Chapter 720: Chapter 719: The Childish Young Master Shi (3)

Shi Che had been staying in the hospital because Ling Chuxia had work the next day and refused to accompany him at night, no matter what. Unexpectedly, now that he was back, she still wanted to go back to her own apartment. How could this be acceptable?

Shi Che’s dark eyes narrowed slightly as he quickly reached out to grab Ling Chuxia’s wrist, slightly disgruntled, "Chuxia, my leg injury hasn’t healed yet. Do you really have the heart to leave me here alone?"

Ling Chuxia wasn’t swayed in the least, giving him a cool glance, "Just now, you clearly said that your leg injury was no big deal. So why has it suddenly ’not healed’ now?"

Ling Chuxia wasn’t actually unwilling to stay with him; it’s just that as his health improved, his bad temper had started to show. To be honest, she had indeed come to understand her own heart, but she always had some psychological shadows regarding ’that kind of thing’, especially considering that Shi Che’s body hadn’t fully recovered and vigorous activities weren’t suitable.

She felt that she still needed to keep some distance from Shi Che.

Shi Che, however, didn’t show the slightest embarrassment at being called out. Instead, he brazenly claimed, "No serious trouble doesn’t mean it’s completely healed. Haven’t you seen that I still need your support to walk? If you go, I probably won’t be able to walk from here to the bedroom."

His words immediately caused Ling Chuxia’s brows to furrow tightly, "I said you shouldn’t have been discharged from the hospital so quickly. Maybe you should go back and stay there."

Shi Che was most dissatisfied with her saying this and simply ignored her suggestion, changing the topic instead, "Anyway, you just live next door. What’s the difference from staying here? Just stay here then."

Moreover, the apartment next door belonged to Bai Yixuan, and he didn’t want Ling Chuxia to continue living there at all.

Ling Chuxia’s brows were tightly knotted with a slight hesitation. Shi Che, with the corner of his eye catching her expression, knew that Ling Chuxia was the kind to be coaxed, not forced, so he didn’t say anything more. Instead, his voice became lower, "If it’s inconvenient for you, then forget it. Just go back and rest. You have to get up early for work tomorrow. I can take care of myself."

As Shi Che said this, he supported himself to stand up and began to walk slowly, intending to go to the room by himself. However, he hadn’t taken two steps before his feet wobbled, and he fell forward.

Ling Chuxia, standing to the side, reflexively stretched out her hands and caught him, her eyes showing concern, "Shi Che, are you okay?"

A quick flash of cunning flitted across Shi Che’s dark eyes before disappearing. When he looked up at Ling Chuxia, his eyes were tinged with vexation, but he replied, "I’m fine. You should go back now."

If Shi Che had strongly insisted on keeping Ling Chuxia, she might not have been willing to stay, but seeing him like this, clearly unable to walk and yet telling her to hurry back to rest, softened Ling Chuxia’s heart.

Now that Shi Che was immobile, she really couldn’t just leave him here alone. He wasn’t willing to return to the hospital, so she had to stay and take care of him.

After all, his body hadn’t fully recovered, so he probably couldn’t do much to her anyway.

"Nevermind," Ling Chuxia spoke softly, "I’ll stay here and take care of you tonight."

Shi Che felt a ripple of satisfaction, but kept his composure, his dark eyes steadying on her, his voice becoming even softer, "I’m naturally happy that you can stay."

Ling Chuxia didn’t say anything, just reached out to support him, helping him toward the bedroom.

Entering the bedroom, Ling Chuxia helped Shi Che sit down on the bed, then turned to the bathroom and came out with a basin of warm water.
