Chapter 703: Chapter 702 I Only Have You Now (4)
Shi Che felt a moistness slowly spread across his shoulder. Ling Chuxia always cried without a sound, yet her body shook with dense, fine tremors, indicating the intensity of her crying.
The excitement and boiling emotions that Shi Che had felt just moments ago vanished in an instant, leaving only confusion and heartache. Why was Chuxia suddenly crying like this?
"Chuxia, what’s wrong?"
Shi Che’s hand gently rested on Ling Chuxia’s shoulder, his voice couldn’t be softer, yet it was tinged with a hint of urgency.
But Ling Chuxia kept on crying, her sobs choked and breathless, unable to even begin speaking.
The bewilderment in Shi Che’s eyes deepened, but he didn’t ask any further. Instead, he reached out, his long arm embracing Ling Chuxia’s petite frame, pulling her into his chest. His large palm gently patted her back, his voice deep and soft as he slowly said in her ear, "Cry, I am here for you."
Just these simple words made Ling Chuxia’s tears flow even more fiercely.
Perhaps because she had repressed herself too deeply over those three years, she dared not even cry out loud. She would always bite down on her lips, refusing to let herself make any sound. But now, having heard Shi Che’s words, it was as if she had been granted a pardon. She could no longer hold back, and her weeping slowly seeped out of her throat.
So sorrowful, so mournful, yet so relieving.
Xiao Zhao hadn’t been sleeping very soundly to begin with, when he suddenly heard a woman’s crying. He sluggishly opened his eyes, feeling something was off. There were supposed to be only two people in this hospital room, him and President Shi. Where did this woman come from? And the crying?
Xiao Zhao instinctively glanced toward the hospital bed and saw Shi Che still leaning against the headboard, but now, there was an extra person in his arms...
Then, illuminated by the faint moonlight coming through the window, Xiao Zhao could barely discern the figure – wasn’t it Miss Chuxia?
Miss Chuxia? Xiao Zhao’s eyes suddenly widened, and the drowsiness vanished in a flash. He even sat up abruptly from the sofa, making a slight noise that caught Shi Che’s attention with a sweep of his dark eyes.
His gaze was profound, his look landed softly on Xiao Zhao’s face, and then he subtly gestured toward the door. Xiao Zhao understood the unspoken message.
Although he had no idea why Miss Chuxia had suddenly appeared in the middle of the night, or why she was in tears in President Shi’s arms, it seemed to be a good sign no matter how he looked at it.
Xiao Zhao couldn’t help but curve his lips into a smile as he rose to his feet and tiptoed out of the hospital room, then quietly closed the door behind him.

Ling Chuxia wept her heart out, not knowing she could shed so many tears. Her tears soaked the clothing on Shi Che’s shoulder, even spreading a little to his chest.
Women are indeed made of water.
Shi Che remained quiet, silently keeping her company, just as he always had.
Once Ling Chuxia’s cries subsided and her trembling eased, his hand resting on her shoulder gently pushed her back a bit.
Even though the room was dark with only the faint moonlight coming through the window, Shi Che could still clearly see Ling Chuxia’s eyes swollen from crying. His gaze narrowed slightly with concern as he cupped her face in his hands, his warm fingertips delicately tracing the corners of her eyes.
He didn’t rush to ask what was wrong but instead carefully wiped away the tear streaks from her face.
