Chapter 635: Chapter 634 What on Earth Do You Want to Do (4)
He had been chatting with Ling Chuxia for over a month, and they had talked about almost everything except for matters of the heart, because he didn’t dare touch on that topic. There were two reasons: firstly, he feared arousing Chuxia’s suspicion, and secondly, he worried that if he asked certain questions and didn’t receive the answers he hoped for, he would lose the courage to carry on.
Yet now, he couldn’t hold himself back any longer.
He knew she hated him and didn’t want to see him. However, based on her behavior today, she seemed to hate him even more than he had imagined—by a hundred times, by a thousand times.
He knew that during their three-year marriage, he had made endless concessions, and it was only natural for her to hate him, but now, he felt that her hatred also mixed with resentment.
He could understand her hatred towards him, but he couldn’t comprehend her hatred.
He knew that asking such a question would only add another wound to his heart, yet he couldn’t help but ask.
He really wanted to know what she thought of him in her heart.

The person you don’t want to see, who is it?
Ling Chuxia’s dark eyes stared fixedly at those few words, her gaze gradually becoming distant. Who was Shi Che to her?
Was he an ex-husband? But in that marriage, she was just a substitute. How could Shi Che be considered her husband then?
However, a phrase uncontrollably flashed through Ling Chuxia’s mind: "Chuxia, I am your husband, you are my wife." She thought she had forgotten the past, but unexpectedly, it resurfaced so vividly in her mind, making Ling Chuxia’s heart pound fiercely. She shook her head vigorously, trying her hardest to cast out that phrase from her thoughts.
She didn’t know what Shi Che felt when he said those words, but she only knew that at the moment he sent that message, it turned into a complete joke.
She tossed her phone aside, unwilling to face such a question.
It wasn’t dark yet, but she felt tired, a weariness seeping out from her bones. She stumbled back to her room, letting herself fall into the bed, her body slowly curling up as she closed her eyes.
Night gradually deepened, and Shi Che had long since returned home. He walked out to the balcony, instinctively glancing toward Ling Chuxia’s balcony which was engulfed in darkness, with not a single light. He didn’t know if she was still at home.
He reached into his pocket again, took out his phone, unlocked it, and the screen lit up, still on the WeChat page with the question he had asked. Ling Chuxia had still not replied from the afternoon till now.

Ling Chuxia didn’t know how long she had slept; she was awoken by a cool breeze. When she had lain down, she hadn’t covered herself with a blanket, and now that it was autumn and night had fallen, there was a slight chill.
She groggily opened her eyes, and the curtains at the window fluttered in the wind. She unconsciously wrapped her arms around herself, rubbing her arms, and slowly sat up.
She reached out to turn on the bedside lamp and glanced at the clock on the nightstand. She had unwittingly slept past ten at night. Perhaps she had overslept, as her head felt heavy and her body slightly sore.
Ling Chuxia’s feet touched the ground, feeling slightly dizzy and her nose a bit stuffy. She thought she might have caught a cold from sleeping without a blanket, and she planned to step out to find some cold medicine.
