Che’s lips curved into a gentle smile, his voice tender, "Okay, then let’s go back."

Leaving here was actually quite simple for Ling Chuxia; pack up some clothes, grab a suitcase, and she could leave in minutes. Originally, she had come with high hopes of finding her relatives, but there had been no news. Although it was regrettable, there was nothing she could do.
But before leaving, there was someone she must properly thank.
So, after finishing her resignation procedures at the company, Ling Chuxia immediately dialed Bai Yixuan’s number to invite him for dinner that night.
Her intention was to have dinner alone with Bai Yixuan to thank him for his care during this time and to properly say goodbye. Yet when Shi Che drove her to the restaurant and without any hesitation followed her out of the car and wrapped his arm around her waist, leading her towards the restaurant.
Ling Chuxia looked helplessly at Shi Che, "I was just going to say goodbye and thank Brother Xuan for taking care of me."
The reason she didn’t want Shi Che to come along was that she didn’t want Bai Yixuan to feel uncomfortable, as Shi Che quite clearly showed hostility towards Bai Yixuan.

When they arrived, Bai Yixuan was already there, seated by the window. The man’s features were handsome and he exuded a quiet gentleness. Seeing Shi Che and Ling Chuxia arrive together, a hint of dimness swept briefly across the bottom of his eyes but vanished in an instant.
He knew Ling Chuxia was leaving. Tonight, he had intended to spend these final moments alone with her, but now... It was pretty much what he had expected; Shi Che wouldn’t easily let her go. He had only harbored a sliver of hope.
As the two approached, Shi Che’s dark eyes briefly swept towards Bai Yixuan. His hand unconsciously tightened around Ling Chuxia, his posture possessive, before he slowly extended his hand, "President Bai, hello."
