"I—I’m delivering soup to the chairman, on the head chef’s orders," the cook said.
"What kind of soup?"
"Silkie chicken soup, it’s good for the health."
Zhao Mengjin ignored her words and directly lifted the lid on the bowl of soup she was holding on the tray.
In the bowl, the clear broth and fragrant aroma seemed to have nothing amiss.
The cook smiled, "Miss, do you feel reassured now?"
Zhao Mengjin simply gestured with her hand toward the direction opposite where she was standing.
The cook saw her gesture, looked back, and saw Tang Sili walking up from the staircase.
Tang Sili came up to the two of them.
Zhao Mengjin said to him, "Professor Tang, do you think this bowl of soup is suitable for the chairman to drink?"
Unexpectedly, her words first triggered a strong reaction from the cook.
"Miss, what are you saying? This person is an outsider, not a professional doctor personally hired by the chairman; how can he casually interfere with the chairman’s treatment?" The cook spoke assertively, with an aggressive tone.
Additionally, the cook’s loud voice managed to attract the house doctor who was on standby here.

Everyone in the house seemed summoned by her voice, though none dared ascend recklessly upstairs; after all, where Xiao Jianming resided was a restricted area for those without permission. Thus, they all craned their necks at the staircase, observing.
Matters had reached such a point, should Tang Sili make but a single misstep, not only would he be implicated, but it would also draw his employer’s wife, Gu Nuan, into trouble within this household. It would likely be difficult to get the household’s assistance in the future.
